This is by far one of our favorite restaurants to go to. The food is lovely & flavorful (my favorite item on the menu is the goat cheese balls). The vibes are always good here. You can sit near the water where you may spot the local gator and turtles, they have live music some days & they're nearly always packed. There have been a few occasions where the service wasn't the best, however we have had more good times than bad.

Service was exceptional here. We were seated immediately on a Friday night. Drinks were good and the service was extremely fast. Food was good except the shrimp and green beans were cold. Fries were excellent. Shrimp pasta was hot and also excellent and well seasoned. The fried provolone was phenomenal. Live bands on the weekends and a real local feel. Def recommend for good service, food, and music.

Food was less than mediocre, but enjoyed the music and drinks. Just have to know what you're getting.

The Lazy Lizard delivered a fun, laid-back vibe with great food, good service, and live music. We dined for lunch outdoors, which was great but make sure you prepare as it can be pretty hot. The grilled chicken Caesar wrap was fresh and delicious. My husband raved about his chicken bowl. Portions were generous, and prices felt very reasonable for the quality. The Lazy Lizard is definitely worth a visit!

Food is always good, wait staff is super attentive, seating situation not good. The problem is, you'll have a long wait for a table if there is a popular band. They will not seat two at a four chair table, they want to fill those seats. We've witnessed favoritism for sure, we ended up leaving after a long wait. And the bathrooms are not handicap friendly, a wheelchair doesn't fit in them. Very unfortunate, we love their entertainment and it's fun to watch people on the dance floor.

I have been here a few times but wanted to try the ribs on a recommendation and they had a band playing, bearded brothers, that I have wanted to see so we decided to go on Sunday night. Food: the food was much better than expected. There was two of us sharing an each of ribs with a bake stuffed potato and green beans. The rib meat fell off the bone, the potato was nicely seasoned and cooked but the surprise was the green beans. They are fresh green beans cooked in bacon and beer, they were excellent. We also shared 12 wings 1/2 with rib and 1/2 naked. They were crisp and not over cooked. The band bearded brothers was good as well. The servers are busy so I did have to flag one down for a refill on my drink and for a few other things but over all it was a good experience. The two downsides to the place is that it can get really loud so don't plan on a conversation and there are a ton of people smoking.

Wife and I went over to Hernando Beach Fl to kayak the Weeki Wachee River. We visited several restaurants while there. Our absolute favorite was the Lazy Lizard. The atmosphere was buzzing with a live performer singing all our favorite country songs. Bar sits right on the canal to view all the wildlife. Our server Ashley was spectacular and she was very busy !!!!! My wife had the blackened Grouper sandwich, ( might have been the best grouper yet ) I had the grilled HogFish. Perfectly cooked and nice and flakey. I 100%, 5 thumbs up recommend this bar !!!!!!

    Cute lizard

Awesome time this weekend!!! Crowded but was able to get a table during live music!! Loved being on the water!! Food was amazing, they have vegan and vegetarian options which is GREATLY appreciated!!!! Maryann is the BEST SERVER in Hernando county hands down!! Highly recommend 10/10

Great ambiance. Live music. Large portions. Scratch kitchen. Worth the stop! Tasty food with great specials and lots of local fare.

Great place to party. But as others have said, don't come here if you intend to converse. Very loud music & smoke. Nice to be outside and on the canal. Food: Mostly fried. They must've changed chefs because the food was all sent back. Crabcakes were mostly filler. Scallops simply had a fried exterior (no seasoning). At least they were not overcooked. Philly cheesecake was the best. The cheesecake tasted like it had no cheese in it.

When the food, service, vibes, and live music are spot on I tend to give one of my few 5star reviews. Arrive by car, motorcycle, or golfcart, or heck- they line up on the water I've seen people come on kayaks, the parkings is sufficient, and grass overflow if it's packed. But don't worry, packed parkinglot still doesn't mean you wait forever. They have so many tables, high tops, large group seating, and bar spots it's perfect! The beer was ice cold, bottle and tap, and we enjoyed watching the March madness basketball games on the many TV's they have around the bar. My food each time I have been here has been nothing short of delicious! It's the perfect hole in the wall old Florida restaurant. When walking in the hostess will get you seated at your spot, you will pass a huge board listing all the local bands and musicians who come get the vibes lifted Florida style. If someone hasn't already brought their partner up to dance, you just wait for one of those iconic renditions of songs everyone loves. The lizard mark on the burgers is such a cute touch! It was juicy and the sauce was a great touch but not overwhelming and drowning out other flavors. The fries are a great side but the large cut coleslaw is great too! The servings are large with plenty to take home and enjoy the next day! (I just ate my leftover burger and fries and man that burger is just as good on day two. The onion rights are a light crispy batter, but the fried provolone was SO good with the marinara sauce. Grab some food and then head over to the liquor store to grab a bottle on your way back to the house. Service is always great. Bathrooms are inside the building and have always been clean.

The bugs like the orange juice at the lazy lizard!! Must be good!!!

When you arrive, the greeted with a…read morevery colorful building with different mermaids and their signature silver dolphins at the front of their store. They also have on one side, a boutique and on the other side is the restaurant. When we entered, we were seated right away. Our drinks taken by a very nice lady. Great personality and made us feel right at home. The menu has a lot to select from so it took some time to choose. I have to be honest, their raspberry ice tea is nasty. I switched to sweet tea, unfortunately it was nasty as well. But, I drank it. We placed our order, I had the clam strip basket with french fries and coleslaw. My friend had the lobster salad. The clam strips were very tasty, but they were all more on the small side and there was more french fries than clan strips. My friend had the salad which contained more salad than lobster pieces, but it had fresh tomato cucumber, and they use a type of mayonnaise for the dressing which I didn't care for. The prices for the amount of food was very expensive, but you were on the water and you had the opportunity to sit outside under shaded canopies, and lots of trees and flowers and view the canal which had lots of fish and hungry turtles. As I walked down the pathway, everything was decorated in plants and different nautical items, and it led to an outside bar. Also, in the front of the store is there dessert bar with cheesecake several kind, pumpkin pie, brownies, etc. They all look very delicious but I didn't indulge this time. Our waitress was very friendly. She checked on us often refilled our drinks and smiled through everything. Looks like she was very happy to be working and happy to take care of us. There are plenty of handicap spots for parking handicap spots for dining and the bathroom will accommodate a wheelchair or a motorized cart. I found everything to be clean, the food tasted good and it also tasted fresh. It was a nice place to go, but I believe because if it's location, it's more of a tourist trap and the prices are a little bit high for the amount of food that you get. Will I go back? Maybe. But there's other places on Shoreline Boulevard to try. I will admit that it is a very exciting place to go because of all the colorful decorations, the beautiful flowers the canal the turtles the fish they have a small boutique with beautiful jewelry and little knickknacks. If you haven't gone, I would give it a try. The parking is private and there's plenty of parking.

One thing I need to mention is that their iced tea is $4.25 a glass. In my opinion that is way too much. Also something you need to remember is that if your order comes with french fries they give you the option of either getting sweet potato fries or something different but they don't tell you that it's a two dollar charge to switch. So be careful changing or adding this and that. We never had to ask for a refill our waitress checked on us very often, made sure everything was OK, brought us extra things when we needed it. The clam strips were very fresh and I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries. The food is very good very fresh and very well prepared. If you haven't tried Bayport Inn, I highly recommend you give them a try. It's a very lively place and depending on the time you get there, it can either be quiet or loud because there's so many people. Definitely give them a try. Not enough handicap parking spots. You can park in their private space or across the street in the grass.

I bet most of us have, or had, a Nanny. A matronly figure in our lives who somehow earned the moniker, the nickname, Nanny. I know I did. That was my mother, to my kids. She loved being called Nannee. So, with that said, I already had a fondness for the place, before my Fav Fab One & I stepped in. Newbies, as it were. We were seated and greeted by the fabulous Crystal. Her eyes mesmerized through a gleeful palette of eyeshadow-y creativity. Funny how that ensured my Fab One, and I, that our Nanny stand-in du jour was gonna be fun. We found a mutual icebreaker. Now found, the nurturing Nanny-ness began. Picture this woman, Crystal, homing in on each diner with a GPS precision that magnified her magnificence. LOL Zooming by, then to a halt like a bridled and tied up thoroughbred. Fab One agreed we were watching 'greased' lightning (I love that one!). The woman I'm nuts about ordered The Landlovers BLT. She ordered bacon, folks! She is definitely a keeper! I enjoyed watching her enjoy her meal. As I munched on my Gyro Greek Omelette. A 3-egg 'egg roll' of Mediterranean might. Those slivers of Greek Gyro meat, the kind that is shaved off of a cone-shaped spire of blended meats. A masterpiece in meatology. Crystal slid in a cup of that oddly exotic Tzatziki sauce. White creamy concoction of cucumber, yogurt, garlic and more. Yum to the YUM. We also got the occasional maternal check-in from another wonder, named Chrissy. Hmmm, Crystal AND Chrissy. Sounds like a sitcom duo. She provided the appetizing background on Nanny's. Offerings of the day we might like to savor. Samples of carrot cake. Along with a batch of kindness. Yeah, we had a grand time. Our first time. Not likely to be a one-time wonder, either. Imagine that, just a turn signal's width off of 19. Put your signal on and turn, next time by. We gotta turn and return. A Nanny is there.
