Applelicious sells many flavors of apples and pretzels, including plain chocolate, pecan, cashew, M&Ms, and Reese's Pieces. Their chocolates include buckeyes, cashew turtles, pecan caramel turtles, cinnamon grahams, and Oreo cookies. Through their website, I ordered Buckeyes ($6.95), cinnamon grahams ($2.50), a plain pretzel ($4.50), and a roasted pecan apple ($12.95). UPS shipping cost $11.70. The next day, UPS delivered the package to my house--very fast! Applelicious had packed the correct types of chocolates. The Buckeyes (5 stars) tasted very peanut-buttery, and even my husband commented that he liked them. One cinnamon graham (4.5 stars) was milk chocolate, and the other was white chocolate, and I enjoyed the flavors. The plain pretzel (4.5 stars) was a rod that was covered in a very wide layer of caramel and chocolate. The gourmet apple (3.5 stars) was a Granny Smith apple that was large, crisp, and juicy, and it was covered in caramel, milk chocolate, and pecans. My husband and I did not like having pecans on our apple, but that is the flavor that I had chosen. I should have played it safer and ordered the plain chocolate flavor. read more

When we were planning our fall wedding a few years ago, my (now) wife had the brilliant idea of getting chocolate/caramel apples as wedding favors. I was reluctant at first, as I never had a really great caramel apple in the past, but we decided to move forward and I stumbled upon Applelicious right here on Yelp as we were out-of-towners looking for vendors in the Pittsburgh Area. I called the location and worked with Paul to create the perfect apple/packaging combination for our wedding. Paul was extremely friendly and responsive, making the entire process a breeze. The day before the wedding, we stopped by the shop to pick the apples up and were blown away by Paul's hospitality and warmth. The apples looked amazing, but it felt like we had made a new friend as well. I am not exaggerating when I say that these apples were the talk of the wedding! My wife and I just celebrated our second anniversary and we STILL have friends and family tell us that our treats from Applelicious were the best wedding favors they have received to this day. And me? Well, you should know that this original caramel-apple naysayer is ADDICTED to these. No other apple or chocolate covered treat that I've ever had can compare. Although we live in NYC, Paul and the team at Applelicious know to expect a call from me each year on our anniversary when I buy a batch of apples prepared in the exact same fashion as our wedding. Applelicious is a charming store located in West Carnegie. Although the check in site states "dine in for 7% off" there is no actual dining area. Rather you would get 7% off any card you have linked to your Yelp account. They have online ordering where you can ship or pick up in store. While their specialty is candy or nut crusted gourmet apples with some caramel and covered in milk chocolate they also have an assortment of store brand candy covered in the same way. Among those goodies you would find rice krispie treats,grahams, chocolate covered Oreos, and Reese candy to name a few. You can also get buckeyes and cashew turtles. The mini apple which I purchased is milk chocolate covered with white drizzle and is suitable for 2 people. You can purchase larger sizes if you wish to serve more. I met Paul the owner and he explained to me to refrigerate the apples if I don't intend to use it right since they will keep longer. He also explained it is best to use one of those apple slice cutters to avoid the core when cutting. He is extremely knowledgeable about his work and it shows throughout the store. He showed me a box of 16 chocolate covered strawberries in a beautiful arrangement. Unfortunately, I had to pass on those because he does not recommend refrigeration or freezing. I did however purchase two large ones for Valentine's day. The chocolate is so fresh it literally breaks off as you bite it! So good! I'm saving the apple for later but I know my hubby and I will enjoy it. The store also specializes in chocolate covered pretzel rods. Again you can have it covered in M and Ms candy, pecans, cashew, or even peanut butter. You can get either mini or full size. The people there are very kind and tell you about their products all of their apple/treats are amazing.The person that owns the place is named Paul and he is one of the nicest people in the world. My dad brought these apples home for us once before and they are so good. Worth a drive across town to pick one up. My wife just returned from a trip to Pittsburgh, while she was there she found this amazing place. She brought back three items. An order of Buckeyes, made to resemble the nut. Lite whipped peanut butter covered with chocolate. There were 6, but I ate one before I got the photo. A pretzel rod, the entire piece is about 6 or 7 inches long and four inches at its widest. Pretzel rod covered in chocolate, caramel, Reece's Pieces, and peanuts, then drizzled with actual peanut butter magic! The last item was an apple, a Reece's Pieces Apple! Same process as the Pretzel Rod but on top of a huge, delicious apple. I found a video of their web site that showed the best way to cut the apple and it was very helpful. I LOVE little local shops like this. Paul puts love into his work and is happy about making his customers happy! Everything is always fresh and delicious. I've had huge baskets given to me as gifts as well as ordered specialty baskets/items to give. I've never been disappointed.
