Great steak and pork chop. The service was first class as was the choice of menu items. Don't be fooled strip mall location. This is a fine restaurant. The meat was all prime. read more

Every dish, every visits, every time it's wonderful. Truly a gem in Bville and well worth tlit for value, portions, and service.

4 stars for the service. 3 stars for the food. I ordered a medium well ribeye and my husband ordered a medium rare filet. Mine came out pretty rare and bloody and my husbands was more well done than it should've been. Our server immediately recognized this and had an additonal filet made "on the house" and had my steak cooked a bit longer. Mine still came out less than medium but at that point I just wanted to eat. We both tried the au gratin potatoes, not a fan. The taste was sort of like beer cheese for some reason. Highly recommend the egg roll appetizer! Those were phenomenal! Lastly they have a Pana Bottle of water on the table that you have to pay extra for. Kind of like a hotel room snack bar - pretty silly. read more

Chop Block Grill feels like one of those hidden gems you're glad you stumbled upon. The menu offers a great variety of options with price points that work for different occasions, whether you're planning a casual night out or a special date night. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance--upscale and intimate without feeling stuffy--and everything is made fresh to order. We started with the crab cake appetizer, and it was the real deal--packed with blue crab and no filler, just how it should be. The vegetables and shrimp paired with the teriyaki were cooked perfectly, flavorful without being overpowering. The Monterey Jack chicken was impressive: a huge chicken breast, juicy, tender, and cooked just right. The portion sizes were larger than expected for a more fine-dining-style restaurant, which was a pleasant surprise. And a special shout-out to our waitress, Chanel, who was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made the entire experience even better. Great food, great service, and a cozy date-night vibe--definitely worth a visit. read more

The food was amazing, restaurant was clean, atmosphere was a vibe, and the staff was incredibly kind. Shout out to Georgia who was our hostess (but should be a server), she put a smile on our faces the second we walked in, and helped up clean up a mess we made with nothing but pure kindness and a smile on her face!! read more

We made reservations on a Friday night at 6. There is plenty of parking out front. We were sat immediately. Our server was friendly and attentive. We started with two appetizers. Coconut Shrimp and the Cuban Egg rolls. Both were tasty and I would order both again. Entrees included, ribeye with baked potato, seafood pasta, spicy Monterey Jack Chicken (very mild) BEEF AU POIVRE. Everything was delicious! My chicken was especially good! Juicy and flavorful! We will return and try new things on the menu. The ambience was casual and relaxed. read more

As usual, I went with my gut and chose a mom-and-pop spot. The debate was between Florida Cracker Kitchen and Chop Block Grill--and let me tell you, we couldn't have made a better decision. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere struck that perfect balance between cozy and refined. Low lighting, a touch of upscale flair, and a menu that immediately promised some seriously tempting dishes. Our server, Destiny, was an absolute gem. She knew the menu inside and out, offering recommendations that felt more like insider secrets than the usual run-down of specials. Friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the food, she set the tone for the night. We had just come off the disc golf course, so the choice was obvious: a burger. But not just any burger--the real test came when I asked for it cooked medium. Would they nail it? When it arrived, I cut into a perfectly pink, juicy center with a hot, seared exterior. Test passed with flying colors. Alongside it came a fresh, gourmet-style house salad. Destiny raved about the ranch dressing, calling it the real deal--true buttermilk richness. I went with the house blue cheese, which was decent, I asked Destiny to give the ranch to try with my fries. One bite and I knew--she was right. That ranch is next-level. All in all, Chop Block Grill is now firmly on my "must-return" list whenever I'm in Brooksville. And if Destiny isn't on shift, whoever takes over better be ready--because those are some big shoes to fill. read more

Another amazing meal here? Heath made our experience even better. Love that they serve Aqua Panna, this is what we like when we go out...ordered French Onion Soup and it was served hot and was absolutely delicious! They serve Breadsticks and they are wonderful too...ordered the Shrimp Scampi over Fettuccine and it was served fresh and hot and was delicious! The star of the evening was the Ribeye...served with your choice of one side...mouthwatering, flavorful and one of the best Steaks we have ever had and we have been to them all! The Steak was amazing....love the casual atmosphere here and the friendly staff too...cannot wait to try another entree and get a few bites of that Steak again!! read more

Nice dining room and great staff. Steak was seasoned properly, cooked to my ordered temp and presented well. My only disappointment was the grade of steak. That is what turned a great dinner into an average meal. read more

Jumbo Lump Crabcake appetizer...no jumbo lump crab and tons of filler..not the description on the menu When the entrees arrived both my husband's and my sides were cold...his crusted potatoes tasted like frozen from walmart...the salmon was ok but the glaze was overwhelmingly ketchupy tasting and my husbands prime rib was something you would get at an Applebees...so disappointing , haven't been in 2-3 years but wow will never go again read more

After looking for a last minute place to eat while passing through brooksville, we settled on Chop Block Grill. Located in a strip plaza, with a large parking lot. The restaurant itself is small and quaint with limited seating, so better to call ahead for a reservation. It was late and almost closing time when we arrived, and didn't have a reservation. Regardless, they seated us anyhow. Super great service by both the host and our server. Even the manager came over and said hello and shared some info about the restaurant and how it was started. Let me start by saying Portion sizes are great! Usually with steakhouse prices, the portions don't add up. But this is not the case here! I could barely finish my meal on an empty stomach, little enough with the appetizers I ordered. Let's talk food.. BEST coconut shrimp I have EVER had! They are served with a coconut cream sauce that is to die for! Shrimp are fresh breaded and not saturated in grease. The Cuban egg rolls.. yum!! And full of meat! The apple butter glazed pork chop was so juicy and tender with a nice hint of apple. Pork chop.. more like pork steak! And those Caramelized red onions.. great touch. Especially added onto the salad... Baked potato came with a great selection of fresh toppings to load it up. Back to the salad.. phenomenal. The steak on top is cooked to your liking, and is so tender! The fruit on top so very fresh. Can't say enough great things, or wait to come back and try more of this menu! Also they have a full bar, which I did not divulge in this time. read more

Chanel was amazing and had excellent drink suggestions. Her namesake cocktail was so delicious. I had an excellent, lush French Rose. The grouper was firm, fresh, and delicious. The crab cake was good, and the French onion soup was excellent. I usually just eat the cheese but this time I finished it all! We will visit again. read more

IF YOU COME HERE WEAR A COLLARED SHIRT! Andi and I ended up stopping in at the Chop Block Grill for dinner on our getaway weekend trip. I saw this Yelp review, and the food looks great, but I definitely came underdressed, and I do apologize to Jami and the staff. We stuck out like hillbillies. Jami is a local of Brooksville and took care of us Saturday night and was an absolute sweetheart. I ended up ordering off their seafood menu on the right side and got one of their specials in the red snapper, and had seasoned up the way Jami preferred. all of the food is cooked when ordered, so it did take a little longer than usual, but it was worth the wait and absolutely delicious. My food: Fish: 9.4 Broccoli: 9.0 Asparagus: 7.8 (that's my fault I should have asked for them well done) Andi: She said her food was 5/5 stars. (complete Newby ranking system Scale system 10/10 would be what I want for my last meal 9.9-9.3 driving out of my way to get this 9.2-8.0 like the place and would go back 7.9-7.0 I would come here again if it were presented and don't have anything bad to say 6.9 and below - thanks but no thanks after try one read more

I went on a Saturday night & sat at the bar, the bartender Daniel was fantastic, he was very attentive, friendly & efficient while being the only bartender, tending to us & the rest of the restaurant. Four of us spent the morning and early afternoon at Weeki Wachee and then headed over to Brooksville, a cool little town. We stopped at Chop Block Grill for lunch. This eatery is in an uninteresting strip mall, but do not judge a book by its cover. When you enter, it is a charming ambiance, art on walls, pleasant jazz music. Kaitlyn was our very attentive and friendly server. Two ordered the Tuesday lunch special - burger (cheese extra) fries and iced tea for $7. Other two had fish tacos, $10, and country fried steak, $12 drinking a bottle of Pellegrino, $5. I can imagine that CBG would be a great place for dinner because lunch was excellent. read more

Chop Block Grill - Lunch - Steakhouses Near Me - Brooksville, Florida

What a pleasant surprise . Running errands and decided to stop for lunch. From the outside it almost looks closed but once inside it's a wonderful experience. Lunch menu is very diverse. Hubby had a French dip and I had a Cobb salad that was full of fresh crisp greens with bacon , grilled chicken, hard boiled egg and tomato. It was so big that I ate 1/2 and took the rest home for a second lunch. Hubby's sandwich was a beautiful sandwich that didn't skip on juicy tender beef and some of the best fries ever said hubby . I can't omit a compliment to Jamie , our server , who was friendly and polite . Definitely a must try and for us a must return !! read more

Had the Tuesday lunch special. This was a 1/2 lb burger with shoestring style fries and iced tea. The burger had cheddar cheese, onions lettuce, tomato and pickle. It was a "tasty burger ", but a little dry. The fries were very good ( crispy and well seasoned. The iced tea was just that. Nothing more and nothing less. The key here is that this lunch was $9. That's less than many fast food chains. read more

Super nice owners and pleasant staff. So nice to have an upscale restaurant here in Brooksville the food is great and there is a good selection for lunch and for dinner. Came here with my mom and brother My mom who is pretty critical said it was the best meal she's had in forever She got the salmon with the house sauce. My brother got grouper grilled very plain. It was a beautiful chunk of fish and loved it I got rib eye which the flavor was delicious but too much fat for me. I usually get filet but didn't want to spend $50 which was my mistake bc the rib eye was $40 The best thing though was the crab cake appetizer! We are Marylanders and didn't believe how authentic and amazing it was. Zero filler! Looking forward to going back! Ignore the icky shopping center it's worth going in! Service was top notch as well- very attentive read more

The service wasn't that great. We ordered wine and 2 glasses of water and had to ask for water twice before we got it. We ordered soup for an app and it never arrived and when we asked where it was, our food was already getting dropped off. The steak tasted amazing but the prices are too expensive since it only comes with one side. Most places offer 2 sides especially when you're paying 40+ per steak. $200 later and not the best experience read more

Nice clean quiet restaurant. Great specials. Highly recommend Cuban egg rolls. Friendly staff. Will definitely return.

Very disappointed with the quality and service at the establishment . I had to return my steak 3 times and did not come back correctly. The French onion soup was soggy. Over all I will not go back . I spent over 400.00 for a bad experience . Be ware before you step in this place . read more

Food is exceptional. Lunch specials are economical & delicious. Wait staff is very attentive. Everything is made fresh so waiting a little longer for great food has never been a problem with us. We went to Chop Block for the Tuesday lunch special. A large excellent burger and fries with ice tea. The place was crowded but quiet because of the excellent table arrangement. The staff was slammed by the lunch crowd but still professional, fast, and cheerful. All in all we highly recommend Chop Block Grill! read more

Do you remember Ponderosa Steakhouse? Well, IMO, it's been resurrected in Chop Block Grill...except the prices are WAY higher. I've seen so many good reviews for Chop Block, I was anxious to try them. There were issues (petty, really), and some are described below. Bottom line was that my ribeye was less than 1/2 inch thick and full of fat. And I would argue that it wasn't even close the 12 oz that was advertised on the menu. The taste was okay (brought back memories of Pondersosa!), but for $39, I expected a little more. Well, a lot more actually. My husband's strip steak, at $40, was decent tasting, but, again, I would bet not the 10 oz that we paid for. Our dinner, at close to $150 with tip, was lackluster at best. Broccoli was good, rosemary fries were a little under cooked, bread sticks were okay. Wine list was underwhelming. We won't be back. If you're still reading, and care, below are my nitpick comments... I tried calling when they opened for a reservation (per their website), but wasn't able to get through; got a busy signal for over an hour and a half. We went anyways, figuring we'd go somewhere else if we couldn't get in. The manager (I assume) said they were having phone issues, and seated us in the hallway right away. There wasn't a drink menu on the table, and none was offered, so my husband went and got one. His wine was served in a water glass because they "ran out of wine glasses". How does that even happen? It was a nice water glass, but still. Our table was wobbly. Not the kind of wobbly that can be fixed by stuffing a few napkins under a leg. I think the table top needed to be screwed onto the base kind of wobbly...see video. I realize that the restaurant business is very competitive, and costs have gone up substantially. But because it is so competitive, I would think that little things that make a difference in a dining experience that don't impact your daily costs (like service, decor, etc) would be a top priority in obtaining and keeping customers. And better meat cuts. Yep, definitely better meat cuts. read more

What a find, Brooksville I don't write a review unless it's special, and this place is Special!!! We started off with the French Onion soup and I will tell you that it's the best I've had in a long time. The soup was served hot and perfectly seasoned, the broth was flavorful but not over loaded with sodium. Next week ordered the Steak salad and it did not disappoint the Steak was cook to perfect temperature and the greens were fresh as well as the strawberries and balsamic dressing was fresh and flavorful. So next we had to try deset and the Limoncello is a must have a long with the berry marscapone crumb cake. If you like local Mom and Pop places this will be your go to for sure. As you walk into this restaurant that is in a very unlikely strip plaza WATCH YOUR STEP as you enter through the doors the floor is rocky, the tiles are loose. Let me start with the decor, THERE IS NONE! It is poorly lit, and uninviting. The place was empty, due to it just opened, but they still had to sit us all the way in the back, the table was unstable‍. I wanted to turn around and leave, but didnt. Surprisingly the food was very good, that is why the 2 stars. The waitress was unattractive, never came back to the table to see if we needed anything. Good Grief there was no one in the place. Would I go back, no, there are better restaurants arround. Would I recommend this place. No! Again there are better places. I would rather go to Outback! read more

This place is the definition of don't judge a book by its cover. The Mrs and I were in Brooksville looking for a place to eat after helping to empty my great aunts house. We were dressed super casual and might even have been smelly. . She found this place on Yelp so we mapped it and drove over. We pulled into a super sketchy looking strip mall with many of the places out of business. The windows of the restaurant are tinted so you can't see in. We thought it was suspect but went in anyway and sooooooo glad we did. Very nice chill, slightly upscale vibe inside but still casual. The prices were not bad at all. An appetizer, 4 drinks, 2 entrees and a desert was $169 before tip and let me say the food was sooooo worth it. Wow. Everything was amazing. Crab cake app was insanely good. Cooked perfectly and the house made tarter sauce was delish. The French onion soup and Caesar salad were very good. The steaks were some of the best cuts of meat we've both had in a long time. Cooked perfectly and seasoned well. She got the ribeye rare and I got the filet rare. Both melted in our mouths. The lemon cake was light and full of flavor without being super sweet. Oh wait!!! Let's not forget those freaking breadsticks. Absolute !!!! Lightly fried and covered in butter but still tasted like soft bread. Lawd I want more already. LoL. We were blown away and highly recommended this place. read more

Very disappointed !!!! my husband and I have been here a few times and every time it was fantastic. I left a 5 star review six months ago. I kept telling family members how fantastic it was. Well we all went Saturday night 1/17 to celebrate three birthdays...... now I feel like I owe them another dinner. I raved about the French onion soup and it was just OK. Nothing like it had been before.. Then we ordered the short rib appetizer and you're lucky if there was 2 ounces of meat -most of it was bone and grizzle. My husband asked for his fillet to be medium. He had to send it back twice. The temperature on my ribeye was correct , however, I asked for a nice crispy sear instead, I was staring at big white globs of fat. Any reputable Steak House would know that you have to render the fat!!! we always had gotten the au gratin potatoes. I raved about them too. They were a little on the greasy side. Don't know what's happened here -Very disappointed this time around. read more
