Chicken Mole enchiladas
Melanie N.

This is a great little hidden restaurant. You wouldn't know it was there unless you lived near it or you looked up Mexican food on Yelp. It has indoor and outdoor seating, although the indoor seating is fairly small. We love sitting outside and enjoyed the weather and the outside seating. Because th of us got enchiladas, o e was the chicken mole and the other was the shrimp enchiladas. We also got some chips and salsa and a watermelon margarita as well. Both of us loved our enchiladas, great flavor! The beans were great and the rice wasn't dried out. The salsa was fresh, but didn't have a ton of flavor. The margarita was tasty and had actual watermelon in it, I never had a watermelon margarita before, but that will be my go to when I'm there. The service was fast and friendly.

Camarones De La Diabla

Once again Yelp does not disappoint. We were looking for Mexican food and this came up. The food was awesome I had their Camarones De La Diabla. Spicy tomato based sauce with veggies and shrimp. I also had the watermelon margarita. I wasn't expecting a bonus second glass. It was made with real watermelon and very refreshing. I would definitely come here again.

Carne Azada "Dinner" for lunch. Steak was great and rice beans were pretty good with a healthy dose of salsa

Stopped in, hoping to try the Torta Ahogandas. Unfortunately, it is now a special only, not on the regular menu. After some quick internal debate, I decided on the Carne Azada "dinner", sliced carne asada, rice, beans, and guacamole salad. The steak was tender, well seasoned, and great with the grilled onions piled on. The rice and beans were fairly standard, but were definitely enhanced by the salsas. Speaking of the salsas: there are 3 main salsas, a standard salsa verde, a salsa roja, and a salsa aguacate (a creamy, avocado-enhanced salsa). While all 3 salsa had a good flavor and pleasant heat, the Aguacate took the top spot, finding its way on to most of my bites! The spot itself is just what you'd expect from a good hole-in-the-wall location. Seating for maybe 30 people, )what looked like) 2 staff members taking care of everything, and supplies stocked in the hallway, leading to the bathrooms haha! The guy that took our order was very polite and the food came out pretty quickly. I'd visit again, especially if i knew that Torta was on the specials menu!

Pollo, asada

Small taqueria in an out-of-the-way location that competes for 'Best tacos in Bend'. - Tacos: Very good street-style tacos. Not overloaded with extra 'stuff'. - Beans: somewhat bland. Fast casual: order at the counter, they'll bring out the tacos.

I will say upfront that this may be partly my fault. I am totally unaware of what El Salvadoran food is. The man who was working the register suggested the Pupusa? I thought from his description it would be the equivalent of a Gordita, which I like. Well folks it's not. It is masa like the Gordita but it's not stuffed with meat cheese and veggies. It was grilled flat with lots of oil, about the thickness of a pancake. I ordered one chicken and one pork but didn't see or taste any meat in it. Very greasy to say the least. I could only eat a couple of bites of each. The side order of guacamole was very good but expensive for the portion size.

Chicken enchiladas with beans and rice

Ordered the enchilada plate with chicken enchiladas with the red tomato based sauce. Completely inedible. Like they just threw some tomato paste on and called it good. No sauce inside the enchilada either just plain cooked chicken. How can you mess up enchiladas? Well they did

Pupusas

This was the first time I've been there and it was very good, if your a fan of pupusas or Salvadoran food this is definitely one of the places to go and enjoy some good food, and the sauce it comes with is very good not spicy at all brings a lot of flavor to the pupusas!

PURA GOZADERA!!!!!!!!! CHAUUUUU

This place is possibly the best hole in the wall mexican restaurant in Bend, Oregon, move over Rigobertos and Superburrito!!! As soon as you walk in you're welcomed by the music. We ordered two margaritas, the house special and a mango with chamoy. Fish tacos, steak fried quesadilla, steak burrito, and some tacos. The drinks came out right away. We sat outside where they have a fooseball table and a mini golf ramp! (BTW!!!! IF your looking for home made horchata, this is not the place.) Their flan is homemade too!!! They make tortillas when you order your food too!!! I would recomd this place to anyone craving amazing mexican food! Dank prices and foods with mouth watering variety of salsas, and the water refills ar free for those babies that cant handle the salsa labeled EXTRA HOT!

Bean, cheese and pork pupusas with avocado & tomatillo sauce. Curtido on the side of course!

Truly homemade authentic Mexican food. My favorite thing about this place is the price. I really enjoyed the huevos rancheros.

What a treat, this is one of Bends best kept secrets. Killer margaritas and food is bomb. Don't have anything bad to say!

Employees not the best customer service. The food was bland and my baby wouldn't even eat the beans.

Are they ever open? I have tried multiple times to eat here during normal operating hours and they're closed.

They're seldom open, don't answer the phone and the last we patronized the business my husband ended up with food poisoning. Try the joint in their old location on third street. It's great!

So on our last trip to Bend we finally made it here to the their taproom and it didn't disappoint at all. It was a great stop! We got a taster set of a variety of different beers that they had on tap and they were all quite good. Many of them have a wild ale aspect to them which I can appreciate at you don't come across this beer too much on a routine basis. The taproom is cool and I love all of their art specifically where fermentation liquids spilled onto a sheet or a cloth making various designs and hues during the brewing making process of their beers. Other excellent beers that we have had from this brewery are the Samalie which is a Wild Ale. This one I rated very highly on Untappd because it was so amazing! Things to look for in the flavor profile are sourness, tartness, fruitiness, a natural sweetness and a dry finish. Really an excellent beer! Moving on from that we had the great Ping Pong Table Beer. This was another beer I rated quite highly and enjoyed immensely. This beer is light bodies, smooth and effervescent with the flavor of elderflower at work. Another excellent beer! Definitely great beer experiences with this brewery and definitely recommend it to the more adventurous beer drinking folks. There are plenty of breweries to try out in Bend and if you are looking for something on the more unusual side The Ale Apothecary is a great place for such a thing!

Lots of food truck options and the layout is simple and easy to compare your options side by side. Drink options were plenty, though it didn't seem like you could get just a soda if you wanted one but I didn't look that hard. Ice cold self-serve water was good with me. Bartender was friendly. We ordered a couple items from the BBQ truck (will do a separate review). There appears to be a nice sized stage for live performances as well as multiple fire pits and heaters for when things cool down at night or in the winter. Parking is a decent size, though don't be fooled by your map app and turn into the shopping strip just before it, they have signs everywhere that that parking is NOT for the food trucks/on Tap. Optional street parking as well, even if the street is a little tight. Would return for sure.

It was especially festive during the holidays, with Christmas drink specials adding to the charm.
