Food has gone way down hill from when this was the Cove. Service was slow, it took 45 minutes to get our food. The server was not trained properly on how to serve. Two of the wait staff women were loud and rude. The ribs were awful. Not worth the money. read more

Visiting first time yesterday for the new ownership and was very impressed with the cleanliness the friendliness of the staff there everybody was doing their job the wings came out perfectly cooked which I always have a problem with the shrimp was very very good actually tasted like lobster nice and big and huge not that Frozen crap that we used to and everybody is used to and your zucchini sticks were on point because they are fresh made from scratch and the daughter was outstanding and the sauce I don't know what kind of sauce you're using for that but it was on point again 100% I give you guys just keep up the good work I remember presentation is always key it doesn't matter if you're doing everything from scratch actually it does matter but people don't mind waiting for something that's that enjoyable so please keep up the good work and you have a great chef there chef Tony is one of the best and hopefully you guys will do a lot better now that the mullet is closed wishing you all the best of luck and prosperity signs chef Tomaso Antonio cuccio thank you again read more

Lazy Lizard rocks!! The food is good, full bar, friendly staff. And the music from local musicians is such fun! Saltwater Cowboys (George Mac and Angel Soto), Dave Freeman Live and Fred L George are some of the best musical acts they book. George Mac is so fun, he has a following!! read more

Let's start with super slow. Meh drinks. Also super slow unless your friends with the bartender. The food was also very meh. The waitress had maybe 2 tables but we never saw her and she actually blamed her bad service on them only having one microwave. We actually used a passing by waitress for most of our business, which was going to be dinner but ended up being calamari and one drink. I wouldn't bring anyone to this place or recommend it. I was looking forward to treating my family to food and drinks at the Lazy Lizard. When we arrived there was no host/ess, so we sat at one of the several empty tables. After 15 minutes of being ignored I tried to order drinks at the bar to be told we had to wait for a server. 15 minutes more and still no service. Not only did several staffers ignore us but when we did eventually get their attention they refused to take an order and spoke to us in a rude and unprofessional manner. We were stunned by the lack of respect shown to us. When decided to leave staff sneered and were unhelpful to say the least. We will never return and would certainly not recommend the Lizard to any of our many Hernando Beach friends and neighbours. read more

Aweful! I understand being busy on a Friday night but really. We ordered chicken wings for a four year old because that's what he wanted. The waitress kept saying those aren't on the kids menu, we didn't expect them to be. We ordered them plain traditional with no sauce on them but with mild sauce on the side. After waiting over 30 mins his wings came with the sauce on them and hotter than my Cajun wings. Finally found someone to find our waitress and she said "well I guess I ordered them wrong" no kidding. Then she said "I guess I'll have to eat them and order the correct ones". Why yes you do! It took another 30 minutes for this child to get his food. Finally had to ask her to please bring him some celery or something to eat while we were waiting. It was such an inconvenience to her. I will never eat there again, the food was not worth the wait. read more

We were so excited to try this place after a day of kayaking on the river. We tried ordering an appetizer and had to return it due to not being able to chew it. We ordered the catch of the day fish sandwich. It was flounder and not very good at all, the fries were decent and the pickle was well a pickle. We had four people in our party and no one was thrilled with what they got (keep in mind dive bars are our favorite). The young male server was very rude when advised about the appetizer and the owner was extremely defensive. Stick to the Drunken Mullet which is very close and has very friendly servers even when you show up close to the kitchen closing. read more

First visit to The Lazy Lizard. The shrimp was amazing. The music by George Mac was great. He plays music for all ages and really gets the crowd involved. We danced all night. Great job George Mac !!!! read more

This little spot on Hernando Beach serves good food and friendly staff. Jada is very helpful. We sat outside and watched turtles swimming in the canal. read more

This place was a rare find. Great vibe, awesome food and excellent service. It may come up in GPS as Cove , but it changed hands in June and is awesome. Live music a real bonus! read more
