My friend selected the Silver Dolphin for our monthly luncheon. When you arrive, the greeted with a very colorful building with different mermaids and their signature silver dolphins at the front of their store. They also have on one side, a boutique and on the other side is the restaurant. When we entered, we were seated right away. Our drinks taken by a very nice lady. Great personality and made us feel right at home. The menu has a lot to select from so it took some time to choose. I have to be honest, their raspberry ice tea is nasty. I switched to sweet tea, unfortunately it was nasty as well. But, I drank it. We placed our order, I had the clam strip basket with french fries and coleslaw. My friend had the lobster salad. The clam strips were very tasty, but they were all more on the small side and there was more french fries than clan strips. My friend had the salad which contained more salad than lobster pieces, but it had fresh tomato cucumber, and they use a type of mayonnaise for the dressing which I didn't care for. The prices for the amount of food was very expensive, but you were on the water and you had the opportunity to sit outside under shaded canopies, and lots of trees and flowers and view the canal which had lots of fish and hungry turtles. As I walked down the pathway, everything was decorated in plants and different nautical items, and it led to an outside bar. Also, in the front of the store is there dessert bar with cheesecake several kind, pumpkin pie, brownies, etc. They all look very delicious but I didn't indulge this time. Our waitress was very friendly. She checked on us often refilled our drinks and smiled through everything. Looks like she was very happy to be working and happy to take care of us. There are plenty of handicap spots for parking handicap spots for dining and the bathroom will accommodate a wheelchair or a motorized cart. I found everything to be clean, the food tasted good and it also tasted fresh. It was a nice place to go, but I believe because if it's location, it's more of a tourist trap and the prices are a little bit high for the amount of food that you get. Will I go back? Maybe. But there's other places on Shoreline Boulevard to try. I will admit that it is a very exciting place to go because of all the colorful decorations, the beautiful flowers the canal the turtles the fish they have a small boutique with beautiful jewelry and little knickknacks. If you haven't gone, I would give it a try. The parking is private and there's plenty of parking. read more

The place was full. I have been in the hospitality industry for over 60 years. I couldn't help but notice how the older lady took care of the younger lady's guests as they were her own. we eat here monthly and we have never really had a prior problem. However, today we had five people eating me and my husband, another couple and another friend. When the came, my husband gave the waitress our credit card. She came out a few minutes later and asked us if we had given her a credit card and we said yes. So then she kind of looked at us like we were not telling the truth our friend verified that. Yes he had seen ask give her a credit card. We haven't spent the next half hour looking for our credit card. We were looking under tables we were looking in between bricks because the waitress kept saying. it had between it had to be between our table and the cash register as she had been nowhere else. I know I could've stopped the however, if you're like me, you have all of your bills paid off of that card so then it becomes a big deal to change your . After about a a guy by the name of Alex came the kitchen and he said he had found it in the trashcan. We had asked the server several times if she had maybe put it in the trash and she said no, she had only been between us and the cash register. This place is absolutely adorable! We didn't sit outside because of the weather, but the seating area is adorable. We ordered a BLT with an E on an everything bagel fully loaded, with a side of home fries with onions and peppers, and a three egg omelette with spinach, mushrooms, onions, tomato, with a side of home fries with onions and peppers, and white toast. The spicy Bloody Mary and regular Blood Mary were super yummy. Perfect ratio of Old Bay to rim. Our server was lovely, and the entire staff was so friendly! Can't wait to go back. read more

First, this place is a little out of the way. We stumbled upon it on a leisurely tour of the Gulf coast north of Tampa. What a great find!! It's definitely worth going the extra mile to eat here. It's immediately clear that the staff loves working here. Each staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and happy. The menu offers so many choices. We chose fried seafood - the fried shrimp dinner and the Fisherman's Platter. Portions were huge. We've had alot of bad fried haddock since we moved to Florida from upstate New York. This is an eclectic little restaurant has outdoor seating with beautiful views of a small canal draped with native Florida foliage & wildlife. It almost has a "land before time" type of feel to it. We stopped for breakfast and we were pleased with the food, though the service was very slow. I can't blame our server, who was friendly and lively. They were just ridiculously short on staff. Also made note of the fact that at the checkout counter, there were at least a dozen camera screen throughout what wasn't that large of a restaurant. Not sure what the deal was with that but it's hardly a place you'd think would suffer a lot of theft or crime. We just had dinner here as a group of 10 people. Our server did the best job she could. I and the blackened chicken Greek salad and the boss had blackened haddock tacos. My chicken was grilled and not blackened. The tomatoes were really mushy. My wife said here tacos were good with the exception of having too much sauce. The biggest problem was we got our food in four waves. 2 in the first wave, 6 in the second wave, 2 in the third wave and the salad for the last order after everyone ate in the fourth wave. Eager to experience what I thought would be a hidden gem on the water in Hernando Beach, we arrived for dinner at about 6:15. Taking time to enjoy the advertised country store, including many flavors of taffy, fudge, renderings of local artists, we were impressed with its colorful and warm feeling. We were seated then, drinks orders taken and delivered, requesting a few minutes to peruse the menu, then finally needed to get up 20 minutes later to find a server so we could order food. Our server, who never introduced herself, did apologize, but as the only diners inside at the time, we felt the delay was unacceptable. We shared a fried platter which did arrive hot with average quality fish, clam strips and shrimp. I doubt we will return, unless we decide to try again for breakfast or lunch. read more

Any sports channel would have gotten that fifth star. The front of the place is an eclectic store with awesome sweets, fudge, and ice cream. Just stopped in for lunch on a typical hot humid day. We sat outside along the water. Luckily their fans were going which helped make for a pleasant experience dining along the water. Love all the eclectic items decorating the area. It's almost like a treasure hunt encountering the different decorations. For lunch I had the fried Haddock Tacos with a side of potato salad. The breading was crispy, had a nice flavor and the Haddock was perfectly cooked. The Mango salsa & drizzled aioli sauce added a nice flavorful touch. Their potato salad was delicious too. Decided to try this place out as a Father's Day treat after seeing it had mostly good reviews and we'd never been there before. When we got there it was somewhat confusing. You walk in to what looks like a gift shop and the restaurant is through the shop but there is a register at the door which they take names down at to seat people. There was a delay being greeted which added to the confusion. Seating options were presented as high tops in the bar or outdoor seating with a short wait. It was nice out and I noticed from pictures it was on the water so we opted to wait. Once our names were called we waited several more minutes for one of the 6 people up front to seat us and once we got to the table it was still dirty and needed to be cleaned. The outdoor garden seating was pretty nice, lots of plants and coverage from the sun along with fans to help keep you cool, this was especially nice when there weren't many people outside. Each area had a bit of privacy from the foliage. There's also a spot that overlooks the water and you can feed the fish and turtles. So, we are seated, order some waters, look at the menu, and then about 10 minutes later the waitress comes back with the waters and we are able to order. We ordered a Long Island and a Capri Sun mixed drinks and fried pickles and mozzarella sticks as appetizers. The apps were actually really good- no complaints at all. The drinks weren't great though, the Long Island was straight sour mix - didn't taste any alcohol or coke- and the Capri Sun tasted mostly of pineapple juice. We sent the Long Island back for a whiskey and Coke instead- drink comes out and it's super light - definitely not whiskey or Coke - pretty sure it was definitely Rum but couldn't place what it was mixed with. We later found out there was no bartender and the waitresses made their own tables drinks (unfortunate but it explains the drink issue). For lunch we ordered a surf & turf meal (sirloin and shrimp) with beets and homemade potato salad and an order of scallops (blackened because I'm not a fan of fried) with a side salad and potato salad. *The prices of the dishes are very high for what you get* This is where things went really bad. Potato salad was meh, the steak, ordered medium rare, was basically shoe leather-well done with a thick line of gristle right in the middle - and definitely did not look, taste, or feel like a sirloin (had a taste and texture of liver and did not taste good at all). The shrimp were a good size but very overcooked (and also somehow "grilled" with no grill marks), the scallops were EXTREMELY salty, cooked only on once side, and were oozing oil. Just a bite and my stomach was turning. Service was slow, never filled our waters or cleared off plates/cups from apps and salad, but our waitress and the head waitress who came after was nice and understanding of the issues we had with the food. The meals and drinks were comped which was very much appreciated. Unfortunately, it just wasn't a great experience. read more

We ate here the other night for the first time and we were not disappointed. I have been wanting to try eating here after hearing about this place in a local restaurant group I follow. My husband got the blackened shrimp and I got the fried clams. The portions were huge and the taste was spot on! We also had 2 for 1 margaritas that were delicious. There are tables to eat inside or you can eat outside on the water. The staff were all so sweet and friendly here too! On the way out we stopped in an area in the front that is like a small gift shop. They have lots of old fashioned type candies, trinkets and some home made fudge. So of course we bought some fudge lol. The fudge was as good as the food! It was so good! We will definitely be back to this little gem! read more
