We came for a quick bite before a show at The Tobin. Best noodles I've had in a long time! My Hubbae doesn't even LIKE noodles...or rice for that matter (weird, ikr?!), but we BOTH enjoyed that bowl along with the wings. Noodles were perfectly cooked. The pork flavorful. The veggies were fresh. I forgot the dressing...butter-something but it was popular and I know why! Food came out pretty quick and there is an adjacent room with a bar and more seating. I now have a new spot to check when I'm in the area. PLUS, they have parking in the back!
Found this little hidden gem and left so satisfied. Located on St Mary St where there is parking in the back or on side roads this place offers a small little menu along with beers and let me tell you ....delicious! I had the brisket bahn mi and man it was so well made and all the flavors blended perfectly the brisket was cooked to perfection. My wife had the Thai chili ribs and coconut rice and that too was so full of flavor the ribs went perfect with the rice. The best part about this place is the prices, for the quality of food the cost is unreal, nothing over 15 bucks and that's surprising cause like I said the food was phenomenal. Did I mention the 2 dollar beers! I can't wait to come back and try the vermicelli bowl and egg rolls! I love this place!
My fella and I have talked about coming here for a long time now. We finally go and I hate admit that it was kind of a let down. I ordered the shrimp rice bowl, the brisket bún, and eggrolls for pickup. We arrived maybe five minutes after the designated pickup time. I went to the counter and after a few seconds someone came out and I gave them my name and I was on my way. Something annoying on the menu was that they charge for sauce. I didn't order any, but kind of wish I had. The eggrolls were tiny and a little soggy. They didn't pack much flavor, but did pack a lot of oil. According to other reviews, the sauces we got were for the eggrolls, but I didn't think about that. I also couldn't identify the sauce except that it was maybe a mix of fish sauce and soy sauce. The rice bowl had five large, super crispy shrimp. They were good and the was a bit of heat, but nothing really made it stand out as authentic Vietnamese flavors. The rice had a nice coconut flavor that paired well with the cilantro, but overall, the rice was pretty dry and cold. I did add one of the sauces and, the rice was so dry that the sauce seemed to disappear into it. It wasn't a bad meal, but it definitely lacked bold flavors and freshness. Unfortunately much of the same for the brisket bún- cold and lacking bold flavors. I know we ordered to go, but we are less than ten minutes away. Food usually doesn't get that cold so quickly. I also find it off-putting to automatically add gratuity to orders. It was five percent for to go orders; not sure if there's a standard automatic gratuity for dine in. I don't like this practice especially because they still asked if I wanted to add another tip. Normally I'm not a "not going to tip" person, but this sure made me feel that way. Nothing inspires me to return anytime soon. I think there are much better options around town.
This is the kind of restaurant you come back to over & over again and it never gets old. I had it tabbed and saved in one of my Yelp collections. Today I gave my husband a few options and this is what he picked. We were both so pleasantly surprised. When it comes to Vietnamese food, my husband prefers pho which ironically they only serve on Wednesday'. The cashier also told us it's not the typical style pho. We were intrigued and after eating our meal we decided we're definitely trying it! For today's order we chose the ribs and rice (they're separate) my husband ordered the brisket bahn mi which i feel like is their staple menu item here. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious!! We were blown away for how casual the restaurant is. The aesthetic is giving gentrified/hipster and I'm not mad at it! The customers were flowing in consistently which is expected after tasting the food. Overall, great experience and great customer service! We will definitely be frequent visitors! The price range is also very reasonable for the portions you get! Absolutely love Singhs!
This place is an "order at the counter and then have your food brought to you" type of place. I liked the ambiance. I ordered a brisket banh mi and a limeade. I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that you had to pay extra for some sauce. A banh mi requires sriracha which i had to pay extra for. I know that was a personal choice to pay for it but i was a little bothered by it. The banh mi was pretty good and the limeade did had a nice tartness with a little hint of bitterness that cut the fat in the brisket.
Absolutely incredible Vietnamese spot! The ribs are out of this world -- fried to perfection and cooked in a spicy chili oil that's bold, savory, and insanely flavorful. They're tender on the inside with the perfect crispy edge, and the chili oil adds just the right amount of heat. I honestly couldn't stop eating them. Everything else we ordered was just as delicious -- fresh, well-seasoned, and full of authentic flavor. You can tell a lot of care goes into every dish. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. If you love spicy, crave unique flavors, or just want amazing Vietnamese food, this place is a must-try. Support local business and make sure to stop by this place never ever disappoints. ps the 5 hour drive is worth it every time.
I was looking for a quick bite after visiting the Japanese Garden, and since there are other businesses in the area, the parking in the back can get crowded. We ordered the Shrimp Bún and the Chicken Bún they were absolutely delicious! The rice was flavorful, the veggies were fresh, and both the shrimp and chicken were seasoned perfectly. Overall, the bowls were fresh, tasty, and a great option for a quick meal. The restaurant also offers plenty of seating, including a bar area, which is nice. I've also used the app to order ahead for the Pork Bánh, and the service was quick. This spot is perfect if you're in downtown or uptown, especially near the gardens or zoo. Great vibes, friendly service, and tasty food. Highly recommend!
This was a nice clean restaurant! The atmosphere was chill and cozy. The food was okay. I got the rice bowl with brisket and it was flavorless and dry but the brisket was tender. I also got the egg rolls, which were good but not worth paying for because they were the size of a Bic lighter. I also had the chicken wings in the Tiger flavor. They were bussin!!! Nice fresh, hot and crispy! I was able to dress the Rice up with the fish sauce that came with the egg rolls and some soy sauce. That made it a lot better! Lastly I had a cocktail called, "the mint to be" but it tastes like it was supposed to be a mojito but it was pretty good tho!. Overall service was alright everybody working there act like they were in such a hurry to do things around the restaurant and answering a customers question was the last thing on their to-do-list .
Amazing! One of the best restaurants I've tried in San Antonio. The pork rice bowl ($13) was very flavorful and everything blended nicely. The pork was really good. I wish the rice was a little wetter and softer. I would recommend getting a side or a drink since the serving isn't very big, but perfect for a quick lunch. The service is great, all the workers are efficient. My food came out in 4 minutes! That's incredible! One note is that they have an automatic 12% tip for dine in and 5% for take out. I would recommend Singhs to use reusable metal utensils instead of single use plastic to reduce waste and give the place a more upscale feel. Overall I would definitely come back here. This is our second time visiting here and the food is just amazing. It was refreshing and calm stopping in here. The environment was relaxed. Everything was served to us in a timely manner and we would definitely return.
Ordered Brisket Bún (great first time choice) with a side of egg rolls. Its perfect! Didn't leave me feeling heavy and super delicious. NOM NOM cool little spot will come again
5 stars and the best Vietnamese food I have ever tasted! I met one of the owners at a coffee shop while chatting about mushrooms. When he told me about the restaurant so I decided to try. This place has s located on St. Mary's strip and the parking is in the rear of the building. Inside is really cool. There's a seating area with booths and high tables along with a bar area seating through another room. I ordered my food and it was ready pretty fast. They give you SO MUCH FOOD! But it was SO GOOD that I tried to eat it ALL. In fact, it was so good that I returned within the next few days for more. The texture and flavor of the food was just awesome! If you're in San Antonio and looking for good food, make this place your option. You won't regret it but you'll go back for more.
Excellent banh mi at Singhs. Came here due to good reviews online. I was able to place order online. The brisket sandwich was delicious. I would definitely come here to try different items on the menu.

I've been wanting to try this business out for a while! Late night Vietnamese food that is open by the strip!? YES! Like many places at the strip this spot offers a cool modern bar that has featured cocktails as well as classics. Although the egg rolls are small, they pack a punch of flavor. The brisket is cooked perfectly! So juicy and tender. I recommend upgrading to spicy! (kind of weird that they charge an extra $1) The chicken is perfectly seasoned with a lemon grass rub. I've tried both their Chicken Bahn Mi and their Brisket Bun. Both of them were great! It's just a matter of preference. The drink was strong and ver refreshing! I recommend this place as the perfect starter or closer to a great night at the strip. read more
Oh man! I devoured my pork rice bowl. One of the best I've had! The rice was so good. My family had brisket banh mi and I had a bite. The flavor on the brisket is just right! Also, we finished with the Vietnamese Coffee to get some energy for the rest of the day. Overall great experience and we're definitely going back! read more
Located on the St. Mary's strip corridor, Singh's is part bar part food counter. Singh's keeps it simple by offering rice and meat dishes and a few different snack dishes. They also have different sauces to compliment the dishes. The rice here is so good, it has the flavor of coconut and is super fluffy. I'm not even a big rice eater and the rice is craveable. Order at the counter and they will bring to the table. Don't let the construction deter you. This is a super fast place for homemade eats. read more
*EXPERIENCE DURING COVID-19* I just had Singhs for the first time last night and the only thing I was upset with during my experience was that I had never eaten here sooner! I ordered online for takeout and the process was super easy. The site says it takes 15 minutes for the order to be prepped but when my boyfriend and I arrived we were informed our order wasn't ready yet. No problem. They asked us what car we were in and offered to bring our food out to us once it was done (which ended up being only like 4 minutes later). As soon as the food was in the car I knew it was about to go down because it smelled AMAZING. We ordered a pulled pork Bún bowl and a side order of extra protein of the grilled lemongrass pork. Everything was more delicious than I could have ever imagined. Not only did the pulled pork have an delicious flavor but it was incredibly tender. Combined with the many additional flavors the bowl had (pickled carrots, egg rolls, and cilantro to name a few) the meal was an extremely filling and complex dish. As I'm writing this review I'm already contemplating when my next meal will come from Singhs. I'm a lifelong fan of this St. Mary's gem now! read more
Singhs is consistently delicious. Their shrimp is lightly battered and is always so yummy. Pro tip- order ahead in their toast tab website and your food will be waiting for you when you arrive. Don't get deterred by the construction on st Mary's because once you step inside and experience the chill vibes and eat your delicious food, you'll be grateful you visited. read more

I would go back over and over again if I lived in San Antonio. Super cool little spot. I enjoyed the music selection. They love east coast rap for sure! We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. We received our food really fast. The female who waited on us at the bar was accommodating. They all wear multiple hats apparently as we ended up with a guy who had zero interest in conversation. I didn't take it personal because not everyone cares about the size of their tip. (March 2022) read more
If you are a local or visiting, you need to visit this place! Don't let the St. Mary's strip road and parking situation deter you from visiting this restaurant. It's worth traveling to. The food speaks for itself. The staff are super helpful in explaining what food they offer, comes with, and protein recommendation. Also the place offers great cocktails based on the season. I went with the Brisket Bún, comes with vermicelli noodles, while my husband got the brisket bahn mi. What we got was so worth it. This place KNOWS hot to do brisket and incorporating it with Vietnamese food makes them stand out. I added chili oil to my meal and it gives the food a good kick of flavor. We both finished our food and left on a good note. Inside the place is a bit dim, and is spacious inside where you can bring your friends and family to dine it. Also the place offers takeout if you're on a tight schedule. Singhs also has a bar where you can enjoy your drink and meal at. I went here after a tiring workout bouldering and it was the perfect place to go for a tasty but refreshing and healthy meal. I got the rice bowl with brisket and it both exceeded my expectations and left me wanting to come back for more. The restaurant itself has a nice vibe with cool murals. You order and pay up front and then they bring you your food. They also have a selection of different cocktails and drinks. 10/10 recommend. read more
Insta @dish_360 Welp. We went back to Singhs excited to try more of the menu. We were midway through our meal when we saw the roach darting across the wall. (I am terrified of bugs.) After a few seconds of mentally getting my s#!$ together, I brought it to the attention of a waitress. She said she would take care of it as soon as she could. I stared at my bowl and tried to rally and proceed with the meal. Unfortunately, Mr. Roachie was chilling a few feet above us and I couldn't regain my appetite. I asked for a refund and we left. Definitely one of our go-tos. They have a great drink menu that is reasonably priced and a happy hour that extends to 8pm during the week. We enjoyed the chili oil peanuts and, our consistent appetizer, the ribs. If you like it hot, ask for the dragon sauce! The goi is delicious if you want a low-carb option for entrees. We've never been disappointed! Take note: they do charge a service fee which is intended to be a gratuity for the staff. read more

Too bad that great food is destroyed by unethical management's automatically adding "gratuity" to go orders. Even when you hit the "No Tip" button on the payment screen, they STILL add 5% gratuity. This is also not printed on the menu either which makes it illegal and I'll be reporting this deceptive practice to the AG's office. What service was provided to warrant "gratuity"?!?!?!? read more

I've been to Singhs a few times because I LOVE Vietnamese and this place was on the Austin eater list of must try places to eat. I ordered the Vietnamese crackers which is a mixture of black sesame , shrimp and purple sweet potato served with lime and spicy aoli. $ 5 but discounted to $3 during happy hour. Skip it. Not even worth the 3 bucks. Next the tiger wings. Fried wings tossed in tiger sauce and topped with peanuts and green onion. Great texture but could be better if you asked for extra tiger sauce on the side and poured it on. Next the banh mi. The story begins in the mid-19th century when Vietnam fell under French colonial rule. The French brought their baguette with them, and the Vietnamese people began to eat their bread much like they did typically with a platter of cold cuts, butter, cheese and/or pâté It wasn't until 1954 when French rule ended that the Vietnamese people finally began to impose their own influences on the French sandwich: mayonnaise replaced butter, cilantro and fresh chillies were added for flavour, and pickled vegetables were also thrown in the mix. When I think of banh mi I think of airy, crunchy French Baguette piled high with meats, & veggies accompanied by hoisin, and Siracha. This was not that. If I want a panini I'll go to Corner Bakery. Served closed , flat and wrapped in white paper it was filled with a dew pieces of chicken, carrots and Cucumber. I ordered two drinks. The strawberry fields which is lemon, ginger syrup , strawberry puree & bourbon. Meh. Looking for something that could possibly wow me I ordered the sake mango margarita which is lime juice, mango puree, agave nectar, sake , orange liqueur, & tequila rimmed with house made chamoy. It was decent. Overly sweet but decent. My next trip to Singhs was a huge contrast to my first visit and was nothing short of stellar. I got the the Shrimp bun which is rice noodles, cucumbers, pickled carrots, cilantro, romaine, mint, toasted peanuts, sweet and sour fish sauce, and a fried eggroll. Spectacular. You can opt for spicy fried shrimp or grilled shrimp. Comes with nuoc Cham sauce but I ordered a side of Singhs sauce and piled it on. I ordered the chili butter wings which is served with lime and jalapeños. The cashier suggested a side of tiger sauce and she was right. Delicious. This time I didn't need drinks to make up for the disappointment. Happy hour is Monday thru Friday 4pm to 6pm $ 2 off bar snacks and drinks. Thee is parking in the back and construction all around but it's definitely worth the trip. read more

I blame Singh's for my Fat Bastard status. Usually, when eating here, I have a helluva time deciding what to eat so pretty much order half the menu. The first time I tried Singh's was years ago when they first started in their food truck and they commuted daily from ATX to Hills and Dale's. Their brisket bahn mi was my first try and my first love. How can you go wrong with a lightly toasted roll, fresh, pickled veggies, and outstanding brisket? You cain't, Foo!!! My second love was their vermicelli bowl. Goddamn. Man, you just mix everything, add the sauce and go to town. Over the years, they've added items to their menu. Their wings, bun, ribs are all equally outstanding. The food has always delivered fresh and served in lumberjack-sized portions. When eating food this superb, it's hard to pick one item. If you haven't eaten anything Not a stale bread slice or a chicken wing I know a special place so give me a ring It's the brisket Banh Mi made by Singh! I brought my Uncle and Susan Boyle here because I wanted to recreate that magical moment when she Singh's in public for the first time. I wouldn't say it was Anticlimactic. In fact she started getting with my Uncle right on the table, who only lasted 2 mins, so I'd say it was more Uncleclimactic. I can't think of a Singhle reason not to come here, other than my weird fantasies about my mother, which Singhmund Freud would have something to say about. But I put those aside and came and tried it, and fell in love. With something other than my mother. For a change. How quickly things can change in a few months. Last time I was in San Antonio I discovered this wonderful food truck. I didn't want to try it because it looked so hipster. The Banh Mi sandwich was about $10 for a brisket Banh Mi. I was like what the hell is a brisket Banh Mi. Barbie made me try it and I was so glad I did. It became my favorite thing to eat in San Antonio and one of the best sandwiches I've eaten in my whole life. Yes it was a bit greasy but it was also perfection from the brisket to the bread to everything they put on it. Fast forward a couple of months and that truck is still advertised online and all the signs are still out for it but the truck has disappeared. We were pretty disappointed and wasted our time going looking for it. So then we went to their brand new storefront brick and mortar restaurant as they say and here they all were apologizing and telling us that the truck is no longer in service cuz they are focusing on the restaurant. Way to let everybody know! We came fairly early in the afternoon and they were out of brisket already. We were extremely disappointed because we're obsessed with that. The guy told us to try the shrimp or the pork version. The shrimp sounded okay but the pork was the second most popular so we went with that. Parts of it were a big grizzly for me but it was still really good. The sandwich tasted the same as the other one did but I couldn't help but notice the sweet element. It was also so incredibly greasy that on such a hot day I wasn't able to eat very much of it. It did taste amazing though and would probably get a 5-star rating for me even if that was all I had ever had from here. Of course I know how good the brisket version is and so that thing is a 10 out of 5. That's one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Shame that we couldn't get it again but next time I come to San Antonio I'm going to come back and get it. Not so great though that the first time we came here, it's early in the day and they're out of their famous sandwich. Hopefully it was a one-off but when you've only been to a place once and something happened it's hard not to think that it might be a regular occurrence and one which they need to avoid because that is a sandwich that people go out of their way for. And we had driven from Houston partly for that sandwich. It's in Olmos Park, which is Olmos the trendiest area in town. Cute decor in here and it's a cool little spot in a pretty trendy area so they should do really well. I expect it to do extremely well. They just need to get a little bit more ahold of what's important in business which is being reliable. If we had come 20 minutes before closing I would have been more understanding about it. And if you're looking for a bit on the side, go to Fling's. If you're an Englishman in Texas, go to Sting's. And if you're Paul McCartney, go to Wing's. And if you're Ari Grande, break up with your boyfriend, cause I'm bored, then go to 7 Ring's. read more

Singh's was suggested to me by a friend so I decided to give it a try for our Friday night take out dinner. I placed the order online and it was ready so quickly. We split the brisket banh mi, the chicken bun, and an order of egg rolls. Everything was so fresh and delicious, but the star of the meal was definitely the brisket banh mi. Cool place to eat at off St. Mary's street. Great for lunch or dinner, whether dining solo or with friends, even maybe a date. Love the artwork and murals in this restaurant. The Pork rice bowl was very delicious! Thinking to try the brisket next time. Also not many places in San Antonio serves Banh Mi! Now a place to go to for yummy Banh Mi! The bread is great - honestly would like it extra crunchy on the outside. That's just me. My friends had a great time and enjoyed the food. The bowls are shareable for 2-3 people or yourself if you're that hungry. Very filling. Would definitely would come again! Also looking out for special dining experience events. They did a collaboration with Awase with a Japanese omasake twist, with music, and great drinks. A fun experience for any food lover. read more

First time here, had the noodles and brisket and had them make it spicy. Practically licked the bowl clean. Staff was very kind and food came out quickly. Love the cleanliness of the restaurant and the Japanese beer selection is also great! Will return! read more

What an amazing place! Congratulations boys, I used to frequent the food truck. I moved away and had not had it in years. The brisket friend rice is amazing. The brisket was perfectly cooked. The wings were greats. My peers who were there just for the conference are still talking about it. This place is a must. Don't miss out. You will not be disappointed. Pros - Clear and simple menu that's easy to follow on the board right when you walk in towards the counter - Organized system of bringing food to your table - They have a self serve station for water and utensils. If you want ice or lemon you'll have to ask - The winghs were delicious. Perfectly warm and crispy! They were also super flavorful! - The pork banh mi was stuffed with meat! They were very generous with their ingredients. Cons - Parking can be a little tough in this area. Be ready to look for street parking! - The interior of the restaurant seemed almost too dark and cold. It wasn't a very warm atmosphere to be in - The restroom is a bit sketchy. It doesn't really lock! There's a sign on the outside that says "Please knock", which can be a little nerve wracking when you're trying to use the restroom... read more
