    Large pepperoni and mushroom pizza.
    Stephen G.

I've been eating Don's Pizza for over 25 years and it's always the same, consistently flavorful pizza. It's one of the original pizza places in the area, and has continued their tradition of using paper bags for takeout. Food (5/5): I wouldn't label this as New York style, but if you like a thin crust that has a little crunch to it, then this pie is for you. The sauce is a little more on the sweet side, but isn't overpowering at all. There's an appropriate amount of cheese applied. You absolutely get your money's worth with the toppings. Personally, I love the pepperoni that curls and the edges crisp in the oven and there's plenty on every slice. They also don't skimp on toppings when you order more than one - per the pic of the pepperoni and mushroom pizza. You have to expect a little bit of grease when you get a pepperoni pizza, that's just the reality. The size of their pizzas also align with mostly everywhere in the area. Service (5/5): The service is great. You can tell the owner takes pride in making the pizzas and still has a passion for it over 40 years later. Price (4/5): The prices aren't bad. When I called and asked if they had any specials, the owner informed me they don't offer specials because their base prices are roughly the same as most places; he was mostly right. It was a little under $30 for two large pizzas - all pepperoni and pepperoni and mushroom. Overall, a really good pizza that is unique and stands out among a lot of other places in the area. If you're in the area, it's worth a trip.

Had this a few years back and remember it being delicious. Tried again and it was as good as I remember . We just got a plain cheese pizza . One thing I will say though, it looks like the online prices have not been updated in a while. (Medium cheese was advertised as 8.00 bit ended up being $14) either way, we still enjoyed it, and will return.

From strictly an outsiders POV that loves "hole in the walls" and "greasy spoons".... this is both. If they sold alcohol it would fall into the dive bar category :-) After a long 30 hour shift of traveling and the working in nearby Brownsville, I limped back to my hotel exhausted and hurried to get back before it got dark. And I get lost. As I sat on the edge of the bed about to peel my shoes off, I remembered that I am fat. And fat people need food. And this fat guy wanted and needed pizza. Ain't no way I was gonna search out a chain pizza place. I just happened to luck out only 4.5 miles away was Dons! On the other reviews and Dons web page I couldn't really tell if it was a eat in place and more details. I felt like I was a trail blazer again. I grunted and stood up again and headed out the door on a short jaunt to Dons. PA landscape is completely different from New Orleans. For one, here is hills. Two, roadways aren't well lit. 3, hills. The drive there was kinda nerve racking. It was dark and I was tired. In about 7 mins I seent it. A small , I mean really small non descrip shack looking place , in the dark with what looked like a rest area section in front. Park benches and such. Not lit. Kinda spooky. Actually it didn't even look open. Looked more like a billboard at first. I took a deep breath and almost froze my little lungs because it was 25* and walked in. Nice and warm. The good pizza smell right away. Outdoor furniture adorned he waiting area along with a dorm fridge for drinks. Immediately there was a young man behind the counter tossing dough. Yas. A friendly gal asked if I ordered or needed to order. I looked at the wall menu and said "I'll take a 12" pepperoni and mushroom. A quick bark from what I'm guessing is Don, said, "not inches! Thats slices. 12 slices. Not inches" in a odd accent. Now the pressure is on. Can I commit to 12? there was also 8 and 16. I said lets do 12. Besides, they didn't know it was just for me. I waited about 15 mins and enjoyed the friendly banter between them all. The Don (I think?) said, "hey, I'll even toss this one for ya". And so he did with a big smile. I was getting giddy. Time passed quickly. I sat in the lawnchair and just wondered how many pizzas these folks must of made in this small place. Next thing I know, i'm ready. Dude!! It looked amazing!! I snapped a pic like a tourist and they smiled. The price was extremely reasonable too! I walked really fast to the car with the box smoking away in the cold air. I decided then and there I am not waiting to get back to the hotel to eat it. The mentioned of the tiny pepperoni bowls holding grease was correct. Perfect. The mushroom slices are gigantic. The dough was in the middle. Not NY thin but thin enough. I wouldn't change it I plan on hitting this place every time I come back to Pittsburgh!! Yum yum!!

The order was ready when we got there and the staff were friendly. They have a decent amount of seating inside with at least 6 tables and a lottery machine. We used a coupon for 2 hoagies for $19.99. We both got Italians toasted and a side of mozzarella sticks. The hoagies were better than I thought they would be! I'm picky with bread/rolls and this toasted hoagie roll held up well. It didn't crumble or fall apart. My only comment is that they don't slice the sandwich in half. So, you have to do that when you get it home. There was definitely enough meat and cheese inside to justify the price you pay. The mozzarella sticks come in an order of 5 and were crispy despite the 5-7 min ride home in the container. The marinara sauce was fine, nothing crazy. Would definitely order from here again.

The ingredients were fresh but the pizza was not edible. The delivery person was not the problem, the pizza was very hot when delivered and he was careful to hold the box level. Nice guy. My experience with this Angelia's has been inconsistent quality in their cooking particularly. You're taking a big chance on being VERY disappointed. I have been one too many times. Lyn M.

We live in the Robinson area and usually drive to the city for the fancier pizza options. I heard about this place a few times and was interested in trying it. Since it was a weeknight, I did not want to drive in rush hour traffic so we thought this would be the perfect time to try this place. We got a lot of food. We started with their Bacon Cheese Fries (would have been better fresh so that the cheese wasn't hardened over the fries) and Mozzarella Wedges. My fiance loved the Mozzarella Wedges - reminded me of the ones at Primanti's. My son, of course, wanted a simple pizza so we ordered the Traditional Pizza with Pepperoni. He really liked it - it has a garlic butter crust which took it up a notch, in my opinion. I decided to try two speciality pies: Margherita and Aroma Mia. They were both good - if you're looking for something different, the Aroma Mia is great! The Margherita was good too but the fresh mozzarella cooled down/hardened enough on our 15 minute drive home that it didn't come off in bites. (Not saying this in a negative way - still tasted great but would have been better to each fresh out of the oven. The only item that wasn't up to par was my fiance's Steak Hoagie. He got double meat and isn't a picky eater but felt for the price, it wasn't worth it. He said the steak reminded him of gyro meat texturally which weirded him out. He still ate it but said that if we went back here, he would just order pizza. The downside? It's only takeout and delivery. There's a small table in there to wait for your food but that's it. If there's one thing I'd change, it would be that. I think when you make specialty pizza, it's so much better to eat fresh vs. placing it into a box to have sit in your car until you arrive home. To wrap the experience up, I'm glad I went. Was it pricy? Yes. But did we get a ton of food? Yes. 2 appetizers, 3 small pizzas and a steak hoagie ended up being about $100. For a small town, it's a lot. However, I would go back again and just order less food. If you're ever near the airport/Robinson and want a good pizza on the go, I'd recommend trying it out. Hopefully one day they can grow and find a way to add some tables. I think this place can be a hit!
