It wasn't too crowded as there were still several seats available inside plus a bench outside, but I chose to eat outside because it was such a beautiful day. I really like the business model where you can grab a single slice and actually see the pizzas before choosing. Sometimes you just want a slice or two instead of committing to a whole pizza, and it's nice being able to mix it up. At $4 per slice, it also feels like a pretty good deal considering how large and filling the slices are. I do wish there had been a few more pizza options available at the counter, but I also understand I came later on a Monday evening. They toast the pizza again really quickly after you choose your slices, and I loved that extra toasted texture, especially on the tomato spinach pizza. I'm a fan of New York-style pizza in general because I like that foldable, crispy texture and the balance between the cheese and crust. Interestingly, the pepperoni slice felt pretty different from the tomato spinach one crust-wise. I personally preferred the thinner, crispier crust on the tomato spinach, but I also appreciated the variety and liked the more comforting feel of the pepperoni pizza. I also loved that they had Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes available to add on top. Since they already have a topping counter, I think it could be cool if they also offered things like banana peppers, hot sauce, chili oil, truffle oil, garlic oil, or balsamic on top to compliment the different pizza flavors.

First time customer, here and I'm so glad I gave this place a chance!…read more I stumbled across Maisie's as I was searching Yelp and was shocked at how many reviews were actually 5 stars and how few unsatisfied reviews they had. From reading the comments, you can tell that they have a loyal following. I knew I had to try it out. My family and I all had a craving for a good, solid hoagie. We wanted to try somewhere new and not fall back on something we've had plenty of times before. It was Maisie's turn to step up to the plate....and they knocked it out of the park! 3 things stand out about their hoagies: price, ingredients and serving size. They are cheaper than a lot of other places, they're made on Mancini bread (absolute gold), and not stingy with the ingredients. Those hoagies were packed! On top of serving an excellent product, the overall service was pretty pleasant. I called to place my pick-up order and the woman repeated everything back to me and never once sounded rushed. She took the time to do everything the right way. Kudos for that! Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the pizza on my first visit. But I'll be back in a week or two to do exactly that! Maisie's gained a new customer, tonight. JOB WELL DONE!

They have a large bar menu along with non-alcoholic options that I appreciate. It was actually more expensive by $3. Idek how that happens. And the pizza did not have the same quality to it as before. It tasted dry and kinda dull. Like whoever made it didn't really care. Completely different from the first time. The most disappointing part was that we asked for mild wings and were given chicken tenders. If someone says mild wings, and you confuse them by asking if they want sauce, and they say just the mild wings....that doesn't mean you give them plain chicken tenders. If you're really unsure what they mean you should clarify, not just say whatever and give them plain chicken tenders. I just found it to be rude, both the action and the conversational tone. After this experience it's hard to know if it'll be good or bad next time, we probably won't come back. The service and price is off putting enough all on its own.

Too bad Butler has become a food desert with exception of Pizza Pie and the Chop Shop. We ordered around 8:45 pm because every other pizza joint was closed or didn't answer on a SATURDAY night. The sausage was VERY tasty and of the hot Italian variety but crumbled so small I didn't recognize it as meat. Plenty of mushrooms. Crust was just right with a little crunch and not overly doughy and it was sauced to perfection! Pizza Pie, I will award you 5 stars when you use fresh mushrooms and use less crumble on the sausage.
