A fantastic staff of hard working gals and great food overall. But I must highlight the chipped beef gravy. It's the best I've had in the country and I've had it from coast to coast. Only a couple places in town that even have it on the menu and none are close to theirs. Traditionally it gets served over toast I do mine over home fries and just incredible. We came doen from Jacksonville to Hudson to help my parents after Helene. They were one of the restaurants open. They were busy but the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. They have specials every day (Greek food, fiah fry ect). Its a small diner that serves classic diner food. We were surprised that we had not been before that is one of oyr favorites. My parents have gone back since we introduced them to it. Their biscuts and gravey were really good. The kids pncakes were also delicious. Over all if your in the area give Niko's a try! read more

The food is good. The service is good and the price is right with good portion sizes.

If the goal was to bring inflation and New York City prices to Hudson, Fl. I would say the goal was accomplished. I spent 23$! for a below average chicken wrap and a pint of Amber Bock. That's nearly double the local competition. While I appreciate the Diner feel and look of the place, I can't justify spending 14$ for a chicken wrap and 7$ beers.?.!. Maybe "Niko" think's he opened a bar on Clearwater beach? The staff was adequate to the point where they can listen and point at a seat... nothing new to be expected there, not much personality from the 2 50+ year old late night service staff. The location has been half a dozen different names and restaurants over the last 5 years, with non competitive prices, there will be another sign out front within 6 months. read more

A friend of mine joined to try this little place. She has hearing aids and had much trouble trying to tone down all the noise. Even conversation across a 2 top was difficult. There is nothing to absorb the noise - it was clanging dishes, too many conversations, just way too loud for us. We never went back. We stopped at another place but the wait and line to get in for a later weekend breakfast was long and scary. So we looked and just around the corner was this place. A rather nice hole in the wall where if you show up more than once they know your name. Seating sections is small but comfortable. The decorations are a little scattered but give it that old school dinner type feel. Waitstaff is friendly and outgoing and constantly moving and talking to customers. Prices are really good and low considering the amount you get which is a lot. Food is not fancy but it is good and filling! This is what a family restaurant should be! I used to work here this place is a absolute joke I will be calling who ever I need to to get this place shut down minimum wage in the state of Florida is 13$ they pay there bussers 3.50 an hour and the servers don't tip u out at all he says they do at the end of the week but at end of the week ur only gonna have like maybe 20$ he cooks his raw fish in the microwave literally raw fish I can't make this up he mixes the coleslaw in a bucket with this bare hands with his harry ass arms an the cooks only make 10$ an hour I was a dishwasher made 10 then I move up to cook an didn't even get any more money this place is a absolute joke oh and they pay everybody under the table this place needs to be shut down ran by straight scum bags read more

Our server Taylor was GREAT along with all the other ladies. Bummer was it was our first time and my husband ordered a Cheeseburger and he said it was delicious but it had no bacon on it which he requested. I also wanted to try the rice pudding and they were out but they gave me a sample of coleslaw and it was so yummy. I had the breakfast special that included sausage links, coffee and juice. To my surprise the plate was full and the sausage links were pretty big. This was a great place to get breakfast. The waitress was very friendly and good and the food came out fast. The prices are very very fair and the portions bounteous. The place has the best prices around. A breakfast of 2 eggs, 2 meat, potatoes or grits, 3 small pancakes, small juice and coffee all for $8.00. They also have lunch and dinner specials, most of the dinner specials go for $10.95 and they have an All You Can Eat special of Fish (don't remember the price but I think it's $8.98. There's not much ambiance and the waitresses can be a bit slow getting to you but the food is good and the prices can't be beat! read more

Listen I can understand the fact it's hard to find good help. However beware walking into a dinner with a needs cook sign. The soup was beef vegetable. The fact that there was no broth but only grease should have been the first warning. The pasta in the soup was mush and the soup over scorching HOTT. Now the entire was sausage and peppers over spaghetti. Never in my life have I ever seen this dish brown in color and nothing sticking to the spaghetti. We are working here from out of town but if your local don't let the elderly eat here. The staff was super polite but the food might cause a medical issue. read more

We found this restaurant by accident. Our golf game was rained out and I wanted somewhere to eat out. Not being from this area I searched our GPS for restaurant near by. Niko's Grill sounded like an interesting place to go. At first I thought our GPS was taking us off the grid which in away it did. Down some back roads through a tiny community we arrived at Niko's Grill. Being from Canada I was doubtful whether to go into Niko's or not but I'm glad we did. When I open their doors this little restaurant was seated with locals. First impression was it's 2:30 pm and the place was busy but a good busy. We seated ourselves and within minutes we were greeted with one of their two waitresses. Both ladies were amazing. They were very attentive to every table, refilling all requests even helped celebrate a few local's birthdays. A young gentleman walked in from the rain set at the counter and they offer him a piece of birthday cake and even a ride home. Apparently they knew who he was. He quietly ate his cake and left. Not quite sure if he was walking or if he had a ride home. My husband had their spaghetti and meatball which could feed two people maybe more. Myself I had claims strips with fries which came with side orders. The spinach and rice soup was amazing. The claims were the best I ever had. And lots as well. We definitely will keep Niko's Grill in our GPS. The best part it's only 10 minutes away from our place in New Port Richey. read more

Heard about this restaurant from close friends that the omelettes are big enough for two and awfully good. My hubby and I decided to try it for breakfast. We have tried different breakfast items and haven't been disappointed yet. It's always served hot, fresh off the grill, pancakes are as big as the plate. They have excellent staff! Came in around 12:30pm and there was a decent crowd. I ended up getting the chicken souvlaki gyro. It tasted great but it was hard to eat without making a mess. I tried eating it inside the foil wrapped around it, but that didn't help. Ended up having to eat it with a knife and fork. This was only a small inconvenience. Very small and clean place with very friendly staff and very reasonable prices. They Said that there were new cooks back in the kitchen, very young ones. I don't know, I just know that my burger was well done instead of medium rare and when They remade it, it was slightly medium in a small bite of the center at best. For the most part it was well done, but I ate it anyway (had to feed the growling tummy monster!). It did not have much flavor, like zero seasoning, but a lot of grease. Could not taste the bacon on it, although they did cook that very well to my liking. The coleslaw I think is really heavy on the horseradish. The onion rings were great! Johns philly was pretty good I guess. The fries were pretty good, I think they could've probably cooked a hair longer to give a little crisp to the outside. Anyway, that was our experience. Oh and maybe it was because it was closing time, but I guess because it's a small place the staff think it's OK to just talk loudly through the restaurant to the customers and to each other. Also, I really didn't feel like listening to them banter back-and-forth about some other employees and work problems. That should be done in the back in a way that customers don't have to hear it or after closing. All the loud "chatter" made it difficult to have a conversation. I do give them credit for writing off the cost of my meal without even asking, hence the 4 stars. I do plan to give the place another try, but maybe next time I'll try the fish I'll update my review after my visit. read more

I came back for the All U can Eat Fish Fry on Friday night. Being Lent I thought this was a great idea of Niko's. It was packed but I got my fish fast and hot. It came with French Fries which were okay and hot. The fish was just as the waitress told me it would be when I had breakfast the other day. It was FANTASTIC FISH!!!! I think she said it was Haddock or Pollack I can't remember. I just know it was really tasty!!!! It also came with slaw and for dessert I had the rice pudding! It was great. All this for $5.99!!! You can't beat that!!!! Lots of seniors and tourists but that's okay I like them!!! One word of caution. If you leave home with your Master or Visa card you might be sorry. CASH ONLY here !!! Got the biggest, sloppiest (that's a good thing) $7 burger I think I have ever had - fries and coleslaw included. That was just the single. They have a double deluxe with bacon that is about 6 inches tall. More food than will fit in your mouth! Will be returning to sample some of the dinner menu as it also looked delicious.
