Singh is King! This Vietnamese joint kicks out the food! They've got a handful of different dishes- bahn mi, gao, rice and bun, along with a protein for a few bucks. I opted for the Gao, which was a bowl of shredded lettuce, peanuts, lime, marinated pork, and some sauce. It was light, crispy, and delightful. I really enjoyed the meat, with a great rich sauce. They have some sauces that you can jazz up your entrees with. The service was very friendly and worked to keep us happy and fed. They were quick to get out the food, and explained all the dishes and even told us how to pronounce things. This used to be a food truck and they're rockin the brick and mortar permanent place! I enjoyed the decor here- it's a bunch of exposed ceilings, vents and urban artwork with an eastern vibe. The water is serve yourself, but they don't have any ice, unless you ask. read more

I absolutely love this Vietnamese fusion restaurant! The service is always super friendly and nice. My go-to is the chicken goi bowl, deliciously seasoned chicken on a bed of cabbage, carrots and cucumbers topped with a refreshing, citrus sauce. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND making it spicy for an extra $1 to add fresh jalapeños and chili oil. I opt for Goi when I want to feel "healthy" yet satisfied because this is a BIG bowl. My dining partner wanted to try the pork chili ribs. I'd say to skip this. We received 5 ribs that were extremely salty. Very crunchy as well. Great concept all around. Easy and direct, I'm honestly a big fan of places that dare to innovate but keep it simple at the same time. Arrived last night 5 minutes before closing (sorry) I was under the impression they were open until midnight. But their customer service was very friendly and welcoming anyways. Ordered the rice with brisket and some winghs, mu brother ordered the ribs. How can I explain it? Food is made on point, proteins are very fresh and very well cooked. Seasoned in a very subtle way, honestly I haven't tried anything like this so it is pretty hard to describe, but everything worked out exceptionally. On the winghs I would only suggest a little more seasoning, they were kind of bland. The jalapeño shavings were great, maybe a little more of that through all dishes. The ribs!! Cheezus Christ again hard to describe since food like this doesn't exist, crispy - dry seasoning - fatty goodness. Wow this place is fantastic! Honestly one of our favorite places to eat in town and we eat out ALOT! Everything we've ever tried their has been absolutely delicious and worth making a 25 minute drive to go eat at! I usually always go for the beef Bun because it's absolutely amazing and the beef is so melt in your mouth tender. It comes with a small egg roll as well and it's so so good! My husband loves their chicken rice bowl. It is definitely one of his all time favorite meals and something you should definitely try yourself. Do not miss out on eating at Singh's because it is so amazingly good! I used to travel nearly 30 minutes to the Singh's food truck by Hills and Dales off of 1604. I would go strictly for this gastronomy delites that they offered. I never actually went to Hills and Dales. I always wanted Signhs to offer a brick and mortar venue. The drive that far started to become a bit too much. Now that they have a restaurant nearby, I am fully satiated. I cannot say enough greatness about this eatery. It is Asian fusion at its finest. I have never had a bad or even mediocre meal here. My fave is the pork bun (it's $1 more but comes with that foodgasmic eggroll). Definitely try the ribs. You can share but, you probably won't want to. They are fried and not grilled or roasted. The taste permiated the meat straight through and wasn't just a shallow outside flavor. I normally don't totally clean the meat off my bones completely (insert that's what S/he Said joke here), but I couldnt help but devour every piece of savory meat (twss) on this rib, no matter how large or small the piece (yep, and I'm not even trying). Do yourself a favor, get the ribs. Like yesterday. The staff is amazing. I see where people have had issues with staff bejng "short". But c'mon,, it's on St Mary's, and they often deal with those who either can't hold their alcohol or cannot conceal their entitlement issues. I have never had a an issue with staff or the quality of food. Often, I'll grab a nom to go. I've never waited more than 5-10 minutes. The menus unlimited compared to other Asian restaurants but it's perfect for the location. I totally believe in option overload, and all of their options here are spot on delish. It's great for the carnivore, the vegetarian, the herbivore, or even the flexitarian in your life. The owner has taken his family recipes and created soemthing that all can enjoy. Please, do yourself a favor and stop by. Grab a beverage at TBA and a nom at Singh's. You won't be disappointed. Been coming to Singhs since it opened. Today my boyfriend and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary by stopping by the place we met. Bartender MiMi told us that our kisses at the table were not appropriate and asked us to leave. This was not appropriate in front of other guests. Gotta say, Singhs got me singin' a simple, enjoyable, relaxing tune and I'm very pleased to give this review to y'all! Just enjoying a nice cup of Summermoon coffee down the street I found myself in the mood for a tasty dinner and I had vermicelli on the mind so I was pretty stoked to find a rather new vietnamese/tex fusion right down the street. My overall impression of this place will be described as TASTY: T: TASTY from the get go! Sitting down and receiving that bowl of shrimp vermicelli, I was stoked to see the good sized pieces of deep-fried shrimp colorfully surrounded by lettuce-y greens, orange veggie goodness, mint-y leaves, and lined with nicely chopped egg rolls all sitting on top of a white table of noodles. The aroma was astounding, very fresh and tantalizing. I enjoyed how juicy the shrimp was when biting into them, the egg rolls were crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. Overall this was just a fantastic dish, just not that big but with an appetizer on the side, I'd say you'd be a happy camper leaving Singh. A: The surrounding AREA was seemingly quieter when I went in the late afternoon and especially compared to the hustle and bustle on Broadway, this place had a more lax flow and I can appreciate that very much. There are a couple bars if that interests you or further down the street there is Summermoon coffee so despite it being less convoluted, you can still find a number of places to visit before OR after a meal. S: SERVICE & SIMPLISTIC would have to be my description of the venue and employees which is always a plus in my book. The menu is nothing short of simple but I didn't feel like it was lacking; it was straight to the point and tbh not many places nowadays do that. I felt at ease and the cashier at the front was super helpful explaining the ways in which this place is a fusion of vietnamese and good ol' tex flavor. T: TRENDY and not over the top. A lot of asian places I've dined in have been, in my opinion, adorned with lots and lots of decorations such as plants, paintings, and other eccentric pieces that, sure look great, but can quite often make the place crunchy and hard to maneuver around. Here at Singh they really have a lot of space to work with and it doesn't feel like it's lacking, it's minimalist in nature and keeps the crowd coming in for more. Utilizing the wall as a huge canvas, they maximize space and minimize the need to add items. Straight up stylin' man. Y: Singh had a very positive impact on me, the price was right, selection was great, employees were nice, and the venue was clean and spacious. I can easily say they got me YEARNING for more! Signh's menu is small and looks simple. Do not let that fool you! Each and every dish at this spot is DELICIOUS! Their lemongrass chicken and brisket bahn mi's are DELICIOUS! Sometimes, when I order brisket bahn mi's there's not a lot of flavor. Singh's brisket is bursting with flavor. Their shrimp rice bowls are crazy good. The rice is a coconut rice and the fried shrimp are HUGE. Another one of my fave things here are their chili oil ribs. They're so crispy and salty, but then you add their pickled veg to a bite of rib and it's perfection. read more

Their food truck has been around for a while, but the restaurant just opened up on St. Mary's Street last week. My husband and I tried it for lunch, and it's excellent! The menu is simple for now--just a few items. My husband and I both got vermicelli bowls (Bun). His had the brisket and mine had the battered shrimp. They had the perfect mixture of noodles, vegetables, meat, and spices. The cilantro, basil, and mint in the bowl were all so *fresh*! The chili oil is fantastic. The egg rolls were unusual in a very good way. I think there was a kind of mushroom in there? Each of our entrees was $9, which was more than reasonable considering how filling and excellent they were. The menu options for now involve sandwiches, noodles, rice, and cabbage. I also saw that they have wings, which they spell "winghs" (cute). There's no pho or anything like that yet. The decor is sort of upscale industrial. Cool mural and comfortable seats. Swanky, quiet electronic music. Plenty of light from the window front. Nice spot on the slightly quieter end of the St. Mary's strip. They have two rooms, one with a large bar. I imagine that they will expand in the future, but they seem to be easing into it. Excellent food and atmosphere. I hope this place sticks around the neighborhood! read more

So good! Had the Chili Oil Ribs. Spicy, crispy, oh so yummy! Split Pork Bánh Mi with my sis. The bread is toasted which really gives the sandwich it's personality. You just have to try it. We've been waiting for the brick and mortar Singh's location to open for several months as we're big fans of the truck but don't live anywhere near La Cantera. The new, more central location has the exact same menu and food quality as the truck. We were hoping for an expanded menu, truth be told, but what they make is excellent so we can't really complain. The brisket in particular is one of the best preparations I've ever had - crispy on the outside, soft and succulent on the inside, with incredible flavor to boot. We know they are new to the "real restaurant" game, having just opened a few days ago, so we assume that the slow food delivery will be sorted out. We also hope they will start using real reusable dishes and silverware instead of the disposable ones like at the truck. Overall, highly recommended, just like the original location. read more

Look, their brisket is top notch and their attention to how they prepare this piece of meat is gold. Their wings are so freaking good and it's become a staple in our home that Sings Wings are a must for our taste buds. The ribs and the shrimp are absolutely worth the satisfaction you get with your taste buds. Our household is obsessed. Tried out this place on a whim and was so impressed! After being indecisive for five minutes and possibly annoying the guy at the front, I ordered the bahn mi with brisket. I am a bad Texan and am not a fan of brisket but I decided to try it out. I'm so glad I did because it was delicious! I didn't even get to try my friend's bun because I was so focused on my food. The bread is so soft and amazing and the meat is perfect. I would like to go back and try something new but it will be tough because of how much I liked the bahn mi. Aside from the food I love the art inside and the vibe overall is really chill. The following day I read an article about the place in the Current and it made me like it even more. Seriously came here on a whim. I was hungry. This place was close. It was nice to go somewhere no really knowing what to expect. I enjoyed the clean lines, the big art on the wall and the set up (a mix of muted lighting, high and low tables, bar seating and booths). I asked our cashier what we should order, as the recommended the bún ( I think that's the one with the noodles). I ordered that, egg rolls, and the hot chili oil ribs. The ribs were crunchy like they had been fried without a coating. I found them a bit tasteless. I wanted more meat on them. The appetizer comes with 4. The noodle bowl was surprising. I could have sworn that it had broth in it but to my surprise it didn't. It came with hot chili oil on the side and another sauce. I dumped both in and it was perfect. I enjoyed that the bowl was filling but had different flavors than I was used to ( like the combination between mint and cilantro). I can't get enough of Singh's. At this point I have tried everything on the menu and can truly say that every dish and sandwich is to die for! Flavorful, tender meat...the best sauces...amazing sandwiches. I just keep coming back. I really wish I could give 5 stars, I really do. But to be honest, there's still a little struggle during the lunch rush. Last time I was at Singh's with a group of 8, I didn't get my food until everyone else at my table finished theirs and all I ordered was a banh mi. Every time someone would bring up an order for someone at my table, they would tell me mine would be right out...thirty minutes later it finally arrived. Singhs is a Vietnamese fusion spot in San Antonio. They used to be a food truck, but this is now their brick and mortar location. I really didn't know what to expect since from the name, you expect Indian food - but this place is solid. Came in kind of munchy, so ordered the chili oil ribs, some winghs, and a vermicelli bowl to share. Definite favorite would be the chili oil ribs - I'd highly recommend those. Those came out fantastic - spicy and crispy, just the way I wanted them. Everything else was pretty good, and we left quite satisfied. It's not the best Vietnamese food, but it's fresh, delicious, and a wonderful addition to the San Antonio food scene. read more

I am not going to lie - the food here is delicious. I have eaten here about twice a week for about a year now. Unfortunately, the customer service is a complete disaster. We went there on Friday night and had to wait 30 minutes for 2 cocktails. We had already finished eating our meals. And the guy who worked in Singh's kitchen called his buddy at the towing company to come tow a patron. That was messed up! Luckily we were able to locate the patron before he towed the car. A few weeks ago I went and their computer systems were down and we could not order any food unless you had cash on you. They suggested we order through Uber Eats. Today, I ordered through Toast Tab and made the effort to drive over only to be told that my order had not been placed. I was eventually refunded the money on my credit card but I could have saved on the gas money. read more

I'm a huge fan of Vietnamese, and this city has a couple of decent options. Berni near the medical center and Pho Ha Long aren't too shabby, but it's a trek, so I was excited to find this place close to my work. This place is all atmosphere and no pho. Aside from that, the options are slim. Plus, the iced coffee is made from a mix, the portions are small and everything is overpriced. To add insult to injury, they charge an extra $1 for the spice. I repeat, they charge for spice in San Antonio. So, that's $14 for the bland lunch option (1 entree and 1 coffee). For my $14, I'd eat better at that joint in olmos park. At least, they have soups and they throw in all the spice that you can handle for free. read more
