What a treasure! I visited this yummy spot for the first time today and I'm in love. I think it's safe to say this may become a habit. It is conveniently located in the same shopping center as YMCA and an easy place to get a healthy meal after working out. A friend and I were trying to decide between McDonalds and she suggested this instead. So glad she did! Not only is the food more healthy but it also tastes better. They offer delicious and healthy bowls as well as nutritional smoothies. All the employees are super friendly, efficient and helpful. We both had our three year olds with us and were able to have them snack on the meal with us. I also tried the green kale smoothie and it was delicious. My friends three year old drank the other half, it was that good. I didn't get a chance to try their coffee but that will have to be next time. I moved last year from Los Angeles to NY and I am delighted to have found this spot to fill my craving for healthy Mediterranean food. I have been missing this kind of food so much. We ordered the family meal package during Covid so I picked it up and we ate at home. The restaurant itself is very clean. Everyone was friendly and careful. The food was great. Every piece of the package was top notch. We all enjoyed it and it was more than enough for a family of 4. I particularly liked the hummus, the tahini and the chicken. Just ate here for the first time and will definately be back. Everything is homemade and so delicious. I had greens and quinoa with chicken. Then I picked from this large assortment of additions - roasted beet hummus, red cabbage, chick peas in garlic sauce, tabouleh, eggplant and the best garlic sauce I have ever had. So good. Simone's kitchen is by far the best Mediterranean food I've had. I was raised eating Lebanese food and nothing compares to Simone's Kitchen. We've been wanting to try Simone's and finally decided to stop in! We ordered two "big Falafel Bowls" and were really happy with the choice. We also paired our food with two "Rose water Lemonades"- which we're also really tasty. The total cost for two bowls and two lemonades was $20, so it's definitely affordable. There isn't much seating, but there was a sign on the wall that said they are expanding their space soon. Overall it was a good experience and we look forward to trying other menu items! read more

Simone's finds an eager audience for Mediterranean cuisine in this decidedly conservative Upstate New York community. Partners Bashir and Sean provide a mix of Turkish, Pakistani and Indian offerings, quickly made from scratch and with a comforting and filling substance. We enjoyed a variety of items, beginning with a bowl of greens, proteins, toppings and sauces -- each one a custom dish as the customer gets to choose his favorites while proceeding along a cafeteria-style line. We were asked about food allergies and our favorite flavors, then the counter attendant suggested complementary flavors, a detail we noticed and appreciated. A piquant salsa and creamy guacamole got our mouths watering for the chunks of tofu, chicken or beef, quinoa, a total of six toppings (you choose 3), and similar, also complementary sauces. Everything is made fresh daily and Bashier happily advised Simone's had established a loyal clientele, both a lunch and dinner crowd. He is looking at all-day additions including a coffee bar for those who wish to linger a bit. Coxsackie was where most of our group attended high school. Bashier and Sean, two sharp young businesspeople, seemed very much at home here, both in their terrific restaurant and the community supporting it. We are big fans. Our family lives in California but travels all around NY state most years to visit family. Over the years we've been burned many times by sub par restaurants in rural NY that were somehow rated highly on Yelp. Not the case with Simone's... the high rating is accurate. The four of us tried signature bowls (2x falafel bowls, 1x souvlaki bowl, 1x chicken souvlaki bowl). We each made small tweaks to customize the bowls to our liking. We all enjoyed our food A LOT. Everything was very fresh and tasty. It was also super fast with friendly service. And, healthy to boot. The eating area is tiny, but a sign says they plan to bust through the wall to expand. I would not hesitate to return again--I told them to come to CA and open one near us! read more

Fresh and tasty modern Mediterranean. Be aware that the "pitza" takes a bit longer to cook than the other food which is ready to serve. It was worth the wait though, a cut above the usual pita pizza. Dips were all also very good. read more

Visited for first time over a week ago, and put a picture of my order on FB. I was really impressed by the look of the food and that they used compostable bowl, cup & straw. How awesome is that!! Had a specialty bowl with falafel and some iced tea. Delicious! I had very good service. Prompt and helpful. Maybe the other reviewer visited before they worked out a few kinks? This is my favorite place. When in need, desperate for a good meal, I go here. The food is absolutely clean. The people, know Shaun the most, are spectacular people. It advertises organic whenever possible. The price is great too. And the atmosphere. They have plenty of places to sit, but this isn't a sit down place. Sadly, they have temporarily closed because of labor shortage. Whenever I was in there, I saw great people working there. So I imagine they lasted longer than most in this labor shortage crisis. Btw, I hate to say this, but restaurant workers need to be paid more and thus we need to pay more for food. It's a tough conundrum. But I bet they treated their workers well. I hope they open again soon. I like the salad bar style serving. I like the organic vegan (or anything) friendly flexibility. I wish them well and hope to see them again soon. read more

We stopped here on our way home from visiting family. We had heard good reviews on Simone's earlier in our visit but hadn't gotten there. It was well worth the stop! Our order was ready when we came, and it was delicious! I got the regular version of the small falafel bowl. It was so good, I wished I had gotten the large bowl. Every bite was different because they pack so many things into each bowl--but all of them were soooo good! Loved the smoky eggplant! Small warning: I chose spicy sauce on the falafel, and it did live up to its name. Leave off if you prefer a milder taste. But go, just go there! read more

Every time I come in, I'm greeted with the same smiling faces and know I'm going to get the best quality food and the best hospitality. Simone's is a great addition to Coxsackie and I know I'll always get a fresh, great meal when I come in. We have been looking forward to trying this place and yesterday was the day! Daughter and I grabbed a Souvlaki bowl and stuffed grape leaves to sample for lunch. It was delish! The place is neat, clean , stainless steel etc. so seemed like a "safe" spot to order for a few minutes with a pandemic going on. Everyone in masks. Can't wait to go back as options seemed very tempting and the smells....were wonderful! Service was very efficient. My very slight hesitation was the creamy garlic sauce on grape leaves, it seemed like mayo with lots of garlic. It is easy enough to push aside though if you do not want a glob of mayo. Grape leaves were so delicious they didn't even need sauce! They used cardboard bowls (hooray! Not plastic), just wish they could find a tin or cardboard lid for it. read more

My coworkers and I order here a lot and the food is always fantastic. It's especially great for the vegetarian in our group. The falafel bowl is one of my favorites and they have some of the best stuffed grape leaves I've ever had. Their start was a little rocky service wise (sometimes the wait could be lengthy, but the food is so worth it). They recently added baklava to their menu and it's amazing.
