If I could give 0, I would. Girls lunch there, and all hot food poisoning. . The place was also dark and dreary-looking.

We ordered the fried green tomatoes. I only wish they were sliced just a tad thinner, but they were tasty nonetheless. My friend got the pork and she had enough for 2 meals. I got the grouper and it was a smaller portion but a perfect size and very good as well. The standout as the Reese's cookie. It was big and crispy on the edges and nice and soft everywhere else. We shared this and the price was great at $4. In a world filled with crumbl at $5+, this cookie blew them away. I really enjoyed this meal.

Well worth a visit had the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and we had the chicken and the salmon dinners with asparagus and roasted potatoes. It was very good. The service was outstanding. My drink was never empty and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. I like the old time feeling of being in old Brooksville which this place gives off. It's a place that would return to and if you haven't gone there at least try it one time. However. I would tell you make a reservation, but also get there early because parking is at times hard to find. I lucked out had a parallel parked right next to the front door, first time, my parallel parked in 40 years and I stuck at the first time very proud of myself. Here's some pictures of our dinners.

In town on business. Stopped informing lunch. So glad I did…read more Every thing on the menu looked amazing. Opted for the salmon bowl - choices of blacked, teriyaki or plain. I love that I could also choose between regular or cauliflower rice. I selected cauliflower (so I could save calories for creme brûlée). I admit that I am a bit of a creme brûlée. It's my favorite! This one was good but I prefer a more solid crunch top. This was patchy. (I already told you that this is a ME thing) - most people would love this. It tasted really good. Open, inviting seating area. Angelica was pleasant and professional even though she was quite busy.

We were seated at the bar and the host shared a few seasonal options- super helpful off the bat. Then things slowed WAY down. It took a lot of time to place our drink orders. The we ordered two apps that we were sharing- the burrata and grilled peach salad (a seasonal option the host talked about) and the Brussel sprouts. We had time to chat with each other until the sprouts came out- delicious! The salad didn't come. Another round of drinks didn't happen. Waters didn't come. The salad arrived more than 45 minutes after ordering and the server said "sorry that took awhile"- it was delicious. And...that was it. No one checked if we needed anything while we dined, just kept walking in front of us in the bar- I requested our check and we paid. Based on this experience, try them out if your goal is to get some good food with minimal service and you have patience and time to spare. Honestly, the food was good enough that I will give them another try, I'll see if this was just an off night or not.

It was about 7.50 after paying in cash. I waited for a couple minutes, and it my name was called to pick up my order. I ate outside in a small bench. The hotdog was loaded with the toppings like relish, pickles, and peppers. I added mustard and ketchup too. The hotdog was plump, and the toppings were alright. It isn't as good as Portillos, but still decent for the price. It was filling for lunch too. The atmosphere is the same, but the party room in the back is now available in you have an extra air conditioned space to eat. It wasn't that crowded outside, but there were quite a few inside. I guess more people wanted the cooler area as it was a bit hot and humid outside. Parking can sometimes be hard to get in the front, so there is a back area too. There is a small stage for concerts now, but I haven't seen any yet. The mechanical horse still works, but the dino one was out of order, and the dolphin one looks to be gone. Staff is pretty quick and friendly. I am glad I ate here again on Sunday as the food was good and filling. No complaints for 7.50 on a footlong Nathan Chicago dog. Will continue to visit occasionally when I am in Brooksville. Overall: B

We told the woman behind the counter we were newbies and she said welcome and told us to just study the board. We both decided on the Long New Yorker with a side of fries. It was cut in half, (think foot-long) it was a little hard to eat, but it was so deliciously filled with yummy ingredients. It had Kraut, spicy mustard and a sweet onion sauce like they have in NY. It was so good, but when I am in the area again, I'll just opt for the short version. :) Stop in and give this gem since 1960 a chance, who knows, you might even run into Elvis while you are there. ;)
