I came here on a Tuesday afternoon with my mom. She and my brother had been frequenting it lately and she wanted me to try it. Since it was between lunch and dinner, it wasn't too crowded and there was no wait. The place was pretty spacious. The waiter was friendly and attentive. My mom and I both opted for the shrimp curry, with an order of Vietnamese egg rolls. The rolls were brought out first and were crispy and hot. The dipping sauce was a nice accompaniment. Our entrees soon followed. The curry was fantastic as were the shrimp. I had asked for mine to be on the spicier side but it was still kind of mild. I think the waiter possibly switched our plates unsuspectedly. This was a pretty good experience, and I would consider returning in the future. read more

Do not go here! Terrible service. Wow just now came out of this restaurant! Walked in. No sign saying to wait to be seated. I sat at a booth across from where waiter was grabbing water and ice, he made I contact with me three times and after 10 minutes I got up walked to the counter and he comes out delivering a to go order. As she walks away someone comes up behind me and he asks if he can help them! I told him do I need to be seated? We haven't had Vietnamese food in a while so we thought to go to @phovnbistro for dinner tonight. The outdoor seating is great because it's covered. Kamryn was a great server who was knowledgeable on all the specials and food. Dad and I split a huge bowl of Pho Tendon. The tendon was still a little tough and Kamryn discounted our food for us. We all shared the Crawfish Fried Rice which was very tasty and we had extra to bring home. We also had the Shredded Pork Skin Rolls. My husband had B2 which was Vermicelli with chargrilled pork and egg rolls. He finished it all! We had the house Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and my husband also had the Michelob Ultra. I came here JUST for the Vietnamese coffee that is 5 dollars. I ordered, a table came in after me, they got their drinks, I still hadn't received my coffee. A TOGO order came in, I'm still waiting. Then I walk up and speak to the young lady, and she quickly ran to the back and grabbed a coffee, and filled almost ALL of it with ice and the amount of coffee was just about two inches from the base. Don't go here. I ordered take out vermicelli and they forgot the sauce...which is key to the dish. I called and asked for a refund and they had the AUDACITY to tell me to take the food back as proof I didn't eat it. Unreal. Short term thinking on their side. I love Pho places and had high hopes this place would be great, but sadly to report is was just ok. I ordered a chicken / rice dish, which was good, but nothing special. The food was a bit bland compared to other Pho places I've eaten at. Regarding service, it was pretty good, but there was only one server for the entire dining room. I had tea, which was not automatically refilled, I had to flag down the server and ask...always a deduction! The food here is really good but they never have enough staff to cover all the tables. The few times I have visited the restaurant they have one person serving and cleaning all the tables, doing cashier duties, and taking orders over the phone. I stopped in here on Thursday for a quick bite. There were about 4 tables with diners and a girl at the front counter who handed me and my husband our menus and silverware. She promptly came over took our drink orders and came back with our drinks. We always order Pho at Vietnamese restaurants.. it's my favorite but I felt like something different. I decided on B10 which was the vermicelli bowl with a spicy lemongrass shrimp. As we watched the girl in the front we noticed she was the only person waiting on every table, answering the phone, taking Togo orders, refilling drinks, bussing tables, packing Togo orders and doing all this with a smile. She was amazing!! The shrimp dish I ordered was really good. I got medium spice and I could have went hotter but it was delicious. I forgot to take a pic because I was starved but I had to write this review not just because I had a really good lunch but because this young girl who worked the front makes this business look good! I am Vietnamese and well versed in my countries food/culture. I ordered egg rolls which were really tasty but a bit expensive but it is fine. I ordered pho dac biet large bowl and the broth could use more beef flavor and star anise. Dac biet means special all cuts of meat in 1 and I just felt I didn't have enough meat in my bowl. It wasn't "dac biet". The cuts of meat had too much fat and not enough brisket. The meat wasn't finely sliced but tasted cut prior and added to the bowl with the hot soup curling the meat. 2 meat balls isn't enough. Over all, it was decent but not great. Was not authentic Vietnamese pho but considering the location, it could of been designed for a different crowd so I will give them credit. read more

This place has been passed so many times until one day it needed to be seen. Upon going in for lunch with my brother, we noticed that the restaurant is not so active despite we came around 12:40pm. Typically a restaurant should die down by nearing to 2pm. Furthermore, we noticed that they are short staffed which could correlate to the inactivity. So We ordered the H1 special Hu Tiêu my Tho which is similar to a pho but has a rich chicken broth with shrimp and pork slices. Additional plates we ordered was a combination lo mein and some summer rolls. All of them came out fabulous!!!! This most definitely inspired me to get back into making foods of Vietnamese origin but where to start?? I know out of respect I made the famous banh mi (in the style Vietnamese flank steak sandwiches), so perhaps someday make the famous fried spring rolls made in a few pho shops sampled. Place is in a shopping center near the Alon Marker H-E-B. We got the summer rolls - which they do with shrimp and pork - which were good, but they only gave two. I got the Bun Tom Xao, which I've had elsewhere, and it was a bit lacking. My wife got the B8 and my daughter got the C1; both enjoyed theirs. On both shrimp dishes, some shrimp had tails removed and some did not. read more

This restaurant is located centrally and a shopping center called The Alon. It's easy to find because the text for its name is in green and red. Parking is good and there are a couple handicap spot right in front. As a note, this is a nice shopping center and fun to walk around. As you walk in the door it has a little (and I mean a little) Asian feel. There are not a lot of decorations, but the restaurant is very clean. It also has plenty of seating and does fill up during lunchtime. The staff are very responsive and seat you almost immediately (assuming there are tables available). This is probably my third time going and each time the service has been outstanding. This is a big deal for me, as I feel if I am paying for a meal service is big part of that experience. Now to the good stuff, we had the vermicelli bowl, which was nothing short of delicious (and a go to dish) and pho tai also delicious (there's nothing like a good bowl of soup when you're not feeling well). We had a couple iced teas to go with our meals and it was apparent they were fresh brewed (which is the only way to go). We highly suggest giving this little restaurant try. read more

I don't want to go anywhere else because I'm afraid that I'll ruin my taste buds. I've been back 4 times now and I just learned they had a 2nd location by accident when I called and placed an order ahead and showed up at the wrong location. Thankfully the host was really cool about it and reordered what I ordered from the other location and just told me to call the host at the other location to let them know I'll be getting food from their 2nd location. And while it wasn't bad, I couldn't help but feel the pork had been frozen and then just thawed, heated up and sliced. I think the fake-looking 'char-grill' marks on the strips gave it away. It was thinly sliced. I expected slices or chunks. The husband had the combination lo mein. It was made with the same thin vermicelli noodle as my dish. Shouldn't lo mein be the thicker noodle? This place resembles a school cafeteria. I ordered a bowl of Pho that should have contained shrimp steak and a a large selection of veggies. When the bowl was plodded down on my table There was one shrimp floating in the broth a few pieces of some pale colored meat there was a small amount of veggies. The broth was without an real flavor. The one shrimp was rubbery and over cooked. The beef was tuff and tasted horrible. I order an iced tea which was warm and had just a few ice cubes floating in it. read more
