Pepperoni pillow puffs, nothing like the picture on their site
    Paula C.

Sorry but this place is a huge disappointment. I don't know why they show those pepperoni puffs on their main page, because that is NOT what you get. They are ok, but just plain, dry dough balls with cheese and pepperoni in them, not covered in cheese and parsley as shown at all. They also come with a very small container of horrible sauce that tastes like old ketchup. I also got a steak hoagie, that had two very dry pieces of what tasted like an old steak-um covered in some spicy seasoning that tasted very old and bitter. The French fries tasted very greasy and old also. The front door of this place had its glass broken and replaced by a large piece of plywood, that should have been a sign to stay away!

    Chicken and Spinach

Ordered via Eat24 for pick-up and found that our pizza was on time and still looked fresh out of the oven. We went for the chicken and spinach which also came with thinly sliced tomatoes and bacon. We also subbed white sauce since it seemed more apt for these toppings... Great choice! Toppings weren't very heavy handed but we still found the flavors spot on. In regards to service, we found the staff to be very friendly when we walked in. When we asked for a few plates, the lady behind the counter neatly bagged us a few heavy duty plates and napkins. I actually only expected a few paper plates to be handed to me. The only thing that could have been better was if the crust was just a bit more crisp.

    Asian zing Wings

With all the pizza options, it was hard to decide where to get delivery. But I came across this one and I just had to try it because of the good reviews. We ordered a combo of pizza with one topping, wings (Asian zing flavor and a 2 litter soda. I was pleasantly surprised that it had more wings than I had expected. The pizza was good but I wasn't a big fan of the amount of cheese, it was a bit too much with the flavor. We really liked the wings! They were big and crispy with a good amount of sauce. Give this place a try, you might be pleasantly surprised!

    Hot Pepper Balls

I get takeout from Tomatoes II all the time. The crust is on the softer side and is quite yummy. I usually get medium size pizza to avoid a case of the droopies (is that a word - spell check say "no"). I just don't like droopy pizza. My go-to favorites are the meat and taco. The meat pizza is as you would expect, a carnivore's dream. The taco pizza is topped with taco meat, cheddar cheese, followed by crushed tortilla chips, fresh lettuce, and tomato. The chips provide a texture change which I really like. Small Pizza base price is under $10 so you can get a really good pizza at a great price. Delivery is fast if you are in the area.

The spinach and feta pizza with white sauce
    Divya P.

One of the best pizza deliveries in the south hills. We ordered the spinach and feta pizza with white sauce and enjoyed it. What exceeded our expectations was the breaded zucchini planks and hot pepper cheese balls. Typically by the time it's delivered to your house, deep fried appetizers tend to lose their crispness and become soft but not Tomatoes! Our zucchini planks and cheese balls arrived super crisp and hot just like if would have been dining in. Big thumbs up for figuring that out!

The best pizza joint in Pittsburgh. Great food, cheap prices, and they're open late. These guys are great at what they do.

We tried to make a reservation but nothing was available. My friend insisted on putting our name on a standby list and the restaurant was extremely excited to call us with a cancellation, which they said rarely happens. I was excited to introduce my friends to this spot! Our party was not the easiest as we have a few dietary restrictions, like one GF person and one vegetarian. We wanted a few of the starters and noticed that getting the antipasto might be the most cost-efficient way. My friend asked if we might have all the meat on one plate and the veggies on another to be considerate of the vegetarian (me) and they nicely accommodated that request. The GF friend was excited to order a Dubai chocolate martini as she thought she would be getting these flavors without the dough she can't have, but it came around the rim and sprinkled in the drink and she had to send it back, which they also quickly accommodated. They also had several mocktails on the menu, really nice options made with NA spirits. I ordered one of these. I usually get the gnocchi here but on this visit they had a pasta special with corn that was like a taste of just-ended summer and I went with that. It was delicious and my friends enjoyed their meals as well. There is a dessert bar next door but service on this night was taking an extremely long time so we didn't get into any desserts. Service on this particular visit was not quite what I've been used to on previous visits overall, and one of my friends mentioned it afterward to the GM who was very accountable and responsive. He had also stopped by to personally check on us during our meal, and it's nice to get a sense that a place genuinely cares about your customer experience. I will continue to come back.

The beet salad was SO good I could've easily ordered a second without hesitation. I had a self-proclaimed Reuben connoisseur with me, and he declared it the best Reuben he's ever had (second only to his own, of course ). It's not your typical version either--no standard Thousand Island overload. The corned beef was perfectly peppered and packed with flavor, and even the bread stood out. Fish tacos? Absolutely a yes. Fresh, flavorful, and just done right. We split sides--tater tots for one dish and the homemade chips for the other. Always go for the homemade chips here. WOW! They had this subtle sweetness that made them seriously addictive. Friendly service, great atmosphere, and food that lives up to the hype. Totally worth it! One thing I wish we were told is that there is a surcharge to use a credit card and there was a charge for the salsa. Both those things were a surprise. I love how this place has history. The grandmother owned the Ritz Hotel in Bridgeville and her 7 Up sign from the hotel graces the walls. All the old black and white Heidelberg photos are fun to see. Even though we were disappointed in the slow delivery of our meal, we may give it another try due to the server and the community feel to the place.

His son took me to my table. The waitress was attentive and very friendly. I ordered the honey pecan crusted salmon and opted for carrots and broccoli as my side. The waitress brought bread and a garlic/oil dish to dip the bread in. The garlic/oil was so yummy, I could've just ate the bread without any dinner! I was also surprised to see I got a large portion of food when the plate came out! Most places these days you don't get much bang for your buck. The salmon was delicious, and so were the carrots and broccoli. My soda was flat and I asked the waitress about it and she fixed it. I ordered the flourless chocolate torte for dessert and liked that too. I wonder what the ingredients were, because there was a bit of spice to it that I couldn't quite place my finger on. The only improvements I think could be made are the ambience was loud. There was a large party in the dining room next to me and they were a loud family with children running and screaming all over the place (I understand this isn't within the realm of control for the restaurant). That itself wasn't unpleasant, it would just be nice if there was some strategic sound dampening. On their website I had signed up for a $10 coupon that never came in my email (not sure if I'm supposed to wait days for it...?). Another thing I noticed on their website is that they charge $10 for a split plate. I'm assuming this means if you come as two people and decide to order one plate of food but split it, they charge for that. That seems really weird. People shouldn't be charged for splitting their food, if that's what that is. They also charge you a transaction fee for using a credit card. Next time I'm in Pittsburgh I'll be coming back. It was nice to eat something that wasn't a burger and fries, since there are so many of those types of places in Pittsburgh.

Slice on Broadway serves up pizza all throughout the city of Pittsburgh. There are several…read morelocations, but this particular spot is in the heart of Carnegie. We have been here several times, and usually stop for a slice when we are in the area. Located right on E Main Street, this pizza shops serves made-to-order pies, pizza by the slice, rolls, hoagies, and much more. There is street parking around the shop, along with a paid parking lot right across the street. The shop is smaller, but is updated and cleanly. There are several tables for dine-in guests, but no large tables. If you have a larger party, you would need to split up into several tables due to layout and size of restaurant. We visited on a Sunday afternoon in July. This was during a Farmer's Marker right on E Main Street, so there were a few customers from that. However, it was not too busy or overwhelming. We only had one person in front of us when we went in to order and had no issue finding a table. You are able to order whole pizzas and customize them like any other pizza place, but what makes Slice on Broadway stand out to me are the slices available at the counter. That concept very much emulates their namesake, and reminds me of shops in NYC in that regard. Since I usually visit here with just my fiancé, we tend to stick to ordering a few slices instead of an entire pizza. This way, we can try different types without spending a fortune/having excessive leftovers. On this visit, we tried four different slices and a roll. We had a Plain Slice, Pepperoni Slice, White Slice with Spinach and Tomato, and a Pepperoni/Cheese/Pepper Slice. All of them were good, but my personal favorite was the Pepperoni/Cheese/Pepper. That is not a combination I would have necessarily ordered for myself in a full pizza, but I loved getting to try it. It opened my eyes to putting the yellow peppers on pizza! Additionally, we ordered a Spinach Roll. This was very good, and came with a marinara sauce for dipping. All of the items that you order at the counter - the slices and rolls - are heated up before being served to you. So, even though the items are on display, they arrive hot and fresh out of the oven. I have found the staff here to always be helpful and friendly. Specifically on this visit, we received great service from the cashier. He informed us on what the different pizza slices were while being friendly and hospitable. Personally, I have never had a negative experience with the staff at this location. The prices are average here. It is nice how you can purchase individual slices that are ready in a few minutes, but ordering several of those will add up quickly. They do accept both cash and card, which is a plus! I would recommend Slice on Broadway if you are thinking about making a stop. They have several locations, and you can try different pies by purchasing a slice available at the counter. The service is quick and friendly. It is a great place for a quick lunch or bite at any time of day. I have always enjoyed coming here, and will definitely be back in the future.
