Slice on Broadway serves up pizza all throughout the city of Pittsburgh. There are several…read morelocations, but this particular spot is in the heart of Carnegie. We have been here several times, and usually stop for a slice when we are in the area. Located right on E Main Street, this pizza shops serves made-to-order pies, pizza by the slice, rolls, hoagies, and much more. There is street parking around the shop, along with a paid parking lot right across the street. The shop is smaller, but is updated and cleanly. There are several tables for dine-in guests, but no large tables. If you have a larger party, you would need to split up into several tables due to layout and size of restaurant. We visited on a Sunday afternoon in July. This was during a Farmer's Marker right on E Main Street, so there were a few customers from that. However, it was not too busy or overwhelming. We only had one person in front of us when we went in to order and had no issue finding a table. You are able to order whole pizzas and customize them like any other pizza place, but what makes Slice on Broadway stand out to me are the slices available at the counter. That concept very much emulates their namesake, and reminds me of shops in NYC in that regard. Since I usually visit here with just my fiancé, we tend to stick to ordering a few slices instead of an entire pizza. This way, we can try different types without spending a fortune/having excessive leftovers. On this visit, we tried four different slices and a roll. We had a Plain Slice, Pepperoni Slice, White Slice with Spinach and Tomato, and a Pepperoni/Cheese/Pepper Slice. All of them were good, but my personal favorite was the Pepperoni/Cheese/Pepper. That is not a combination I would have necessarily ordered for myself in a full pizza, but I loved getting to try it. It opened my eyes to putting the yellow peppers on pizza! Additionally, we ordered a Spinach Roll. This was very good, and came with a marinara sauce for dipping. All of the items that you order at the counter - the slices and rolls - are heated up before being served to you. So, even though the items are on display, they arrive hot and fresh out of the oven. I have found the staff here to always be helpful and friendly. Specifically on this visit, we received great service from the cashier. He informed us on what the different pizza slices were while being friendly and hospitable. Personally, I have never had a negative experience with the staff at this location. The prices are average here. It is nice how you can purchase individual slices that are ready in a few minutes, but ordering several of those will add up quickly. They do accept both cash and card, which is a plus! I would recommend Slice on Broadway if you are thinking about making a stop. They have several locations, and you can try different pies by purchasing a slice available at the counter. The service is quick and friendly. It is a great place for a quick lunch or bite at any time of day. I have always enjoyed coming here, and will definitely be back in the future.

I'm new to pizza and don't care for bread, so this wasn't crunchy enough for me to forget it was made of bread or dough. All of the delivery drivers have delivered my foods within reasonable amounts of time and have courteously interacted with me. Here are my husband's and my ratings for most of our foods: No-guilt pizza - 4 stars - This pizza was topped with white sauce, cheeses, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, and tomatoes. The ingredients were very fresh, and I liked the flavors. Vegetable hoagie - 4 stars - This hoagie contained fresh mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli, and cheeses. Pierogies - 4.5 stars - I was hoping that these pierogies would not be just Mrs. T's, and they were not--yay! These pierogies contained potato cheese and actually tasted very good. Sicilian pizza - 5 stars - This pizza was very thick and was cut into squares. My husband chose toppings of bacon and ham. When he called to tell them the order was wrong, he was actually told to "just pick the cheese off." I ordered a Hawaiian pizza with ham, pineapple, and onion. Instead of the normal diced ham, the pizza was covered with huge chunks of what appeared to be scraps, ends, and big, tough rind-like pieces. I couldn't find a single good piece of ham on the entire pizza. Although we had paid for delivery, they said I'd have to return the food myself, so I drove both items back to the restaurant. The guy there, maybe the manager, asked if I had returned the two 20 oz. Cokes. I said no, so he charged us for those, plus the delivery fee and tip, and refunded only the food I returned. So we still paid $11.50 and ended up with no dinner. I agreed to leave the driver's tip because none of this was the driver's fault, but I was surprised the restaurant didn't simply refund the entire order and apologize. Had they done that, we probably would have given them another chance. Instead, there was no apology and no apparent concern about losing longtime customers. This came just a couple of weeks after a plain cheese pizza arrived looking like it had been dropped or tipped on its side, with much of the cheese slid across and piled up on one side of the pizza. We didn't complain about that one because we figured things happen. I'm including a photo of that pizza. We gave them another chance. Unfortunately, there won't be a third
