Chicken strips
Mark W.

Super busy and jam packed parking lot but seated immediately. Ordered the chicken strips , sweet potato and broccoli The chicken stripe were actually the breast flattened out and fried. They were not greasy. The ranch dressing is made in house. Large portions and most people left with boxes. Definitely worth stopping in. Zoe took great care of me while I went thru the menu.

Some friends and I went to Silver Spring House for lunch after church and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The service was impeccable! As busy as it was, we were seated very quickly and our server was very prompt in taking drink orders. The menu is fantastic! This was my first time at SSH, so I wasn't sure what to order. I was told their chicken is amazing, but then I saw fried shrimp on the menu. I do love fried shrimp. It came with coleslaw and fries. Perfect! I did notice that there was 1 price for most of the meals, which is also nice. It was the appetizers and salads, etc. that had different pricing. Our server, at one point, just brought us pitchers to refill our drinks, which was amazing. As we were eating our lunch, the staff were decorating the outside of the restaurant for Christmas. I do love the island vibe SSH has and now it's a bit merrier with the Christmas decor. Overall, this was an excellent place to eat - the food, service, price, and ambiance were great. If I can't be at a real beach, this is a great place to go to!

First time at this unique venue. Found out that it has been around for many years and is filled with a lot of interesting memorabilia. It is huge! Lots of seating with a large bar in the center and windows along the perimeter that open up in good weather for a partial outdoor dining experience. SSH is known for its chicken, and it is served in many forms from grilled to fried to atop salads, etc. I had the Black Bean and Chicken Salad with citrus-marinated grilled chicken breast. The chicken was fantastic, the salad portion not so much. The cilantro dressing is a vinaigrette and tasted very high on the vinegar scale. For some reason, I was thinking it would be more of a creamy dressing. The greens were shredded (as mentioned on the menu). It reminded me more of a chopped salad. A nice touch is that a drink is included with your meal. Besides the grilled chicken on my salad, my other highlight was the old-fashioned. This was fantastic! Best blue corn tortilla chips I have ever had. Our server was excellent and very attentive. Some other unique things about the venue: ~free self-serve fresh popcorn from an old-fashioned popper stand ~free peanuts ~over 50 flat screen TVs ~Ohio Lottery and Ohio Lottery Keno ticket purchase

Always a good time. It's very loud always has a game on the TVs. Good place to hang out with friends. Large portions and the best chicken in Cincinnati!

Visited on a busy weekday for lunch. It was a sweltering sunny August day. With that being said I was surprised to find they did not have AC. the windows were open and there was a large drum fan positioned in the center that did provide nice air circulation. However on days like that it still gets sticky due to humidity. The interior is fairly dark with lots of wood and most of the tables are high tops. I did notice they had a wide-ranging selection of draft beers. The menu is typical bar type food with burgers and fried chicken among the items. I ordered a fried chicken salad from the lunch menu which includes the main dish and a non-alcoholic drink. The fried chicken in the salad was yummy however the whole salad was at best -ok. It had an overwhelming amount of shredded cheddar on top. Which, perhaps due to the warm weather was slightly melted. As much as I love cheese this was a little too much. There should have been more lettuce- which seemed sparse for the salad. Our server was pleasant and very attentive. The wait for food seemed long, but perhaps it was because of the busyness. The price was reasonable. Overall, I would visit here again, but it would have to be when the weather is cooler.

Went for lunch since I was in area. Chicken strips were great. My wife was disappointed in her salad, specially the dressing. Blue corn chips were great with the queso, guacamole and salsa. Love tge free popcorn. You can ask the bartender for free peanuts. 17.50 per lunch special includes a drink. Still crowded.

Think eclipse-level rare. This Saturday was no exception... except somehow we all had a lunch window. So naturally, like any responsible American family, we turned it into a food mission for BaldWhiteGuyReviews After consulting the sacred scroll of Yelp, I presented the following contenders to the Bald Group Chat Council: Broadway Barrel House - Lebanon, Ohio Cozy's Cafe & Pub - Liberty Township, Ohio Third Eye Brewing Company - Sharonville, Ohio Luigi's Ristorante Italiano - Mason, Ohio Silver Spring House Restaurant - Cincinnati, Ohio All strong contenders. But as with any family decision, chaos ensued. We landed on Third Eye Brewing... until we discovered they open at noon. Noon?! What is this, brunch for the elite?! Don't have time for that! So... runner-up takes the crown: Silver Spring House Restaurant We plugged it into Waze and cruised through Symmes Township... where every house whispered, "you can't afford me" We rolled in just after 11am. Big parking lot, filling up fast. Bright blue building screaming "vacation mode activated." Palm trees (probably fake, but there was a heated family debate ), surfboards, and even Mr. Red welcoming us like we just got traded to the Reds. Inside? Instant Florida Keys vibe. Never been... but I felt like I should be holding a fruity drink and ignoring responsibilities #RetirementGoals Decor included walls covered in 8x10 photos of what I assume are patrons. My question: how do I get MY picture up there? I too would like to silently judge people eating mozzarella sticks for eternity #TakeMyPicture Now let's talk seating...High-top tables everywhere. Perfect if you enjoy climbing furniture like it's an Olympic sport. #NoThanks Low tables? YES PLEASE. My knees and dignity thank you. At our table was a random historical photo that turned into an impromptu Civics exam. I knew the answer. No one else did. Did you pay attention to Mr. Owens at Miami Trace High School? Drop your guess below #AlwaysLearning #NoRelation Service:Our waitress, Jordon A -- fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and dropped off a PITCHER of water like a hydration superhero Now this is controversial...Some say that's lazy.I say it's GENIUS. Why are we not doing this everywhere?! I don't want to make eye contact every 3 minutes like I'm begging for survival hydration. Just leave the pitcher and let me live my life #GameChanger #StrongWork FOOD TIME Everyone (and by everyone, I definitely don't mean me ) was starving. We started with Roadhouse Skins $14.50 Loaded potato wedges with cheese, bacon, ranch... the holy trinity. ‍ Verdict: Good... not life-changing. Those thick wedges? Felt like I was eating a baked potato that hit the gym too hard. Needed Jasper Kitchen - steak fries energy.Cheese blend? Solid.Ranch drizzle? Tease. GIVE ME A SIDE CUP. Don't play with my emotions. #ProTip Mrs. Bald * Caesar Salad ($7.50) -- fresh, filling, approved * Buffalo Boneless Wings ($16.50) -- which is wild because... boneless wings are just expensive chicken nuggets with a college degree Huge portion. Crispy, saucy, excellent spice. Came with blue cheese... which tastes like it was aged in a gym sock #RanchPleaseCelery included so you can pretend you're making healthy choices. The Princess * Cheese Sticks ($13.50) Cooked perfectly. Crispy outside, gooey inside. Marinara? Chunky, flavorful, borderline drinkable My Son * BCJ Sandwich ($17.50) Chicken, bacon, cheese, fries... the holy sandwich alliance. He'd been here before (traitor) and confirmed it still hits. Left full and happy. Mission accomplished. The BaldWhiteGuy ‍ (Food Explorer Extraordinaire)I wanted to try everything. Family shocked. I don't know why. This is who I am. Went with:"Guac on the Wild Side" Sandwich ($17.50) Cajun chicken (spicy enough to wake up your ancestors), pepper jack, guac... you had me at guacamole. Now...Chicken breast was thin. Like... "this chicken skipped chest day" thin ‍Cheese? Also thin.BUT... the guacamole? Green, fresh, creamy... the MVP of the sandwich. Side of sweet potato (don't look at the butter... it's still healthy, mind your business) FINAL RATING:‍‍‍‍ -- 4 out of 5 Bald Heads PROS Huge space -- indoor & outdoor seating Friendly staff & vacation vibes Solid menu variety (of sandwiches ) Big portions CONS Price -- Total: $93.77 Now my family says I'm cheap... but $17.50 for a chicken sa

The place was large and appeared really busy. Luckily, I was seated quickly and served promptly. The atmosphere appeared rather chaotic with pictures covering any open space on walls. They had a complimentary popcorn stand which was nice. The food came out quicker than I expected. The food was good. I had the fish and chips. The crinkle cut fries were decent but a few of them tasted like they were double fried. My wife ordered the salad which tasted good. Fruit was sweet.

We find the drinks particularly reasonably priced and the cocktails are good. We really like the blueberry one. The space is sunny and open. Great ice-cold beers, pizza, more. Playground! Indoor and outdoor seating…read more We were in town for a wedding, and we ate at MadTree Parks & Rec several times (May 2026). Our host was able to make reservations for seating areas for large numbers of people, so once we had two areas of a dozen or more, and a couple other times we had one area of that size. This flexibility was a big plus because we could only guess at how many would make it each time. We had ice-cold beers of every description, including IPAs, hazys, and other local crafts. I can't name them all, and some drafts aren on the printed menu, bu5 8 kniw we had Psychopathy, a flavorful IPA, and Seeing Colors Tropical IPA, with a sweeter / hazy profile. Dont miss their cocktails! We loved the S'More Espresso Martini: vodka, chocolate liqueur, coffee tiqueur, and espresso :-) So much yum! And we ordered various pizzas. Our favorite was the Scenic Supreme (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, red onions, green peppers, black olives) and the Vista Veggie (about the same without the meats). I also saw friends devouring Caprese Canyon (olive oil, minced garlic, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, roma tomatoes, balsamic drizzle). And of course regular pepperoni. Tasty crust, tasty red sauce, (you could get white sauce), generous toppings. We got the large sizes, which were enough for at least four people per pie. Sandwich-wise, the most popular was the Cuban Reuben: marble rye, corned beef, ham, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, dill pickle, and Russian dressing. It's the added ham and pickles that move it toward a Cuban sandwich. Well-stacked, hot, and flavorful. For local flavor, the Goetta sandwich: that flavorful Cincinnati oat-pork hash, with candied bacon, american cheese, pickled jalapeños, lettuce, and ranch. Here and there we shared Buffalo fried-Cauliflower with celery and ranch on the side. This was. Not as spicy as it could be. But if you're going to eat cauliflower, this is tasty approach. We like the tangy Fried Pickle Spears better, served with lightly-spicy chipotle ranch. And we added some fresh crunchy Caesar salads, too, and and amazing pecan, apple, blue cheese, cranberry salad! So many candied pecans! Somehow, the servers kept up with an erratic flow of orders from different groups, keeping track on portable devices, so it was easy for each group to settle their own bill as-needed. It may not sound like much, but it was impressively smooth and error-free. And the staff remained helpful, and cheerful throughout. They built a large playgroup area with slides and climbers and more. Inside there's a large play camper that we spent a lot of time in, too! This is a great place for fresh-air dining, for large groups, and especially for kids. We lived the food and drink. Lots of wonderful leftovers, especially those huge pizzas!

I started with the day's cream of mushroom soup with goat cheese. The soup was excellently crafted, and the mild goat cheese was the right addition. A tangy goat cheese would have clashed with the simplicity of the soup. My friend chose the jambalaya, and was very happy with it. I had pot roast, subbing wonderful roasted garlic potatoes for the mashed (which I highly recommend). The bordelaise sauce that comes on the side allows one to create a beef burguignon-type dish. The beef was cooked expertly, so it could be sliced into tender pieces that hold together. We both enjoyed their signature cornbread, of course. My friend's warm apple pie was amazing. My crème brûlée was the only thing in the entire meal that was less than amazing. The sugary layer on top was exactly as thin as I like it. The custard underneath was not impressively silky in texture. That isn't bad, but it also isn't difficult to achieve. It definitely didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying every bite, and it's the largest crème brûlée I've ever had. So, I highly recommend Desha's, and definitely won't let years pass before I return. Addition: I should not have posted my review until after I had tried the bread pudding that I got to take home. Connor, who generally doesn't care for bread pudding, recommended it, so I had it today, heated 1 minute, covered, in the microwave. That stuff is wonderful. If you get it to go, do not taste it before you heat it, because it is clearly designed to be eaten warm. It is short on raisins, but that is a matter of taste, so I can overlook it. It isn't as good as the apple pie, but I got a bite of that, too, so I have tried all three of the recipes that interest me most, although I have to try the blackberry cobbler, too. Oh, and the pot roast was still great the second day.
