Today for dinner I decided to try Toss after shopping at the south hills village. I ordered online using Grub Hub (for pickup) via the Yelp app. It was very easy and I can check the status of my order within the Yelp app. The pizza was ready about 10-15 minutes earlier than the grubhub estimate. This was a smooth experience. The staff were very friendly, periodically letting me know my pizza was coming up. Inside there is very little room to wait and about just four two-person tables. It was cold outside (34 degrees) and each time someone opened the door a strong gush of cold air would come into the dining/waiting area. That eventually got uncomfortable. The pizza itself unfortunately I didn't care for. There wasn't enough sauce and the pizza crust was too doughy for my liking. read more

There have been numerous times when we've ordered ranch for the wings and we don't get it when we pick it up (even though we paid for it), or the ranch has gone bad, or we've gotten blue cheese instead. Stopped by for a pizza after playing 18. the parking lot is a little small with a couple of other stores and of course you have a couple of 'nice people' taking up 2 spots. The staff was friendly and our pizza was good. The sauce has a little Italian/oregano flavor. The crust is relatively thin and chewy but not the best. They have one of those soda machines that has a about 100 selections with Pepsi products being the main attraction. Horrible experience! First, I waited in line behind a very elderly gentleman who was trying to pickup a "sausage pizza". He seemed to be either slurring his words a bit or speaking broken English, I believe the latter. The lady, who I later learned was named Kathy, was so incredibly mean to this man. She tells him she does not have any sausage pizzas, in a very strong, angry tone. He points to a man who he spoke with, who then confirms with Kathy he ordered a "pepperoni sausage pizza". She comes back to the register and says "Oh NOW it's a pepperoni sausage pizza eh!?". If I had been that man, I would have left. I wish I had. He hands her his card and she points to the other side at the card reader and barks "over there". She couldn't have been more bothered by his business. I'm sorry if this was your dad/grandpa/husband. I should have spoke up because no one should be treated that way. We've eaten here many times before and the quality continues to go downhill. This time our pizza was barely edible (I say barely because the dog did eat it) as it was so burned. This isn't the first time, but I hate to write off a place we used to like. After learning that Kathy was a "manager", it wouldn't even be worth addressing the issue with her. Clearly there has been a change here, and if you're smart-you'll find somewhere else to go. There are only 2 tables so it's not exactly dine-in, but we sat in there and ate our food. They have a special on Wednesdays. 12 wings and a side of fries, breadsticks or cheesy bread for $16. Wanted to try out a new pizza place for delivery, so I figured why not give Toss a shot? The reviews weren't over the top, but I wanted to see for myself. Note that this review is solely based on delivery. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, an order of pepperoni rolls, 2 orders of wings & fries. I thought the pizza was pretty good. Plenty of cheese, nothing extraordinary but satisfying. As for the pepperoni rolls, yum! The side of sauce that came with them had a strong taste of Italian seasoning but other than that, the pepperoni rolls were great. I'd definitely order those again. As for the wings, I actually didn't try any but my husband complained they didn't have enough sauce. I did enjoy the fries. They were fresh cut and packaged in a box. I could tell they were fresh, even after surviving the delivery ride. Overall, I enjoyed the delivery we got from Toss. I would order from there again. Next time, I think I'll try a sub since some of the yelp photos look really appetizing. read more

They tasted good though if you like the breading. Felt it was a little pricey though. No service, get your drinks out of the cooler (which means you pay for each one), no glasses or ice. It was my mistake going there because I really was looking for more of a restaurant but when I called to ask (having never been there before) the girl who answered wasn't really able or willing to explain that. We placed our order online for pickup. The food was hot and ready on time. We got a small personal pizza, which had a little bit of sauce and a lot of cheese with crust that had a bubble in it (our fave!). We also got the salad with the house balsamic vinaigrette (a little on the sweet side, a nice surprise). We also got wings with two different sauces on the side (hot sauce has a really good kick and hot garlic Parmesan was hard to stir and get the full flavor, it was mostly oil). I'm not a big fan of their pizza but there are too many other quality items on the menu that the Pizza is not a big deal to me. We stopped in the day after opening day - of course we expected to wait. There aren't a lot of choices in the area for pizza, so this is a treat for us! We walked in and it seemed as though most people hanging out were waiting on to-go orders. They have a huge menu - pizza, gyros, wings, salads, hoagies, etc! They even offer gluten free pizza! But keep in mind, it is cooked in a kitchen with gluten so it's not promised 100% gluten free. We got the Greek pizza which was incredible! It took about an hour though which was a tough wait. Next time we might just have it delivered since there wasn't much seating while you wait. But the large pizza is probably enough for 3-4 people. It's cooked perfectly. Only thing I would've preferred was more seasoning on the actual crust - it was a little bland. We also ordered the house salad which was alright. It's topped with blue cheese which I don't think is necessarily a topping for a house salad, and came with a white vinaigrette. I probably would just go with Caesar next time. Overall, it wasn't a deal breaker whatsoever. I realize they're still new so I won't criticize wait time. The owner (I believe it was at least) was very friendly and the whole staff is accomadating. Gave it a shot for "Pizza/Movie Night" with the family. Ordered two pepperoni pizza, the chicken bacon ranch sub, and two kinds of wings. Pizza was wonderful. Easily identifiable as non "pre-packaged" crust. The crust was the star. A light garlic butter finish was appreciated. Sauce cheese and toppings were generously applied but not overdone at all. Menu options allowed for a "sweet sauce" which I look forward to trying after sampling the regular sauce. Sandwich was excellent as well. Fresh toppings. Nicely prepared fillings. Blend of mayo and sub dressing brought the whole things together. And the bread...oh the bread!!!! Wings were good, not great but I suspect a user based error in ordering. Well prepared and flavorful, just not what I was expecting as all orders were "breaded". This is one of numerous menu personalizations that make this a "must try" I do look forward to trying the unbreaded wings next Friday, as this will be my family's new to go for Movie Friday. Reading some of the reviews on here I feel like Yelp! Needs to do some scrubbing. A bit whiny and a few who just don't get what a new place goes through. Story goes they have been crushed from day one, then hit a huge computer problem that basically shut their doors to regroup. They did and its back to conquer the pizza world in the South Hills. What's important here? Food Quality! Service! They have both. The wings are dynamite. Fresh and cooked from scratch. They do take some time to prepare but they are unbelievable great! and worth the wait. So many inventive sauce choices as well. Order after order of wings went out of this place along with pizzas galore. The calzones are huge and tasty, fries are fresh cut, dough is made on site, sauces and dressing made in house - equipment is state of the art. Place is awesome! Everything here has the Guest in mind. I felt it. This is not dominos, if you want that quick stop conveyor belt pizza and some frozen wings that you get it in 10 minutes - go there. Every time I've called them during business hours since they opened this summer, nobody has answered the phone, and most recently I got a voicemail saying "Due to electrical utility problems, we are closed for the foreseeable future." Maybe you can't call for orders and you have to walk in? There was also paint or vinyl or something peeling off the architectural feature under the front sign. They may be the best pizza in [wherever they copy pasted their menu from, it named a different town than Bethel Park/Pittsburgh], and occasionally I've felt like trying it because it's super close to where I live (used to drive by daily when I worked at the mall), but it's almost comical that I haven't been able to try it. read more

We ordered pizza, wings, subs and salad. The salad was really small and lacked half of the ingredients that was listed on the menu. The garlic parm wings are very dry, it must just be the flavor that we chose. But, the wings were big and crispy. The pizza has a ton of cheese on it, so my kids loved it. The subs were pretty good.
