24" Chicken Plate
Haleh M.

The absolute best! Seriously it never disappoints! I got the 24" shawarma plate and ate half for dinner and saved the rest for lunch. If you want authentic shawarma this right here is 10000/10. The employees are so kind and hospitable...truly some of the kindest people I've ever come across. Making the food even more good. Can't wait to come back for more deliciousness!!

12" Beef Plate

I'd seen Sincerely Syria across the street from the parking lot on the corner of Fair Oaks and Green, and wanted to try it. I ordered the 12" beef plate which came with cut pieces of beef shawarma wrap, French fries, pickles and tahini. The French fries were very hot and crispy with a nice color and very good potato flavor. The beef wrap was pretty good but pretty oily. In fact the oil was dripping out of the wrap to the point where it was a bit unappetizing for me. Others might find it to be "juicy" but to me it was just oily. The beef tasted a little gamey, but not in an unpleasant way like the oiliness. Perhaps, I'd do much better with a chicken wrap the next time I'm there. However, Father Nature Lavash wraps is just a block away and they have excellent chicken shawarma wraps. That is why I opted to try the beef at Sincerely Syria.

Recently tried Sincerely Syria in Old Town Pasadena with my parents--and it exceeded expectations. I grew up in Syria and have spent 20+ years in the U.S., and I've been chasing that authentic chicken shawarma ever since. Most places don't quite get it right. This one does. If you're used to the Americanized version, it may taste a little different--but this is what real Syrian shawarma tastes like: well-balanced, flavorful, and not overly heavy. The ambiance is simple and unfussy, but it adds to the charm--Arabic music playing on the TV, a cozy booth setup, and warm wood tones that give it a casual, homey feel. My parents struck up a conversation in Arabic with the owner, which led to such a warm, generous moment--he offered us drinks and a beef shawarma on the house. I didn't try the beef, but they loved it. Portions are generous (easily shareable), and every bite was on point. Between the food and the genuine Syrian hospitality, this place stands out. Will absolutely be back.

6" chicken wrap

6" chicken wrap dine in for ~$9. Good garlic flavor and nicely charred chicken. Came with cold yogurt on the side. Cute little shop, no restrooms. Place your order at the window on the back. Fast preparation and nice booths.

Chicken shawourma with garlic sauce and crispy potato .

The chicken shawarma is incredibly juicy, perfectly seasoned, and shaved fresh off the spit with just the right balance of garlic sauce and pickles. Every bite is tender and packed with flavor--no dryness at all, which is rare. The beef shawarma is just as impressive--rich, slightly crispy on the edges, and full of deep, savory spices. Wrapped in warm, fresh bread (or served as a plate), it hits that perfect balance between comfort food and authentic street-style . Outstanding seasoned crispy potato . Service is friendly, portions are generous, and the overall vibe is casual but welcoming--exactly what you want from a go-to shawarma spot. Bottom line: If you love chicken and beef shawarma, this is one of the best places in Los Angeles. Easily a repeat visit spot.

No frills, no nonsense, just some incredible chicken (I'm sure the beef is great too). I had the chicken wrap, which is one of practically only two menu items. Prices are very reasonable for how much meat you get. There's really not much else to say other than you need to try this place if you are a shawarma fan. I'll be back very soon!

Had heard great things about Sincerely Syria so was excited they opened a location in Old Town. Walked in on a Friday afternoon only to see the restaurant empty. Not totally surprising since it was in between the lunch and dinner rush. Walked to the back of the restaurant where you will find only 1 man taking orders and making the food. We ordered the beef-lamb wrap and a chicken plate. The beef-lamb wrap was pretty good and didn't have a strong gamey smell. Did enjoy the crispy pita like wrap but was disappointed the beef was cold. I did notice the man trying to ignite the döner so perhaps the beef isn't a popular item? The chicken wrap was good and the fries were well seasoned. Did enjoy the garlic spread but still think Zankou's garlic dip is still the best. May head back but honestly I think I'd rather head to Father's Nature if craving a shawarma.

Well that was that

Sooooooooo sooooo sooooo good. Just as good as the the one in Hollywood. I've never had a bad experience and everyone I've brought here has been blown away. And sooo cheap and generous. Place is empty:( People need to get out and eat this!!!

Dry chicken.

5 Stars friendly lady. 3 Stars for the food. Chicken was very dry & chewy. Bread was not fresh. Hummus was cold.

Parking was easy, and so was the dining experience. The interior decor was light, quiet, and appropriate. The service was welcoming, interactive, and patient. Unsure of what to expect, Yelp was perfect with some recommendations. I visited with a friend, and we had their Special Tea, Samsa, Big Plate Chicken, Traditional Laghman, and Stir-Fried Broccoli. While waiting, I thought that the food was a cross between Chinese and Indian, and the geography later confirmed my hypothesis. The Special Tea is a treat, and it definitely runs very sweet and floral. If you like traditional Chinese tea, you may not be a fan. (I do not recommended the tea for dinner. Several cups of this can easily keep you up at night!) The Samsa were a nice appetizer; I'm often not a fan of samosas or the texture of what I saw. However, I enjoyed eating the Samsa. I may not touch foods that look like this, but the Samsa here I will devour! The Big Plate Chicken was delicious, and we enjoyed the chewiness of the noodles and the thick sauce. The Big Plate Chicken was in fact a big plate... we definitely didn't finish this one! The Traditional Laghman had beef and vegetables which were also very tasty. The Stir-Fried Broccoli was cooked perfectly, super crisp and sauced just right. (It was a little on the heavier side but still very delicious.) For dessert, we had their Homemade Yogurt, which reminded me of a Persian dessert that a friend gave me. It was a nice, sweet of spices - very yummy! Overall, we enjoyed the dining experience. That many visitors may be unfamiliar with Uyghur cuisine is likely commonplace, and we appreciated our server's patience and walkthroughs.

There is a massive pressure felt by all Los Angel-inos when we host guests from different parts of…read morethe country. Not only do we have to chaperone the visiting friends to tourist hot spots that we generally avoid in everyday life; but even the restaurants we choose as dining options need to be positioned on a perfect pedestal that impresses but is still comfortable. A very close friend of mine from Nashville visits the City of Angels once a year; and I always feel the stress to impress in regards to dining. In 2026, we decided on a more casual dinner than our usual upscale entertainments and opted for Pasadena. Of course, I turned to Yelp and that is how I discovered Café Santorini. Café Santorini has been a favorite dining option in the Old Pasadena neighborhood of Pasadena since 1993 on the intersection of West Union and De Lacey (a block from Colorado Blvd) nestled in one of the famous historic red-brick buildings with alley alcoves that makes Old Pasadena so beloved. Café Santorini encapsulates European love that is as warm as its bricks uniting the culinary richness of Italy, Greece and Morocco in semi-upscale/trendy real estate with iron railings, high ceilings, exposed brickwork, duct beams and glossy wood surfaces that is both inviting and will absolutely entice tourists and residents, alike. Whether seeking indoor dining bar-adjacent with tables or booths or the lovely outdoor second-floor patio alcove overlooking the plant-filled alleys below; Café Santorini is quite pleasant on the eyes. My Nashville-based friend and I made a reservation for an early dinner at 4pm on a Saturday and Café Santorini was already filled to the gills and bustling with activity (granted, there was a Guns n Roses concert at the nearby Rose Bowl in the evening). Opting to sit outdoors due to the loud volume in the dining room; we had a perfect ratio of casual and date-worthy. Café Santorini is seamless with its 'vibe'. To begin the evening, we opted for some cocktails with a Smoke and Citrus Paloma (grapefruit and lime juice, smoked sea salt agave syrup and soda water, alcohol free at $12 but I made it alcoholic with mezcal) for me while my friend ordered a traditional margarita on the rocks (no salt) as we gazed the menu and also decided on sharing a Grape Leaves appetizer (rice, herbs, tomato paste - $16). If you are Celiac like myself and need gluten-free options, Café Santorini is AMAZING in its GF options (also dairy free and vegan dishes) with more choices than usual competitor restaurants which that alone makes it stand out from the crowd. Our drinks arrived in classy and colorful derivations with my paloma holding a seducing orange hue akin to a setting California sun with dried rosemary and dried fruit with the margarita being perfectly yellow-ish green with a dried lime. My paloma was delicious with an ideal combination of sweet to alcohol and smoke with the margarita being refreshing and tangy. I am quite picky with grape leaves having friends from the Middle East living in the US but Café Santorini's grape leaves (5 pieces) are delicious both in texture and flavor without being too bitter which is sometimes the case. For dinner I chose the Branzino (Grilled Mediterranean sea bass, lemon Greek potatoes, dill, capers- $42) while my friend wasn't super famished and decided on Greek Salad Horiatiki (Valdivia Farms tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, Anaheim peppers, red onions, Kalamata olives, feta cheese, lemon juice - $17). One of my favorite details of Café Santorini is their capacity to present elegant dishes that are still simple and not pretentious on plateware that encompasses Greece itself with colorful mosaic prints and painted motifs. The ingredients are fresh, colorful and artfully displayed. My Branzino was faultless: grilled perfectly with charred grill marks and crispy skin (large filet) with capers and fresh dill with fingerling potatoes based under the fish soaking up the lemon juices. Delightful! The Greek Salad Horiatiki allowed the garden-fresh veggies to truly shine even with the lemon juice/oil and large piece of feta making it a perfect summer option. Service at Café Santorini is friendly and a family-like atmosphere with every staff member acknowledging you as you saunter by, answering all questions and constantly smiling. Café Santorini is an overall pleasant joy of an experience. Whether you need to impress out-of-state friends or simply seeking Mediterranean fare in Old Pasadena; Café Santorini is a musty-try for a casual meets elegance dining experience.

0/5 -- If negative stars existed, this place would have earned them…read more I've had disappointing restaurant experiences before, but this one deserves its own category. The food was a complete disaster. Somehow it managed to arrive looking tired, tasting worse, and costing enough to make me question every decision that led me through the front door. I've had gas-station food prepared with more care. Then there was the bus boy. I'm still trying to figure out how someone whose job is supposed to help keep the dining room running smoothly managed to make the experience even more uncomfortable. The attitude was unbelievable. Apparently basic courtesy was not included with the meal. But the real highlight was the owner. You'd think someone who owns a restaurant would understand that hospitality involves actually caring about the people spending money in the establishment. Instead, the attitude was dismissive and completely uninterested in making a bad situation better. If this is how the owner handles unhappy customers, the rest of the experience suddenly makes perfect sense. And then they brought the bill. That was probably the funniest part of the evening. The prices belonged to a restaurant offering an exceptional dining experience. Unfortunately, nobody told the food, the bus boy, or the owner. I came in expecting dinner. I left feeling like I had paid admission to an expensive lesson about where never to eat again. Save your money. Save your appetite. Most importantly, save yourself the aggravation. I wouldn't come back if the meal were free.
