Silver seafood is a traditional Chinese restaurant with a wide variety of dishes to accommodate anyone's taste buds. It's not a fancy restaurant, but a wholesome traditional Chinese restaurant with solid food. The service was good, the wait staff was attentive. The atmosphere is typical Chinese restaurant with fish tanks for fresh seafood, lobsters, crabs. We enjoyed crab Rangoon, salt and pepper tofu, salt and pepper pork chops, roasted pigeon, vegetable chow fun, sautéed chow mein with soy sauce, orange chicken, shrimp with walnuts. Everything was good, although not exceptional. I would go here again for a solid Chinese dinner.

Excellent and authentic Chinese food with large portions. I like how they offer small medium and large for virtually everything! Ambiance is very hole in the wall so a great pit stop for food. Service straight forward and kind. Will return!

Huge menu, prompt and efficient service, and really delicious food! My brother and his Vietnamese-American wife love this place, and my first visit made me a believer too. We celebrated a birthday here by getting a whole crab ($45 market price), and a whole bunch more food for nine people. It was delightful to sit around the big table with a Lazy Susan and share the feast. The atmosphere could have benefited from some music or a fountain or something, but it looks nice, and there is plenty of easy parking just north of the building.

I've been in this area for a few years now & I finally made it in here with my partner. Everyone who came in and out of the restaurant the night we were here were Asian so we both assumed the food must be at least somewhat good! Our server, "Eason" according to the receipt was actually super friendly accommodating for us during our dining experience here so a big thanks to him! We were served tea at the beginning as usually expected and given menus. The food: we ordered 4 different dishes, as shown in the photos. The Salt & Pepper Shrimp w/ Shell on, The Salted fish & chicken rice, & Eggplant w/ Garlic Sauce were all a solid 8/10 although we'd rate the Crab Meat Fish Maw Soup about a 7.5 because we felt for the $19 price point, they could've given us a bit more crab in the order. Lastly, the server was kind enough to ask if we wanted fortune cookies or red bean dessert. We chose the red bean dessert and it was delicious! Overall, great and quick service, big portions, and alcoholic beverages server. Would definitely come back!

Everything tasted loaded with MSG. I ordered twice cooked pork and we were given this abomination of a dish with pork pieces, cabbage, zucchini, mushrooms.. THIS was definitely NOT twice cooked pork. I just didn't complain at the time because I started eating it. Lol. We were here several times before and it's been a while but at the time of our visit- there was plenty of fruit flies. We had to shoo them away or cover our food with table napkins because they're notorious on really getting to you food. Upon seating at the table we already noticed 2 insect zapper machines... That was already our sign for the flies come..

Popular north side Chinese seafood restaurant that hosts events / parties. *often has issues of non-available dishes; if going to lunch or dinner, it is recommended to ask in advance prior to requesting certain popular or possibly limited supply dishes, e.g., lobster Food: Fish maw soup with crab meat - 5/5 - excellent tasting Fish maw soup with bamboo - 5/5 - didn't taste much different from the other, except no crab meat Young Chow fried rice (Duong Chau) - 4/5 - contains shrimp, pork and Chinese sausage; a little bit on the bland side but overall delicious version with plentiful shrimp Combination fried rice - 5/5 - contains shrimp, chicken and beef; superior seasoning than young chow Lobster, ginger and onion style - 5/5 - excellent preparation of a classic popular Chinese lobster style Baby clams in black bean sauce - 5/5 - fresh, quality taste and excellent savory flavor Baby clams in XO sauce - 5/5 - only mildly spicy sauce Salted, deep-fried soft shell crab - 4/5 - good but not outstanding Seafood chow fun - 5/5 - greasy delicious goodness with plentiful mix of shrimp, calamari and scallop Seafood in birds nest - 5/5 - excellent textures; must try! Beef lo mein - 4/5 - very good; not outstanding Ambience: Large/spacious with Chinese characteristics; Chinese restaurant that hosts parties/celebrations Service: Fast & friendly

    Crab Rangoon

What's cool about Silver Seafood is they have a ton of seafood dishes, plus more interesting items Chicken Feet with Hot Sauce, Fried Intestine, Hot & Sour Cucumbers, Shark Fin done a bunch of different ways, Bird's Nest Soup, Fish Bladder, Duck Tongue, Quail done 8 different ways, Frog done 4 ways - just to name a few! Their Crab Rangoon? Meh, I'd pass on getting that here in the future. Way too much breading compared to the stuffings. And the crab & cream cheese mix just seemed a bit dry. I just wasn't impressed with their crab rangoons and I feel like you usually can't go wrong with the deep fried goodness. I found the Lime Chicken to be just alright, as well. Decent flavor but I wasn't in love with it though the chicken itself was done perfectly for the deep fried dish. They have an interest dish they call Double Flavors Chicken. It's a normal sized large dish but half the container is orange chicken and half the container is lemon chicken. The lemon chicken is not breaded and much lighter in flavor, dare I say even a tad bit healthy. Whereas the orange chicken is deep fried with bigger pieces of chicken. Again, both dishes were okay but nothing overly delicious I would come back for. They have a bunch of lunch specials if you can get there at the right time! I'd probably come back to try some of their lunch specials, but wouldn't get any of the same dishes I previously tried.

I was craving dim sum today and found this place on yelp. The dim sum places I am used to in LA cart around all of the dim sum dishes around the restaurant. Here you order each item from the menu. I thought the selection here was very small. Though there is a whole menu of options, I guess they just didn't have my favorites. I ordered the shumai and pork buns from the dim sum menu and then also ordered chicken fried rice. And my husband ordered the orange chicken lunch special. The food was ok tasting. I thought the fried rice could have used a bit more flavor, it was a bit bland. Everything else was standard. I will say what bothered me was that each of the dishes came out at such different times. The rice came out first and then every 5-10 minutes something else came out. I get that food has Different cook times but at a restaurant they usually plan it out a bit better, I thought. The servers are nice though and I like that there is free parking.

    Walnut shrimp - amazing

Great experience all around from parking, menu options (which are very extensive), prices, to service! Also, there is a lunch special where you can choose from many options for $6.75. Food: 4/5 - Sesame chicken: amazing. Really loved this dish which comes with broccoli. There is great flavor, a crunch, lots of sauce and is perfect on top of rice. - Walnut shrimp: loooooved this. Walnut pieces are small so you can get some with every bite. Shrimp and taste was perfect. - Hong sue fish filet: this is the only place where I have had this dish. I didn't think that the fish has the strongest taste, so I found it better to have alone, rather than with rice to get the full flavor which was good. The bokchoy is fantastic. - Beef chow fun: I found this dish to be good, but a bit more gravy-like. - Mapo tofu: good! - Combination fried rice: very, very good with pieces of shrimp and pork. - Singapore noodle: really delicious. The pieces of pork were fantastic in here. They do not skimp of the meats! - Beef satay appetizer: this was okay, came with 4 pieces of beef. I found it to be a bit vinegary. - They give out almond cookies and fortune cookies once you pay Service: 5/5 - Great prices - Very attentive service, they refill the tea as much as you need it, and come by and check and refill on their own - They hand out parking passes so you don't have to pay - They provide forks and chopsticks Ambiance: 4/5 - There are many tables for small and big groups. They can accommodate many! - They decorated for the holidays. - Each time I was here it was very quiet - Bathrooms are clean and nice

Be prepared to wait a little bit for a table, or share a big one with another party at peak times. Prices are reasonable and portions are pretty generous. ===== Kind of lost count of how many times I've been. Love getting the dim sum and noodle dishes here. Some favorites: beef cheong fun with egg, siu mai, Singapore noodle, xo rice noodle rolls, spare ribs, pork and century egg congee. All the food has been very solid. Inside is always bustling and can be a bit crowded. Service is pretty friendly as far as Chinatown goes, and very efficient. There's a guy who works there who I think is the manager or something, because he puts in 200x effort and is always hustling. When he's not around it feels like something is missing. Prices are very reasonable and we like ordering a lot here so that we have tasty leftovers for later. This place has quite a few big tables and is good for large groups. My only nits are that very occasionally a dish or teacup will have a dirty spot, and that the bubble tea here is kind of meh. I don't remember exactly which one I ordered, but it was a little watery and lacking in flavor. It's also probably tough since they're boxed in by boba places now. Pro tip: When you first get your table, they'll ask you what kind of tea you want. If you ignore them or don't know how to answer, the default is green tea. Another one is to come at off-peak times. Not only will you get a table faster, but I think they tweak their portion sizes depending on how crowded it is. Definitely will be back! And I recommend you visit too

It had been 6 years since our last visit, just as the pandemic began. Before the pandemic, our extended family gathered here every Sunday for dim sum after my mother and sister attended church in Chinatown. We also celebrated many birthdays and Mother's Day with traditional Cantonese banquet dinners. My fondest memories were my milestone birthday and my husband's birthday, when we pre-ordered a live king crab prepared three ways, plus other banquet style dishes, for each celebration. The crab legs were perfectly deep-fried, the body was delicately steamed, and the remaining meat was stir-fried with e-fu noodles. The presentation was beautiful, and every dish showcased the freshness of the crab. (Please see my posted photos.) Around the time of the ownership change before the pandemic, the friendly and accommodating manager, Elaine, left the restaurant. I was delighted when my sister told me she had recently returned. On a recent Friday, my husband, our daughter and I brought an American friend to Imperial for dim sum. Elaine immediately recognized us and gave us a warm welcome. The restaurant was bright, clean, and beautifully decorated with elegant chandeliers, just as we remembered. We chose a table for 4 near the window, and the service was friendly and efficient throughout our meal. The 4 of us shared 12 dim sum dishes. We knew we had ordered more than we could finish, but everything looked too tempting to pass up. Our favorites included the Imperial Jumbo Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow), which were filled with plump, fresh, and flavorful shrimp, and the Pan-Fried Turnip Cake, perfectly seared with a crisp exterior (some of the Hong Kong Cantonese restaurants don't even offer this dish, which requires more preparations).  Other highlights included Chicken Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf, Beef and Enoki Rice Crepes, Crispy Shrimp Rolls, Siu Mai, and Sweet Custard Rolls. Every dish was freshly prepared and delicious. Although our friend is very familiar with Asian cuisine, this was her first visit to Imperial. She was genuinely impressed by the quality and authenticity of the dim sum and said she already planned to return with her family. Most of the dim sum we ordered was in the $6.50 (medium) to $6.75 (large) range.  Elaine generously comped our tea and gave us a 10% loyalty discount on our overall bill. Our final bill came up to $78.29 before tip, and $93.68 after.  We were happy to treat our guest and also encouraged her to take home all the leftovers, that made her really happy. As a bonus, the restaurant offers discounted parking at the nearby Chinatown Parking Lot. By scanning the restaurant's QR code with the parking app, my husband reduced the parking fee from $14.99 to just $3 for nearly three hours. It was such a happy, relaxed, and delicious lunch from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm.  (Dim sum and the lunch menu are available until 3:30 p.m.)  After such a long hiatus, it was wonderful to return and find that Imperial continues to deliver the excellent food, warm hospitality, and welcoming ambiance that made Cai our family's favorite Cantonese restaurant. We are thrilled to be back.
