Arriving after 6 pm , place was busy but there were still enough seating for us. Both , my wife and I were tired and very hungry from our 3 hour trip. There aren't many choices for vegetarians but my wife found the Huevos Rancheros. Fried eggs served on a crispy tortilla with refried beans, topped with warm salsa Red or Green. Chopped fresh cilantro, queso fresco, drizzled with sour cream and avocado slices... Her first experience eating the Huevos Rancheros was a good one. Very tasty . Just a little too much salsa. The dish was swimming in it. I had the Carnitas de Puerco. Slow simmered pork, quickly fried at the end. Served with arroz mexicano, refried beans, queso fresco, fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, tortillas a mano. True Mexican Cuisine. This Chef's mother's recipe is a must have... I like the little tortillas where you can put nice bites of carnitas, rice and beans, and guacamole all in one . Very flavorful. The carnitas is moist and extremely tender. Our waitris was informative, friendly, and gave us great service. Glad to have another great Mexican restaurant in the area.

There was only one server who also doubled as the bartender. She was pretty amazing in that she was handling everything and took our orders (there were four of us) without writing anything down. I figured "no way" our orders would come out correct. She proved me wrong, that's for sure. Everything was perfect and exactly as ordered. I had a burrito/enchilada plate and it was fine but not outstanding. I've had better similar orders at other places in the Central Oregon area. Others at my table loved their orders which consisted of pork chops and tacos. I will say the jalapeño margarita was the best I have ever had. Comfortable place but it is pretty small.

The food itself was good but not amazing. They did provide a small bowl of hot salsa to spice things up but the enchilada itself was not spicy. The tacos were good, and my daughter liked her quesadilla too. The service was great! The server was so understanding of us having two young kids and needing to eat fast. At one point we knocked a water over and she patiently brought us a new one, plus some extra spoons and bowls for the kids to share food. That's the main reason I'm giving it 5 stars. Hello this place is interesting and authentic…read more YELP Short Answer: Maybe, not for everyone but they are all working hard and I am sure they will be a success as time rolls on. Location: Not the best but that is kind of the allure for some. Menu: I have no idea... they need to make it a bit easier. Food Prep: None.. Food Quality: Tortillas are handmade and excellent. We have ordered out a few times and eaten in once which was less then great. Staff: More of a market, or authentic Mexican market and food shoppe, so nothing fancy and a bit confusing for some of us. Overall Value: Very high if you order correctly but if you order wrong it can be a bit pricy, like crazy expensive. TIP: it really helps if you speak Spanish and know the flow. This type of shoppe is not unique in all cities in the SouthWest, but not so much in Bend. BUY THE HANDMADE TORTILLAS, lots of them. Order beans and rice and chicken, pork, or carne asada and enjoy some fun at home. Just add your own lettuce, cheese, and sour cream and a few cold cerveza.

Bend doesn't lack for good Mexican food and Tortilleria Reyes is part of that…read more As the name implies, they make tortillas here - I assume based on the stacks in the back store area where you'll also find a few grocery shelves stocked with canned goods, condiments and other kitchen staples, including refrigerated. But it's also a taqueria, offering tacos, enchiladas, dorados, burritos, tamales and other Mexican foods including plates such as carne asada (azada). Prices are reasonable; you'll pay quite a bit more for a plate, though. - I ordered the three tacos dorados ($6) with pollo and barbacoa. Simple fried tortillas wrapped around your choice of meat, they're pretty tasty. I was hoping for the birria option I saw in another Yelper's menu photo from years ago but alas, not offered. Not sure I'd go for the enchiladas based on Camille H's recent review but maybe that was an off occurrence. Hopefully so. Reyes is a bit run down and frankly seems on the verge of closing. When I walked in, shortly after 11 on a weekday, I actually wondered whether they were still in business. The three drink fountain machines were clearly running at the counter but no employees in sight. After a while, the sole person showed up, took my order, then disappeared into the kitchen. Inside tables were clean but the mismatched tables outside decidedly were not. No condiments on the tables (or anywhere that I could see) and no salsa station (one of the things I absolutely love about taquerias is their - up 'til now - ubiquitous salsa stations). In the back grocery area, a darkened meat & cheese counter appears half abandoned. I hope this is just the way Reyes operates and not a sign of impending financial doom. Given their location, I would imagine they get a bit of lunch business from the various shops in the area. That business was not in evidence when I was there however. All in all, OK. The food is good; the ambiance is maybe not what a lot of folks might be looking for. I'd definitely come back but then, I'm a big fan of taquerias.

It was a min or two before another employee came to the desk, where she immediately answered a phone call without saying anything to us. After the call, she took our order. The food came out pretty quickly and looked decent. Unfortunately, the flavor did not deliver. I had the Achiote chicken taco and a carne asada taco. The achiote chicken didn't have a ton of flavor (which made me what their regular chicken would taste like). We make achiote chicken at home regularly and the achiote chicken burrito at DG is one of my favs. The carne asada also seemed to be lacking seasoning. On top of that, the pieces of steak were very small and crisply, almost more like bacon bits than small slices of steak. There was also waaaay too much pico and guac on the taco. The flavor of carne asada was almost completely lost. The lettuce on the achiote chicken was a little too abundant also. I would tell you about my wife's chicken rolled tacos, but they gave her beef tacos! I tried the salsa verde and ranchera salsas. They were both pretty good. At almost $4/taco, there are many places I would choose before this spot unfortunately.

She was a huge fan! I brought her back two more times before she went home which was definitely not in my bingo card for her visit. Lucy's is unassuming. It's not some fine dining restaurant. There's a counter where you order your food and they call out your order when it's ready. What you can't see from the street is the salsa bar. Holy smokes it's fresh and delicious. They have all the condiments you'd expect from traditional Mexican street foods and hot chips just sitting there. The fish tacos my mom had? They were delicious! I ordered her two thinking they were tiny. No, they were huge so I had to eat one for her. Poor me! I've had the asada on multiple occasions and it's delicious every time. For the money, the portions are huge. You definitely get your money's worth. From what I can tell, there's usually only one person manning the grill and she pumps out food so hot and delicious all the time. They even serve menduo (Mexican hangover stew) which a lot of places in LA only do on weekends. I can't say good enough things about Lucy's.
