What a great little shoppe, full of nostalgia and joy. If ratings were solely based on the environment and service, 5 stars all the way around. The owner is the sweetest. She was fantastic with our kids, and really showed them a great time. We're really hoping to make it in some time when her mother is there, the inspiration for "Mrs. C". Locally made ice cream, nostalgic candy, and a quaint, welcoming vibe all around. As one of my daughter's said "10 out of 10, would come again!".

We've been here a couple times now. Check with them first to make sure they are open as hours are a little erratic due to winter approaching and COVID-19. Our most recent visit was last month. The pumpkin milkshake was really good. They will pretty much make whatever you want and everything is made in front of you, unlike Dairy Queen where everything is made in the back. They have a machine that mixes the flavor you want into their soft serve ice cream. Best part? They started selling old fashioned candy! Sure to bring back childhood memories,...along with those childhood cavities (don't worry,...there's a dentist office down the street). A mix of country style furniture along with a counter and stools along the window provides adequate seating and a way to enjoy the street life of downtown Monongahela. Or better yet,...if they have them out,...you can sit outside on their cute little bistro-style table & chairs. Price-wise - I'd say they are a little more expensive than DQ, but it's worth it. And kudos to the young lady who wore a mask while preparing our food. Fortunately, we were the only ones in the shoppe at the time so we didn't have to fret too much about social distancing. Grab dinner at one of the local restaurants, and top it off with dessert at this quaint little ice cream shoppe. Would we go back? We have,...and we will.

This is the front of the new ice cream shop. It has no wrapping paper in the window now.

This place has the best soft-serve ice cream in town. They have many different flavors of it. I had Greman chocolate and carmel flavored ice cream in a waffle cone. They also have a lot of flavored sodas. This ice cream shop has a Christmas theme so you can have a bit of Christmas all year round. I will be back again soon.

Mother Christmas this place is amazing! It feels like stepping into a time machine. Let's first start with the candy selection, wow! Popular candy from every decade is available for sale. I love that I was able to share the nostalgia of my childhood with my 10 year old niece. We purchased an obscene amount of candy. Next let's discuss the ice cream. Drool worthy! The flavor selection is out of this world! So many options, I can't even begin to list them. Soft serve and hard packed are both available. The baked goods are fresh and so tasty. Third, the environment is very clean, organized, and cheery. Everything is spaced out and aesthetically pleasing. Who doesn't want Christmas year round? The decorations are so cute and old-timey. The restroom is well taken care of and sanitary. Hand sanitizer is available near the cash register. COVID protocols are all in place and followed. Finally, the service is top notch. Haley is gracious, kind, and helpful. She did an excellent job explaining the flavors and offering suggestions. My niece has a peanut allergy, Haley cleaned everything and took extra precautions to ensure no cross contamination. We really appreciated the entire experience and will absolutely frequent this business.

First off, we've complimented the owner/staff as to how impressed we were relative to the cleanliness of the place, particularly the display case. We didn't see one stray crumb both times we were there! It's primarily a bakery but they seem to have daily lunch specials too. For the bakery items, our favorites are the fritters (great with your morning coffee), some kind of crème-filled éclair-style pastry (soooo good,...but soooo bad for you,...see the close-up of the picture as to how it's overflowing with the filling), and the cherry pastry. The lady locks (sp.?) were OK, but different than the ones we're used to. The cinnamon bun we tried was a little dry for us,...but might be a good coffee dipper. As for the lunch specials, we've had the sausage and meatball subs. From what I can remember, they were really inexpensive (think they were $3.50 when we bought them). Tasty, buns super fresh - something I would order again. The prices were super reasonable and the young lady who waited on us couldn't be more friendly. Would we go back? Absolutely! Just wish they would advertise more locally (like on local FB pages,...hint, hint) to remind folks they are still around.

It's a institution that has been around longer then I have, with regular customers who have patronized the place since its inception. The old building once was a carpet store, and a couple bought it and turned what its now Candyland and Farmer's Market. The store is a wonder being split down the middle, one side is devoted to fresh fruits and vegetables, while the other is candy (in monstrous amounts) devided up to be sold by the mixed bag pound, and there are about 100 different other candies besides, so if you can't find it, it may not exist. The are cheeses that are some of the best I have ever had and great prices for block cheese. The people who work there are as awesome as the place is itself. Ask them about anything in store they will pretty much know it inside and out. If not, they will go out of their way to help you. Come here, pure and simple. It's a great place where people from all over world have come and shopped here. I couldn't believe in the time I had worked there, that people no matter the race or religion could bond over candy. Michael Phelps even shopped here and as well as the PR guy for the Ravens all in one summer. You won't regret spending money here and even though I now work somewhere else I come here often, to get a taste of home.

I was looking for bulk candy and needed some specific types of candy. Before going to the actual location I went to the website beforehand and could browse what they have. Their physical location of this store sits in a small plaza below a car dealership along Route 30. Getting here is kind of easy depending on the direction on 30 you are coming. Eastbound, easy, pull onto the road. Westbound, may god have mercy on your soul, try crossing two lanes of downhill traffic while uphill traffic behind you is just zips by or backs up. When you exit, just don't go that way, go the opposite way as it will take you where you need to be and it is much easier on your stress for the day. I don't want to state the obvious here, but you become a kid in a candy shop when you enter. The front of the store is your basic candy store with items that are singular in nature and runs the gambit. Candies that you forgot about will show their faces. Then you move towards the back of the store and enter the holy grail of bulk candy. It is rather well organized and you can find what you want quite easily. If you cannot find what you are looking for, just ask the employee back here and they know exactly where it is. I was looking for something and it was literally right in front of my face, but I kept overlooking it. I spent a lot of money here, but it was bulk candy and for an event, it was well spent money. Definitely will be my spot to go for bulk candy for work.
