Prego Steak Sandwich - Sintra Cafe - Bend Oregon
Mark D.

Sintra Cafe - Lunch Review I visited Sintra Cafe for lunch with a couple of friends. It's a Portuguese-influenced restaurant with a clean, well-kept space and an open, airy ambiance. Ordering is done at the counter, and the food is brought to your table. The person taking our order seemed a little frustrated with us, and we probably deserved it since we weren't very focused, but overall the staff was friendly, professional, and polite. The food came out in what I'd call a perfect amount of time. We had a bit of time to catch up but certainly did not feel like we were waiting for the food to come out. I had the steak sandwich (Prego), which was flavorful and tender. Both of my friends enjoyed their meals as well: one had the Linguica Pizza, and the other went for a steak salad. (I usually tune out when I hear the word "salad," but he gave it high marks. The pizza looked delicious!) Their prices hover between $16 and $20. Thankfully, one of my friends paid and did not grimace at the cost. Thanks Steve. We all enjoyed the meal. Great space, great food, great company. I'd be very comfortable recommending Sintra Cafe to anyone looking for a nice lunch spot. They also have a tasty-looking breakfast menu, and they're open only for breakfast and lunch.

Outstanding! I was super amazed by the menu, the great service and a clean modern look of this place. I would happily come back again. I went in here for a quick lunch and ordered a kombucha on tap with their tacos. I was absolutely impressed by how flavorful the tacos were. Not only was there in Asada style meat, but also some sausage. The food was vibrant and fresh. There is a wonderful cilantro Crema on top of them that just made this absolutely delicious. All in all, if you haven't been here, this place is totally worth checking out.

Excellent stop for breakfast or lunch in Sunriver. Pro's: Plenty of parking and walkability Pet friendly outdoor seating Relaxed atmosphere with excellent service All menu items were priced between $14-20 and the portions were great. Will definitely go back next time we visit.

Really good. We shared the Pom Dom? muffin, Portuguese Benedict and the Bifana. They were all amazing. Definitely coming back.

Luisa`s Veggie Sandwiches

My partner and I came to Sintra this past weekend and left incredibly disappointed. We arrived around 12:10 pm with only 4-5 people ahead of us. We were quoted a 40-minute wait, but our food didn't arrive until over 1.5 hours later - and that was after checking in multiple times. Meanwhile, we watched table after table (who ordered well after us) receive their meals. Staff explained the delay by saying there was a "rush" when we arrived, which was just a small handful of orders ahead of ours. If that alone can derail service for over an hour, something in the kitchen's organization or training needs serious attention. We had planned to dine in, but after repeated check-ins, the friendliness from staff noticeably cooled. By the time our food was ready, we opted for a refund, which they did issue - along with our meals to-go. Sadly, the food wasn't worth the wait. My Luisa Sandwich was soggy, overloaded with cheese, and poorly assembled, with a single dot of balsamic vinaigrette on top. I couldn't eat more than two bites. My partner's tacos were also soggy and bland. Both meals went straight into the trash. Between the long wait, lack of communication, unfriendly service, and underwhelming food, this was a complete miss. Photos attached for reference - but we won't be back.

Nice bright cheerful place for breakfast and lunch. I liked the Portuguese eggs Benedict. It was spicy. My friends had ham and cheese omelette and huevos rancheros and they both liked those too. Very good service.

Solid breakfast food and coffee! My only complaint is that I wish there were more egg free options on the menu. I came here with a family remember who could only order one item off the menu, so was a bit limiting. Nice ambiance as well. Would come back.

I rarely give 5 stars on an initial visit... but from ambiance to food to service on a Late Sunday morning too, this place was firing on all cylinders. I like their system. When you walk up the entry ramp you grab a menu and wait in line. They've got a full bar and an espresso bar along with fresh baked goods and specials. The wait to order was a few mins (5-10) but the guy at the counter (owner?) was super friendly and personable. To the right is self service condiments, cups, glasses, utensils, a pot of coffee and a huge container of water. Once you order you get a number THEN find a seat. Everything we ate here was awesome and we loved the "piri piri" hot sauce. We tried the linguiça scramble and the Portuguese Benedict, both with the Sintra potatoes. Ingredients and spices were matched well as great flavors and portion size made for happy bellies and a happy wallet.

Food was delicious and coffee was good too. Had the Luna Omelette and a cappuccino. Would recommend to anyone wanting tasty breakfast in Bend :)

I popped in and enjoyed the side of pancake and egg, it was delicious! Perfect portion size, friendly customer service. The orange juice was just so so so I might op her something different in the future but definitely recommend popping in here. Such a unique menu!

Fried Egg Sandwich

Super friendly staff greeted us immediately & told us about the morning specials. For beverages we ordered Jasmine iced tea, orange juice, & a latte. The tea was sweet but not overly sweet with a refreshingly unique flavor that's hard to describe. We were pleasantly surprised! For our meals we ordered Biscuits & gravy (special) & the Fried Egg Sandwich. The biscuits were "just-right-sized" AND served with eggs & your choice of meat (bacon- duh). With our experience, biscuits & gravy are typically served without sides, so again, we were pleasantly surprised!Plenty of thick gravy covered the biscuit & delivered a very mild kick at the end. The bacon came in nice, thick slices. The slightly messy but deliciously hearty Fried Egg Sandwich was served with amazing Sintra potatoes. It was filled with lots of avocado & tomato slices, and thick cut bacon. We would eat here again!

Veggie hash special (no sauce)

Enjoyed a delightful, quiet, early morning breakfast here. I had the veggie hash special and it was scrumptious and healthy. The atmosphere was also very nice and I especially enjoyed their music. They're able to open one of the large windows facing the street to let the outside in. And they have a few tables outside on the sidewalk. Coffee was very good and I noticed it was from Bellatazza which I was actually planning on going to after breakfast. Service was very friendly. Definitely a new favorite spot for breakfast in Bend!

Having read the reviews I was prepared to order the stuffed croissant French toast. Last minute change of heart- I ordered the Gobbler, a roast turkey sandwich on a croissant with a flavor profile reminiscent of Thanksgiving. The sweetness of the fig jam played well with the poached pear, savory turkey and peppery arugula. Dessert will have to wait until our next visit. The pastry counter at the front of the restaurant displays cinnamon roles, scones, muffins and impressive cakes. There's even a marionberry and white chocolate bread pudding that would make a wonderful brunch choice.

While we waited we had to try the flourless chocolate cake and Apple Cinnamon Cake, warmed up along side our cup of Joe. Yo - if you're visiting Bend - make your way here, without a doubt we will stop anytime on our way…read morethrough or if we come back! It's a walk in sit down spot - you place your order at the counter and they give you a number - decent size for busy food times - so usually plenty of seating. Over the phone ordering was a snap and the dude was super polite and helpful - not rushed. My wife got the traditional breakfast - she loved the local links and flaky biscuit - I think it was peach marmalade - not sure, but it was LEGIT. I got the pozole roja (I think that's the menu name) and - yo, it was the best pozole I've had. The ingredients were plenty, the chicken was tender and flavorful, they put the radishes, cilantro and cabbage on the side for you to add so it's not soggy. Sourdough was so good to dip - mouth is watering writing this. Service th morning we were headed out at 7amish was great also - wife got coffee cake (warmed in their brick oven) and I got two citrus muffins and a sourdough cinnamon roll for later - all were scrumptious and delightful. I would got a half dozen muffins if I knew they were that good before. People were kind and the service is quick. We ate there these two time on $52 dollars - both to-go orders. We will absolutely be back - every time we are near bend, I'll be stopping for pozole for sure! Well done, Jacksons Corner, well done!

The staff is always extremely friendly and I have frequently positive interactions with them when I stop by. Prices are reasonable, and the food is very high-quality while also being consistently fresh. Parking can be a challenge at times, but it's always worth the effort. Not to mention a chance for a nice stroll around downtown Bend after my meal... just the perfect end to complement a perfect day here in this lovely place.
