We've never had a bad meal at Dockside. Our favorite is their onion soup which is outstanding. We often get it with an order of chicken tenders. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly and make us feel welcome every time. The restaurant is very clean. One warnihng: avoid going on Sunday afternoon/evening wihen the games are on unless you are a football fan. It's loud and you may have to wait for a table. The two young ladies working here tonight made my evening fun, watching the Tampa Bay Lightning game. It was more fun because they won again. These gals were excellent and entertaining. The bartender is from Detroit and filled me in on the Motown Hall of Fame. I'm gonna go. The waitress was Spanish specifically Puerto Rican and I learned some new words. Buena Comida!! Monday night is a great night to watch whatever sports you like, because wings are only a dollar each. I only got five because it was a snack. We visited on a Saturday night. We were offered "BOGO" on beer after ordering. Question was "Would you like BOGO or Pint?" BOGO seems best, correct? NO!!! With BOGO beer, you pay more for single 10oz mug cost than single pint. It bothered my husband. I watched server immediately tell manager our concern. Female, blonde manager looked our way & then took 15-minutes to visit table, only after server mentioned John, the GM would be stopping by, John looked & then sent female FOH shift manager?! Explanation was "We do not set prices! I will only charge you for pint. We have received lots of complaints lately since beer prices have gone up?!" THEN FIX THE PROBLEM!!! Management lacks accountability, doesn't appreciate or want feedback, and evades customer interactions. No menu shows prices. No beer menu list. Even server said, "I asked you if you wanted BOGO or pint?" Without price list you EXPECT server is going to lead you down best path...or a good server would take that ownership?! Going on 3 years in Spring Hill. Been eyeing this restaurant over the last year. Today finally made it in. 2 for 1 draft mugs. The mugs came together and 10 oz each. We came in to try some apps and beer. We ordered Gator Tail, and Quesadilla's. When the apps showed I was shocked at the portion size of the Gator Tail. Seems small for $14. Tail is tasty and like the honey mustard sauce, only the portion size for the money is a concern. Quesadillas ok - not bad but not overly great just OK in my opinion. Service was great. Our waitress was joyful, upbeat and helpful. She checked in on us regularly and ensured our water was kept full. We ordered another app: Sideline Fries - Team Gator. ~$9 and again the portion size is a concern. I asked if good for 2 and the waitress said yes. When it came we were like WOW! Small cereal bowl size - the waitress seemed embarrassed when she delivered it. It is OK for 2 but so many other places in town provide a much larger portion for this price point. Will I come back? Last time around the size of the food served resembled more of a Cornish Game hen than a full sized chicken. The sides were usually quite generous. I don't mind paying $16.99 for dinner but it should be at least enough to feed a 5 year old . This is the first time I've ever been disappointed here and I love salmon so I was happy to find it on their menu. Groups- stay far way! We have group of 16-18 that gets together once a month to eat out. Tonight was Gators turn. It all started with drink orders. We had one waitress and one waiter. Each had taken one side of the table, and started taking drink orders. And when they came back with the drinks,t hey would stand near the table and yell "Who had such & such". Then they took food orders, each going down their side of the table taking orders in order. But when the food came out, again it was Who had what. Then came time to get our checks. Yep, had to ask each person what they ate and drank. Then with checks in hand, again had to ask who had what. And of course, some of the checks were messed up; charged for things you didn't eat. Then once again, who's Tom, who's Dick, who's Harry? Trying to get the bill and credit cards to the right people. What a screwed up mess, from start to finish. And I won't even mention the mess up with food delivery, people not getting what they ordered. Kind of a total disaster. read more
