They helped us move in to our new house. The guys were very professional, punctual and courteous. Nothing was too much to handle. They handled our furniture with care particularly our dressers, beds and washer and dryer. Every item was wrapped and protected especially during this pandemic. They wore their masks so I felt safe. I will definitely recommend them and use their services in the future. I felt the cost matched the quality of service. You will not be disappointed! read more

I found it strange that the company wanted me to write a review before my things were delivered. So I waited and I'm glad I did. The guys were on time and took everything with no problems. When they delivered my things they were in a rush not giving me time to check things out. The one box I wrote glass on all sides and put fragile handle with care stickers came busted open. Of course 4 glasses were broken, It would have been more but I padded the box. It was they didn't read the box or they just didn't care. My dresser had a small gash like they banged it against something. Then they broke two draw brackets from my custom made draws and just put the draws in so I won't see it. Before signing paperwork that your things came ok just check them out before and do not let them rush you. Oh the guys also were complaining about the things were heavy, if your paid to pick up things you should be prepared to lift and not complain. read more

Nice friendly and professional guys. Arrived on time and were quick and efficient packers and unpackers. Had the best price compared to their competitors for me during the time I moved. read more

I had to move last minute and I will always be grateful they had last minute services available. In two days they were able to move pretty much all of my property except a huge closet which in retrospect I should have taken apart, but there was no time. They ended up breaking a part of it, but the company had no problem reimbursing me for the damage. The movers invited my husband and I to ride with them in their truck as they moved our stuff to the Manhattan Mini storage. That was a big bonus. I was impressed by their polite gesture. I was impressed by their dedication to providing exceptional service in communicating with us about our items regarding how it should be handled. The movers arrived half a hour late, but their kindness and speed with the move made up for the tardiness. I did not use them for a second move I had because their price was not within my budget unfortunately and I received a better deal with another moving company. However, I would definitely recommend them if you are not on a specific budget. They are not wildly expensive, but they are not the most affordable on big moves. They provided a quick and warm moving experience- and thats whats important in considering them for your move. read more

Easily the worst moving experience I've ever had! My simple 1-bedroom, 30-block Manhattan move turned into a 3-day ordeal that damaged $2,000+ of property and caused countless hours of stress, aggravation, and frustration. Simply Moving is simply dishonest, careless and potentially fraudulent. I booked Simply Moving though Unpakt after seeing positive reviews on Yelp and it was a huge mistake. A longer description of my move is below. Day 1 of my move began with the movers showing up 3 hours late. Then the movers ran out of space in their abnormally small truck. It seemed like they already had another person's furniture in the truck before they even showed up to my apartment. Since the movers were late in arriving and slow in packing, they did not make it to my new apartment in time to unload the full truck before the freight elevator shut down. End Result after Day 1: about 1/3rd of my belongings made it to my new apartment, 1/3rd of my belongings remained in the truck (since they were unable to unload them in time), and 1/3rd of my belongings were still in my old apartment (since the mover's truck was not large enough plus they ran out of time due to their initial tardiness). The movers took the truck with my belongings back to the Bronx for the night. Day 2: the next day the movers were supposed to show up to my old apartment early in the morning to finish the job. Instead, the movers were completely unreachable until the early afternoon. At that point, the movers told me their truck had broken down on 2nd Ave on the way to my apartment. As a result, nothing happened on day 2 and my belongings remained divided between my old apartment, new apartment, and the truck, respectively. The movers promised me they would be at my old apartment first thing at 9 am on day 3 (July 1st) to finish the move. I cancelled my holiday weekend plans to accommodate the move. Day 3: The movers did not show up to my old apartment in the morning and were once again unreachable. Finally, around noon, I heard from the movers (I had called the general moving line many times at this point). The movers told me they were stuck in traffic but on their way to my old apartment. Finally, at 2:45 PM on July 1st they showed up at my old apartment. I was told that the delay was due to the mechanical issues with the truck again. As a result, the movers had to rush to move the remaining items out of my old apartment. It was during this rush that the movers damaged a number of my belongings. To their credit, the movers did finally complete the move that afternoon. I've moved four times in NYC now and this was far and away the worst move I've ever had. Please don't believe any of the positive reviews for Simply Moving. This company is fraudulent and reckless. read more

Have moved many times and have never had this experience. Carlos is the only one that apologized for the mess of a moving day we had. - Not enough movers came -the head mover had a crap attitude - truck was too small - called Rock in the morning and told him al this but since the head mover wanted to keep the tip money he went with him and didn't send anyone else until 1pm. -The head mover couldn't speak English but that was who I needed to communicate with. ??? - damaged rental house door -damaged renal house driveway - damaged and broke items - left tape, candy wrappers, and water bottles all over new house driveway - more movers came at the end of the day and they were even telling our original movers to MOVE IT and they were too slow and not working well. - The final bill was $2,350 so we gave a 20% tip on that which is $470. The head mover told my husband they wanted $40 more. He left them to go to the bank since they would not leave until they got it. That is over 20% on a job they didn't do well. - Everyone acted like they were doing us a favor and helping us move. Even Rock acted like he had better places to be and we should just be happy with what we got. - We both worked and moved with the movers all day. I never just relaxed and watched the move like Rock and Carlos told us we would do. - Carlos is the only one that apologized and was professional. - quick to charge us more money but slow to move us and be accountable for the poor job the movers did they subcontracted this job out to. - USE MOISHE read more

***Offered me 700.00 for my damaged door.. never received it.. when I questioned them, they said to take down my review first!*** I am the home owner of the tenant that moved out. Simply Moving came 3 hours late. They cracked my door frame, dented my metal door in 4 places and put a small hole in my wall. When I spoke with Stephan about this, he accused me of complaining to his movers prior to them coming in my house. I never spoke or saw the movers because I had to go out. it took them 3 weeks to get back to me after numerous emails. They sent a shoddy contractor who did not complete the job nor did he have the correct supplies. He was using interior paint on a metal exterior door. When I questioned him he said it was only primer and he would be back the next day to finish.. he never came back.. He also spilled paint all over my deck. Stephan and Anthony did not send anyone back and told me they wont. Please contact me if you would like to see the damages. Update: I am now being contacted by them due to the poor review. I have decided to do the work myself and leave the review up. read more

I used Simply Moving for the first time last year in 2016. The experience was so good, I used the service again this year Sept 2017 and it was just as seamless as the first time. Moving is such a headache but this company really gets it and with as little hassle as possible. The whole staff from the booking reps to the actual moving team are friendly. The price isn't so bad compared to many other NYC moving companies. Would recommend! read more

They arrived late, then disappeared during the commute for about 2 hours with all my worldly possessions. They then proceeded to park far away from my actual entrance and dragged my mattress and everything else through the dirty streets to the entrance. Several items were damaged and some items were missing. Got $150 bucks back which is not enough to compensate for the horrible experience. Go with Oz or Flatrate- worth the money. read more

These movers were on time, very professional and did a great job. This is my 2nd time using them and I would definitely use them again.

This is the easiest move that I've ever experienced. I needed to relocate to from Jersey City to Boston. First, Anthony went to my apt and gave me a fair estimate. On the day of moving, Bob, Nick and Ved came to pack and load my stuff (a fully packed 1 bedroom) in 3 hours. The next morning Bob and Ved drove to my new apt and unloaded everything in 2 hours. Nothing was broken and no extra charge at all. They guys are very nice and efficient. I would highly recommend them to anyone who's looking to move! read more

These guys are not only "simply moving", but they should be called simply amazing, too. I just used them to move from a 6th floor walk up studio to a 1 bedroom in Queens. Although there were 5 flights to climb up and down where I was moving from, and only 2 of them, they were very quick, they wrapped all my furniture and they handled all my belongings with so much care. Nothing left behind, nothing scratched, nothing damaged. And, by the way: they were both courteous and professional and the rate was more than fair. Overall, it was a pleasure using them. 5 stars across the board! read more

To preface, I have moved way too many times in the past 4 years so I have come to understand what fast, efficient movers are. I was moving a a small 1 bedroom apartment from Hoboken to Forest Hills. I didn't have TOO much stuff (no couch, no coffee table, no tv stand). The 2 men that came to do the job were both very nice and worked as hard as they could and I felt very bad for them. First, they arrived after 10am for my 8am-10am window which wasn't off to a great start. It took them over an hour and a half to move my stuff down the stairs (that's fine, it was a narrow walk up with only 2 men working). We finished in Hoboken at around 11:45am and I rushed to take the subway to Queens to make sure that I would beat them there. 1pm ... 2pm ... 3pm... nowhere to be found. I called the main office who told me that they are stuck in traffic. I really doubt it took 3.5 hours midday - I have done that drive a million times at all different hours. If you stopped for lunch that is totally acceptable, don't lie and tell me it was traffic! I could have gone to do useful errands instead of twiddling my thumbs for 3 hours. read more

I cannot believe how smoothly our move went. We were moving from a walk-up building to an elevator building. The movers were right on time, careful with our stuff, and moved quickly. The movers were also friendly and professional. We had minor damage on a dresser and when we brought it to the foreman's attention he was professional and courteous about it (didn't try to deny or minimize it). The company sent a handyman to come fix the damage. The handyman seemed disorganized and flakey - but once he actually came, he did a great job with the dresser, and he was nice too. Overall, we were very satisfied with the move! I cannot rave enough about Simply Moving! I will definitely turn to them for all our future moves, and recommend them to friends and family. read more

Save your money and go elsewhere. I used this place months ago to move from Queens to Jersey. They did a decent job. There were typical scratches but nothing major so I called again for another move. And, there's no loyalty for return customers. I was quoted nearly $600 to move less than a mile to an apartment a few blocks down. Yet, the price when I moved from NY to NJ was $450... Not only that but I've paid only $100 more to move all the way down to Florida! Dont trust your moving to a business with horrible customer service that doesn't care for the client. For that service, you think the price would match... read more

Best moving experience ever! Flat rate with tolls, COI etc included - still came out as one of the cheapest quotes we got! We got a 2-hour window for the movers' arrival and they were on time. The movers were super friendly and positive! Will definitely use this company if have to move again. read more

Service I worked with a startup called Moved.com, who highly recommended this moving company. Was originally quoted for an early afternoon move - I requested a morning one and paid extra for it because of high demand. I get a window of 8am - 10am, but the movers called at 9am saying they can't arrive until 11. Apparently they had another move that morning and couldn't make my appointment in time. "It's a small move" he said. Left an email to Erica, who manages bookings. Of course, no reply. 11am rolls around and I call the office to check in. Erica stated that the movers are out of the original window of 8a - 10a because of traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge. A lie, because the moving team texts me a screenshot of Google Maps showing he was coming from Williamsburg. I didn't mention this, because I bet Erica's job is to take money and deal with pissed people all day. Not the easiest role :/ Erica said she's going to check in with dispatch and call me back in 5m with an update. She never called back. I want to comment, though, that I've been nothing but courteous and kind, in case people assume I'm just a mean person complaining. I get that this is a cutthroat industry with tight margins, but I don't like being lied to. I'd rather a company be honest and upfront. If they weren't going to do the 8am move, then say so. I see a ton of good reviews for these guys, but also a small number of really terrible ones. I always give the benefit of doubt on Yelp. Especially for moving companies because moving is high stress, and maybe people are just angry when posting in Yelp. The end result - not exactly what I wanted as my entire day was delayed a good 3 hours, but the movers were awesome. The move I completely underestimated my move and ended up having 30boxes instead of the 20. I expected a surcharge for this. I didn't have any additional furniture, just way more boxes than expected. The movers were super nice about it. No surcharge, but asked if I could take care of the team after. Apologized for the delay and was extremely courteous the whole time. They managed to move out a wardrobe they were scared would be too large. In fact, they did a fantastic job trying to prevent damage. The lead was being really nice and kind throughout the entire experience. You could tell they cared about your stuff as they were careful about every item they brought over. Would I go with these movers again? Yes. Simply Moving, probably not. Logistics is key to success, and that's where the ball was dropped here. read more

This company is great. I thank the yelp community for their great reviews as this is what caused me to book their services. They gave me a flat rate quote and made it easy to book a last minute move. Simply moving did my move for a fraction of the cost of other companies, and everything went very smoothly. They were responsive and flexible as I tweaked my inventory, and the quote they gave me was spot-on. They moved me into my 6th floor walk-up within an hour, and were very nice and friendly. read more

Moved from Manhattan to Queens. One studio's worth of furniture and items. PROS: 1. They called to tell me they were running late. They were scheduled to arrive between 9-10am and arrived after 10:15am 2. Moved boxes quickly and efficiently out of old apt 3. Dealt with typically difficult Manhattan traffic conditions and street cleaning CONS: 1. DAMAGED FURNITURE - bookcase corners were not covered and all damaged, captain's bed wood cracks and I had to provide carpenters glue to "fix" it 2. TV mount hastily dismounted and screws missing after the move -- they barely dismounted the TV and then gave me the screws attached to the mount in my hand. Not even in a zip lock or envelope and one large screw was missing 3. DAMAGED NEW APT WALLS - they moved and put together a captain's bed and damaged my new bedroom wall -- scaffolding falling apart I brought up the damages and they were like, "meh, okay." Overall, I thought they were nice but unprofessional and lackadaisical about the move. Of course, nobody cares about your things more than you do, but I would think that they would do the bare minimum for furniture damage protection. Would not recommend or use again. read more

They are the worst movers we have ever used in 30 years of moving. They damaged and broke several pieces of furniture and did not pay to replace or repair. They made a deep scratch in our wooden floor since they didn't lift a chair but rolled it across the floor. They took a $5000 coffee table, wrapped it in cellophane and instead of lifting it they rolled it on it edge chipping and denting the table all around. We were downsizing to a two bedroom apartment. We packed 90% of the apartment ourselves. They spent 8 hours packing the remainder of the apartment the day before the move then it took them 12 hours to complete the move the next day moving 30 blocks. I could go on and on. I would never recommend them. read more

BEST MOVING COMPANY !!! - Highly recommended to anyone who need reliable /stressful free movers ! We decided to move from NYC to Hollywood, Florida, and was looking for a reliable moving company, I was referred to Simply Moving by a friend, and I don't think I can say enough good things about them! The all process was simple and smooth : I had Antony coming to our apartment to do in House estimate (Long distance). Antony was very professional and knowledgeable, and he gave us an accurate moving estimate . While searching for movers I was reading about all these companies that give you an estimate and at the day of the move they charge you double. This wasn't the case here - Antony listed all our inventory and then send me by email the moving estimate quote. AND THIS IS WHAT WE PAID - NOT A DOLLAR MORE! Antony made the whole process of moving extremely pleasant and stress less for us. The movers arrived right on time and quickly load everything to the track ( it took them less then 1hr). Today we got our stuff in Florida and again everything was perfect, they quickly unload everything and put everything in place. Simply Moving was just amazing!! (specially all of thanks to Antony which I think he is asset to the company) everything from setting up the move and to pick up and deliver it in Florida. I had to call them few times to change the address (to storage unit) and change the moving date delivery- they totally understood and accommodate us and didn't even charged us extra for additional week of storage. I highly recommend to use them ! read more

Simply Moving provided great service at a reasonable price. We scheduled a relatively last minute move within Brooklyn. Mike from sales was very clear in his communication in terms of what service would be included and was responsive throughout. The three-man crew arrived on time on the day of the move and they were professional and accommodating. They showed great care with our belongings and moved us from point A to point B quite quickly. I used Simply Moving for a long-distance one-bedroom move from Manhattan to Austin, TX. Overall, I was very happy with the quality of the service - from the initial in-apartment consultation to moving day to the dropoff in Texas. Everyone was professional, friendly (that's important in NYC!), and hardworking. Perhaps most importantly, two of the people I talked to told me how much they liked working at Simply Moving when we were chatting at one point. There were two movers in NYC, who were both fast and thorough at wrapping all of my furniture and loading my boxes, and a different two in Austin, who were similarly quick. Nothing was lost or damaged or scratched. The only downside was communication after they had moved me out. As a one-bedroom move, my things were combined with other shipments on the way to Austin since I don't own enough to fill a truck, and as a result, it took nearly three weeks for my belongings to arrive. They were still within contract - it's 5-21 days for a cross-country move - but I got radio silence from them after my moving day. I left a lot of voicemails and emails during week two for my point-of-contact, when I began to get worried. I finally got ahold of customer service the end of that week, who informed me the truck was leaving the next day, and the driver would reach out to me the day before they arrived. Given how good the rest of the experience was, I'm only docking one star for the communication. Moving is obviously an incredibly stressful time - especially the part about trusting all of your worldly possessions to total strangers - and I'm relieved I could trust Simply Moving. However, it would also help the stress for future customers to have more insight into the schedule, especially if they weren't in as flexible a situation as I was. read more

First time I've ever felt like leaving 10 stars Instead of 5. They went so above and beyond. I moved to midtown Manhattan from another part of midtown. They gave great price quote. Team was professional and efficient. Wrapped up my furniture and bed carefully. Artwork was put in boxes. They got both buildings COIs super fast. The whole move took only a few hours, and I have a TON of stuff. They originally came recommended to me by my real estate broker who found me my new place. I figured I'd try them. They exceeded all my expectations on so many levels. No Upsells price stayed the same. I'm very hesitant to recommend service professionals to family and friends, so they don't take it out on me if they have a bad experience. I CAN WHOLEHEARTEDLY RECOMMEND Simply move. So good to know I don't have to get a bunch of quotes and spend that headache time picking a company. Next time I move, straight to simply move. Give this company SERIOUS consideration when choosing your moving company. If you blindly chose them and didn't do any homework, I guarantee you'd be impressed. The movers that helped us with our move were fantastic. They were very quick moving us in and out and did a really great job considering it was raining quite hard outside.
