    Fried dough
    Ulyana K.

Pretty alright pizza shop in McKee's Rock. Solid place for several other greasy options. The prices are quite reasonable. I decided to try out their cheese calzone and their cinnamon sticks/fried dough. The calzone was pretty good. It was on the sauce heavy side, and the sauce was decent. They do use what seems to be cheese chunks in the calzone, which isn't my favorite style. But, I like the extra dusting of cheese on top, and it's still a solid calzone overall. Good size as well. And, their ranch was quite good; went surprisingly well with the calzone. The cinnamon sticks were a disappointment. They aren't actually sticks, like breadsticks, but rather tiny pieces of fried dough with cinnamon on top. A bit too crunchy but strangely stale at the same time. It comes with some frosting. Good portion for an okay price. All in all, a very decent local pizza shop. Solid calzone, okay dessert. I probably won't come back, but it's not a bad option.

2 slice of pepperoni. Great crust, sauce toppings all in all great slice.

Driving around and realized I was famished. Jumped on Yelp and found Mama Lena's II. If you are looking for a quick slice stop by. Quick and fair price. If you are hungry stop by you won't be sorry.

I was hardcore craving pizza yesterday. And I wanted the authentic stuff, not the terrible "might as well have gotten frozen" pizza. I yelped pizza places near me and Mama Lena's menu spoke to me. We got the Hawaiian pizza. It was a nice fluffy crust, tons of cheese, and just absolute perfection in the distribution of toppings. My only reason to dock a star is that the neighborhood isn't great and parking is awful. My boyfriend locked me in the vehicle to go get it himself since there was no way to pull up closer. However, I'm willing to fight through it for more of Mama Lenas!

Half rack of Ribs and fries

I heard all the hype about this place from friends and coworkers so I finally made my way across the bridge and got a seat in the dinning room with my mom and son. We ordered the child's size spaghetti and meatball, nacho grande, 2 slices of steak and ranch pizza, order of ribs, corned beef sandwich and fries)(never go to a restaurant where your starving ‍). Food came super quick and I mean like within 5 minutes. I absolutely loved the corned beef sandwich its kind of like a primantis but much better. The bun was Mancini and the top of it was brushed with what I believe was butter. No fat on the corned beef, Cole slaw was the best I ever had and the fries were seasoned and crispy. The steak and ranch pizza was bug and really flavorful you can tell they use fresh ingredients. My son loved his spaghetti and the helping was so big he didn't make it through even a quarter of the meal. The nachos grande were OK nothing out of the ordinary. All toppings were fresh (including actual real beef) and presented well. The ribs let me tell you.... THE RIBS! Surprised the hell out of me that you could get ribs like these at a pizza joint. They were fresh, meaty, perfectly cooked and the sauce was well balanced with smoky and sweet. They were also presented very well on a platter. Our server was a sweatheart and was very informative of the business, its history and recommended some of her favorite dishes. I will definitely stop driving past this place on my way home from work. This is now my go to spot.

Very Hot and Wet Cajun Wings
    Nena U.

First time trying Mama Lenas "II" I was a fan of the original. Steeler Sunday so craving wings big time. I had a tough time finding a menu online - that listed their wing flavors. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard the flavored over the phone when I called to place the order. There were many selections. I chose Very Hot and Wet Cajun. The Cajun were very good and I am indeed impressed. The Very hot weren't that hot. They seemed like just hot wings with red pepper flakes on them.. but they were tasty. I ordered a side of fries. I don't expect fresh cut fries but it seems like every pizza/hoagie establishment in the area has the exact same fries. They are slightly coated with like a beer batter or something. I am always looking for the place that has great fresh fries. These were ok but just the same as any other place - meh. Hooray for the Cajun wings. I look forward to going back and trying something else. Thank you Mama Lena's II.

Honestly they probably would have preferred Stove Top though. Green beans - very tasty but not great as a leftover Cranberry chutney - ok, I love the canned stuff but this was truly a hit. Rolls and butter - literally such delicious butter! Apple pies - they were more like empanadas. I was expecting mini round pies. The crust was amazing but the apples were a bit tart. The pickup was easy and seamless. Everything was packed well. Thank you! We can't wait to come in to eat soon.

Our waitress Ellie was attentive, patient, and helpful for our party of 9. She was even willing to give some of the guests tea bags from her own stash! Our group of 9 tried almost everything on the menu. They have a small menu with a few appetizers and main courses along with some desserts. Because we were a larger group, at least one of us got something on the menu. We also shared, so I tried many of the dishes! They gave us an amuse bouche, which was aracini with caramelized onions and peppers. DELICIOUS. I wanted more. We also got foccacia with an oil dipping sauce. The focaccia was denser than usual, but I loved it! Here's what we tried: [Sausage Greens & Beans]: A traditional Italian dish that was absolutely delicious. There was so much flavor between the panchetta, beans, escarole, and sausage. This dish was out of my comfort zone but so delightful. [Crispy Brussel Sprouts]: Man! These were good. They were perfectly charred and paired with a spicy sauce that took this dish to the next level. [Wedding Soup]: A little non-traditional since their noodles were much larger, but I loved the denser meatballs. [Caesar Salad]: My husband loved this dish! The croutons made the dish extra, and it was well dressed and slightly lemony. [Warm Mushroom Salad]: I hate mushrooms but I loved this. The rosemary smoked mushrooms were the star of this dish. [Shrimp Risotto]: This was so creamy and flavorful! [Chicken Marsala]: This dish was out of this world! The rosemary smoked mushrooms gave this dish a perfectly smokey flavored. The chicken was stuffed and accompanied with lyonnaise potatoes that were so crispy and delicious. [Roasted Veggie Rolled Lasagna]: Wow was this dish flavorful. The variety of vegetables were perfect, and the roaster red pepper ricotta in the middle was just what this dish needed. [Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie]: This was the perfect fall dessert. Apple turnovers, peaches, and pumpkin pie mousse. The perfection portion and not overly sweet! This restaurant made it to my top 5, and it was so delicious. All of the flavors were so complex! You need to try this restaurant or you'll really be missing out! I cannot wait to try more items on their menus as their specials and menu changes. Such a hidden gem!

We arrived at 5:30 and were quoted a 45-minute wait (possibly less). We stood outside for over an hour. During that time, we watched multiple parties who arrived after us get seated ahead of us--including a two-top seated immediately after we were told we were "next." When we questioned it, staff were defensive and claimed some guests "live nearby," put their names in earlier, and leave to wait for a text. That was never explained on the phone or upon arrival. From what we directly observed, the seating process did not appear first-come, first-served. It appeared selective. Transparency matters, and so does basic courtesy when guests ask legitimate questions. Ten minutes after we finally left--after waiting over an hour--we were told our table was ready. By then, the issue was no longer the wait, but the clear lack of organization and professionalism. We will not be returning.

Wheeling seemed to be somewhere in the vicinity of our drive to Morgantown tomorrow so I decided to stay the night. Looking for a place for dinner, I stumbled upon this place on Yelp in wheeling. Little did I know what an iconic place this is. We arrived at 5:15 on a Wednesday evening bc we are getting old. A couple leaving at 5:15 made us see our future. We were fortunately seated immediately. The inside is SO CUTE. I can't get enough of it. It felt like such an authentic Italian experience. Our server was incredible. So nice, personable, helpful. We started with our beverage orders. I went with a little something off their cocktail menu the elderflower martini which, exactly as I expected, was way more like spiked juice than a "martini" but I wouldn't want it any other way. Don't think I wasn't intrigued by the fried cheese but we have been eating a fair amount of that lately so instead of offering an app, I opted for an entree (stuffed rigatoni) and a side of broccoli. GF ordered fettuccine with red clam sauce. She got a house salad and I didn't for some reason. The broccoli was seasoned wonderfully but the texture wasn't as crisp as I would have liked. The rigatoni and the house sauce was ORGASMIC. That sauce is incredible I would gladly buy it by the jar. The rigatoni were al dente pillows of creamy ricotta heaven. Spectacular. GF regarding her red clam sauce pasta, "delicious". We also ordered the tiramisu to go so stay tuned on that.

Yuh, they don't have filtered water. So it's WV chlorinated. We ordered an appetizer and it came quickly. 2 Ribeyes medium and medium rare. And a cod filet. The cod came out 45 min before the steaks. We kept being told by the waitress and owner I'm guessing "just a few more minutes!" An hour after sitting down maybe longer two well don't steaks were sat infront of hubby and grandson. Absolutely not! We were going to suck it up but it wasn't cheap. So the guy said he'd take and replace the steaks. 30 ish min later the steaks came out still overdone. They gave us no discounts brought out an entire other full serving of food. Over 2 1/2 hours total. We were going to serve the overcooked meet to our dogs and they wouldn't even eat the meat or the bone. Apparently this place is popular with the locals but our experience was extremely poor.

When you walk in, there is a gelato station right there. The Staff is very attentive very engaging and very accommodating to your needs. Let's get into the food. The calamari you see in the picture was heavily breaded and the oil it was deep-fried in was old, so it clumped everything together, and you got more of a burnt breaded taste than the ability to taste the calamari not good at all. I had the pasta Primavera that was cooked perfect and the spices were out of this world. It had some heat. I had their tomato salad with hot peppers and anchovies. The salad was good. My critique on this would be the tomatoes they weren't ripe and juicy as described in the menu. Would I go back yes but it wouldn't be my top priority, but worth a try.
