Great restaurant, but in a seemingly odd location. Wish this was located on a Canal or in Hernando Beach for better aesthetics/atmosphere. However, it is nice that this is conveniently located just off of US 19. That said, this is a great, quick bar type atmosphere with good food. They have a onion appetizer that is similar to the blooming onion at Steakhouse's. It is fabulous. They also have drink specials like a rocket pop during specific holidays and are quite tasty. Conveniently located behind steak 'n Shake in the Publix plaza. Indoor seating is air-conditioned and they have booths, which are nice when you're with family wanting conversation. Outdoor area is shaded and has a TV in a breeze (wish they'd clean up the trash in the retention pond because it takes away from this experience). Great experience at Gators Dockside in Spring Hill! The food was perfect, as always, so kudos to the cooks and kitchen staff. But I really wanted to take a minute to recognize our waitress, Janelle. She was absolutely phenomenal. She was handling a large party along with several other smaller tables, including ours, and never missed a beat. There were moments where you could tell she had a lot going on, but she just kept moving and made sure everyone was taken care of. She was attentive, friendly, checked on us throughout the meal, and never made us feel like we were competing for her attention. Watching her manage everything she had going on and still provide that level of service was impressive. Great food and exceptional service. The two young ladies working here tonight made my evening fun, watching the Tampa Bay Lightning game. It was more fun because they won again. These gals were excellent and entertaining. The bartender is from Detroit and filled me in on the Motown Hall of Fame. I'm gonna go. The waitress was Spanish specifically Puerto Rican and I learned some new words. Buena Comida!! Monday night is a great night to watch whatever sports you like, because wings are only a dollar each. I only got five because it was a snack. I'm having steak at home couple next to me ordered 40 of them. Eat half today and half tomorrow. All the food is good here I love the French onion soup. Was greatly disappointed. First time there, so we were unfamiliar with the menu. Server was fairly quick with our drink order. Soda and Sweet Tea. (So nothing from the bar) We asked for a few minutes to look over the menu. After we decided, we kept looking for our server.... after 15 minutes, we asked a passing server if we could place an order. He seemed busy and irritated but took out order anyway. Still no sight of our server. We ordered the buffalo shrimp for an appetizer. It came out fairly quickly and you guessed it, not our server. It was decent with a fair amount of shrimp. We both ordered fish and chips. Finally got our fish and chips about 25 minutes after we had finished the shrimp. The plates were different. One plate the fish was golden brown with a huge stack of fries. The other plate the fish looked barely light brown with barely any fries and 1 tiny piece of lemon. The fish no flavor. Finally saw our server to ask for more lemon and other drink due to the sweet tea not tasting good. The bill was $58.03. Management lacks accountability, doesn't appreciate or want feedback, and evades customer interactions. No menu shows prices. No beer menu list. Even server said, "I asked you if you wanted BOGO or pint?" Without price list you EXPECT server is going to lead you down best path...or a good server would take that ownership?! Going on 3 years in Spring Hill. Been eyeing this restaurant over the last year. Today finally made it in. 2 for 1 draft mugs. The mugs came together and 10 oz each. We came in to try some apps and beer. We ordered Gator Tail, and Quesadilla's. When the apps showed I was shocked at the portion size of the Gator Tail. Seems small for $14. Tail is tasty and like the honey mustard sauce, only the portion size for the money is a concern. Quesadillas ok - not bad but not overly great just OK in my opinion. Service was great. Our waitress was joyful, upbeat and helpful. She checked in on us regularly and ensured our water was kept full. We ordered another app: Sideline Fries - Team Gator. ~$9 and again the portion size is a concern. I asked if good for 2 and the waitress said yes. When it came we were like WOW! Small cereal bowl size - the waitress seemed embarrassed when she delivered it. It is OK for 2 but so many other places in town provide a much larger portion for this price point. Will I come back? Our server was New and not very knowledgeable but he was very nice and willing to figure out answers to all of our questions (my wife has a lot of them lol). First time I've ever not been happy here . First let me say our server was wonderful. Greeted by a charming young lady with a giant smile and promptly seated server arrived within 30 seconds . Hubby got a burger which was exactly as he ordered it . I ordered the salmon skewers and they arrived in a tiny plate 2 skewers with about 8 pieces of salmon only as big as a quarter with maybe 4 paper thin slices of summer squash and a few pepper served about 1/2 a cup of very clumpy rice and the price tag for this tiny meal was $16.99 . I don't mind paying $16.99 for dinner but it should be at least enough to feed a 5 year old . This is the first time I've ever been disappointed here and I love salmon so I was happy to find it on their menu. Last time around the size of the food served resembled more of a Cornish Game hen than a full sized chicken. The sides were usually quite generous.
