We visited on a Thursday at 3pm, had no trouble parking and no wait. They had live music outside. We were in the shade with a nice breeze--so it was comfortable. The food was very good! I didn't like the slaw--it was too sweet for me. My blackened shrimp was delicious. The green beans were perfectly cooked with some bacon. The cocktail sauce was perfectly spicy. This is by far one of our favorite restaurants to go to. The food is lovely & flavorful (my favorite item on the menu is the goat cheese balls). The vibes are always good here. You can sit near the water where you may spot the local gator and turtles, they have live music some days & they're nearly always packed. There have been a few occasions where the service wasn't the best, however we have had more good times than bad. read more

Service was exceptional here. We were seated immediately on a Friday night. Drinks were good and the service was extremely fast. Food was good except the shrimp and green beans were cold. Fries were excellent. Shrimp pasta was hot and also excellent and well seasoned. The fried provolone was phenomenal. Live bands on the weekends and a real local feel. They will not seat two at a four chair table, they want to fill those seats. We've witnessed favoritism for sure, we ended up leaving after a long wait. I have been here a few times but wanted to try the ribs on a recommendation and they had a band playing, bearded brothers, that I have wanted to see so we decided to go on Sunday night. Food: the food was much better than expected. There was two of us sharing an each of ribs with a bake stuffed potato and green beans. The rib meat fell off the bone, the potato was nicely seasoned and cooked but the surprise was the green beans. They are fresh green beans cooked in bacon and beer, they were excellent. We also shared 12 wings 1/2 with rib and 1/2 naked. They were crisp and not over cooked. The band bearded brothers was good as well. The servers are busy so I did have to flag one down for a refill on my drink and for a few other things but over all it was a good experience. The two downsides to the place is that it can get really loud so don't plan on a conversation and there are a ton of people smoking. read more

Place was very loud . Could not carry on a conversation without screaming in my girlfriend's ears . Very hard to get the waist steps attention in the noise . Ordered a grouper rap which came with some very very thin piece of overcooked dry fish smothered in cheese and mushrooms . Clearly not any kind of Florida grouper . When I passed the owner about it she got very defensive and explained to me that you couldn't buy grouper in May cuz it was illegal which is complete bullshit . He then explained to me that they buy it in boxes labeled grouper and it comes from somewhere else in the world . So avoid the mystery fish wrap especially a 25 bucks ! read more

Wife and I went over to Hernando Beach Fl to kayak the Weeki Wachee River. We visited several restaurants while there. Our absolute favorite was the Lazy Lizard. The atmosphere was buzzing with a live performer singing all our favorite country songs. Bar sits right on the canal to view all the wildlife. Our server Ashley was spectacular and she was very busy !!!!! My wife had the blackened Grouper sandwich, ( might have been the best grouper yet ) I had the grilled HogFish. Perfectly cooked and nice and flakey. I 100%, 5 thumbs up recommend this bar !!!!!! read more

We spent a few of the winter months here in Hernando Beach and this is our favorite place to be. It is the party place. We just got into town last night and we were hungry! We ordered food for pick up, my husband got a cheese burger with fries which looked so good! The burger was huge. I got the chef salad and it was perfect, lots of good stuff in it, not just lettuce. They must've changed chefs because the food was all sent back. Crabcakes were mostly filler. Scallops simply had a fried exterior (no seasoning). At least they were not overcooked. When the food, service, vibes, and live music are spot on I tend to give one of my few 5star reviews. Arrive by car, motorcycle, or golfcart, or heck- they line up on the water I've seen people come on kayaks, the parkings is sufficient, and grass overflow if it's packed. But don't worry, packed parkinglot still doesn't mean you wait forever. They have so many tables, high tops, large group seating, and bar spots it's perfect! The beer was ice cold, bottle and tap, and we enjoyed watching the March madness basketball games on the many TV's they have around the bar. My food each time I have been here has been nothing short of delicious! It's the perfect hole in the wall old Florida restaurant. When walking in the hostess will get you seated at your spot, you will pass a huge board listing all the local bands and musicians who come get the vibes lifted Florida style. If someone hasn't already brought their partner up to dance, you just wait for one of those iconic renditions of songs everyone loves. The lizard mark on the burgers is such a cute touch! It was juicy and the sauce was a great touch but not overwhelming and drowning out other flavors. The fries are a great side but the large cut coleslaw is great too! The servings are large with plenty to take home and enjoy the next day! (I just ate my leftover burger and fries and man that burger is just as good on day two. The onion rights are a light crispy batter, but the fried provolone was SO good with the marinara sauce. We love this dicey bayou inspired restaurant bar. Live music in the outdoor bar area and a quiet dining room and small gift shop with cool shirts and things inside. We've ate both inside and out on separate occasions and both are nice depending on what atmosphere you want and need. I love my Lazy Lizard sweatshirt by the way. It was a gift my sister in law gave me when I was chilly when we were at the outside seating one evening--it's the softest most comfy sweatshirt I own. Super cute design. That said---onto the food--it's amazing. We've taken different family here many times over the past several months and all have loved the food. I usually get the grilled haddock and fried. I'm one to find something and stick with it. My husband mixes things up. He loves all the appetizers. In fact the only thing on the menu to get a thumbs down has been the nacho cheese with the chips (has a funny spice in it I'm told). But everything else from the burgers to the fish to the dips to the wings are great. Live music plays almost all the time at the bar. You can sit further away and hear it and still talk with your fellow diners. They have a dance floor of that's your thing. If you want to see a gator you can likely do that looking over the deck railing if it's not dark -- but the deck is raised so no worries they're close. Also the drinks not good, order a mango mojito that was disappointing, you could tell some of the mint leaves were old and my sister had a drink with a hair buried in her ice then from there we wanted to checkout the live band and have a bottled beer cause the cocktails but the stares we were getting like that whole restaurant never seen a group of Hispanic people before. Scallops were great, cooked well. Shrimp was large & tasted fresh. Wings were great. Loved the fiery habanero sauce. Plenty of parking for the size of the place. A few spots on each side. To start things off we have to talk about the parking this place was packed and the parking spots were small.As soon as I walked I was welcomed with a nice aroma of seafood. The vibes were good and so was my root beer. I would recommend sitting inside, unless you want your ears to bleed from the music. Would not recommend. I got the fried grouper basket which was not good, reminded me of a wet mop. The prices are also outrageous $23 for the grouper basket. Would not recommend!!! read more
