To start things off we have to talk about the parking this place was packed and the parking spots were small.As soon as I walked I was welcomed with a nice aroma of seafood. The vibes were good and so was my root beer. I would recommend sitting inside, unless you want your ears to bleed from the music. Would not recommend. I got the fried grouper basket which was not good, reminded me of a wet mop. The prices are also outrageous $23 for the grouper basket. Would not recommend!!! read more

I took my wife and mother to lunch here. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with fries, they both ordered the Philly cheesesteak. The sandwiches were delicious and really big, especially my chicken sandwich. Everything was cooked perfectly. The fries were better than most other places. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. Oh, the mixed drinks were good too. We'd definitely be a regular customer if we lived in the area. read more

I have been enjoying this place since they opened UNTIL NOW. I was very disappointed today when I went in to get an appetizer with my wife and was told I needed to be charged an extra plate fee for sharing. They lost a food sale because of this. It was the principal for me. I will not patronize the business anymore because I think this is a bad way of doing business. Wife and I were there today for mid afternoon lunch. They have added a new tiki hut expansion that is beautiful. Now on a cooler day you will be out of the wind and weather. New tables, chairs and pavers on the floor make this a great upgrade over last year before the hurricanes. The food is very good, atmosphere is great ant the service was great. Saturday night was the 2nd time having dinner here at a company party. They have a decent sized room to accommodate large groups. The crab cake appetizer was very good. Not a lot of filler and great crab taste. I got the salmon at the suggestion of another guest and was extremely disappointed. Instead of a nice, fresh filet what came out was an overcooked, dry palm-sized piece of fish. I wasn't going to say anything but the other guest felt so bad since she recommended it that she called over the one server - James. Now, prior to this James had been doing a great job! Friendly and accommodating, stayed on top of drink orders etc. When he was told of our disappointment his comment was "well she's already eaten most of it so there's really nothing I can do." Most? James obviously didn't see the size of the salmon that came out on the plate because I ate about 3 bites! Regardless, his entire demeanor was totally different. I was so surprised by how he talked to me that I told him I didn't want him to do a single thing! Needless to say I did not eat my dinner. He came back later and said that he took the meal off the bill. Three of our meals didn't get to the table until long after everyone else was almost finished eating but other than that the service was decent for a party our size. Food was ok and the place is average at most. Started out good with zucchini fries that were really good. Got burgers and they took forever to come to the table and we ordered them medium and they came raw. They said they don't have jalapeños but they did have poppers and the island rice had them In it. Burgers also came very greasy and soggy. Waitress never told us her name, we had to hear it from someone that said she would be right with you. So, if in Hernando Beach try something else for food, they have lots of beer but that's about it. read more

The fried pickles were extremely salty, the homemade ranch with the salad had zero flavor, and don't get me started on their "fall off the bone" ribs. Worst ribs I've ever had in my life. I had to tug on them like a dog with a chew toy. I hardly ever send back food, and I had to send it back. The atmosphere was decent. They had live music, fans going, and everyone seemed to really be enjoying themselves. Thankfully the customer service made up for our lack of a good meal. Their menu has improved. Very good food. But the place is full of dogs. I don't have a problem with dogs, I have a problem with people that don't make their dogs behave. News flash! Not everyone wants to pet your dog! Especially when you're trying to eat a meal. When did it start being ok to bring your pets to a restaurant? Not everybody is ok with it. Leave your dog at home. If you must bring your dog everywhere you go, make him behave! Some older people are actually afraid of dogs. Don't be rude and push your dog on everyone else. It's also bad for business. read more

Decided to stop here for dinner tonight, first time for us both. Nicole our server, we'll her tone and demeanor need to be checked!! What's happened to good customer service? I was going to get the Turkey club, asked if there was a choice of bread, "No". Nicole then said it's severed on a bun and they turn the bun over. She was very aggressive. Well let's just get a salad then even though that's not what I want for dinner. Matt gets the red fish, grilled. That wasn't to bad just a little dry and the cold slaw was horrible. Tasted like horseradish was the slaw dressing, not good! We decided that we'd probably not darken their door again. Other couples child received food she did not order and were told that's just how they make it. Have been going to this place since it was The Cove . The Cove had excellent food every time I visited and I lived across the street so went often . The Lazy Lizard is hit and miss . Had dinner there yesterday . The service itself was excellent . The crab cake appetizer was ok . Ordered a full rack of ribs and the Bourbon salmon . The Ribs were excellent and meaty and the rack was 2 days worth of ribs . The Salmon however was not so good . 2 small thin pieces of over cooked dry salmon filet with way too much sauce on them. I honestly should have said something . I will go back as do like the atmosphere and outside patio area but will stay away from fish selections as its been more miss then hits with their fish . The staff are attentive, and I've always had good food, too. There was a situation involving a family fishing across their restaurant. Family caught a gator . Obviously you cannot control what's being caught . The family took care of it , and was released . However a party next to is whom were "Karen's" decided to call cops on this family . They also got management. Management was passing out fish food to patrons so we distract fish from the family trying to fish ... mind you they got 25 cent machines to feed fish however they were being evil and trying to stop family from fishing my party and party next to us there were disagreements and management joined the fun .. absolutely unprofessional!!!! How do you run a restaurant . Our appetizers were good but if you see reviews on Google , Facebook , trip advisor you'll see what I mean . The staff is poorly mistreated . Really disappointing experience. Went there for lunch during vacation, sat ourselves at a table by the bar as we were told to. One waiter visited the table on one side of us, a different one for the table in the other side. After sitting there 20 minutes with zero staff interaction, we asked the bartender for a menu and to place a drink order. She said it would take a table away from the wait staff and wouldn't serve us. Waited a few more minutes, again asked the bartender just to order drinks. She told us to sit down and wait.. which we didn't do, we left. Even if you're short staffed, treating paying customers with such rudeness is never called for. Went to Lazy Lizard tonight and had a great time. Listened to live music for 3 hours and had excellent food to go with it. Sat at bar and bartender Shayla greeted us warmly right away and introduced herself and her fellow bartender. Ordered pulled pork sandwich and coconut shrimp which came out quickly in about 10 minutes. I've seen some negative reviews about the food and service here,but I just don't understand that. We've been coming here for about 9 months since we moved here and have never been disappointed yet. I highly recommend this place for your dining and entertainment needs. read more

Maggots and ants on our table from their turtle food. When we asked the waitress to please clean the table off and sanitize it she was extremely bothered. Ordered drinks black hairs in our cups. Until the other day when a dish washer named jeffery made my absoulte day until he killed the mantee outside with his bare hands. he emerged from the water blood soaked and breathng heavily. i was scared for my life. the lunatic started lashing out aat people and throwing dishes with tomatao sauce on them. i feared for my life. then former president barack obama and his cousin Dwayne"the rock" Johnson walk in and save the day by smelling what the rock was cookin'. the food tasted like shit tho. read more

My parents, boyfriend, and I use to go here all the time when it was The Cove. My parents stopped coming because they took away the Bar Menu. My dad loved the grouper sandwich for $6. My boyfriend and I continued to go there because of Sarah and Kim. However I am rating it a 3 because the music is now geared to older people. We love life music that gets you dancing, not just sit around and want to leave after 1 drink. We won't be coming back unless we check the music first. We like newer country, and rock. As long as George Mac and singers like that are scheduled we will go elsewhere. read more

Food was good but you should do away with the baskets and tissue paper underneath. My wife had a burger and the grease soaked the paper to the point where you could not tell if you were eating the paper or not. Gross. Serve it on a plate and this won't happen. read more
