I love checking out local coffee shops whenever I'm in a new city or town, and I had driven past Mountaineer Coffee several times when going to visit family and hadn't stopped in. Finally I got the chance to stop and I was not disappointed! The vibe of the coffee shop and ambiance was amazing- a super cozy spot with different rooms to sit in, a little shop, colorful, everything you'd want in a coffee shop. The service was good, and the coffee and food were delicious. Can't wait to go back again!

I love Mountaineer Coffee. Up until recently, it was basically the only non-corporate coffee shop I would patronize in Hernando County. There was another coffee shop somewhere closer to Spring Hill that closed but I never went because I heard the owners were like pro-Jan 6 Insurrection or something and loudly hated liberals. So I never bothered going. For a while, this was my only game in town, and It's 25 minutes from my house. I love the vibes of Mountaineer Coffee. It's situated perfectly in downtown Brooksville, which isn't a very vibrant place, but there are sidewalks so you could walk around a little I guess. Inside there are tagbles, comfy chairs, and a little shop with local art and trinkets. The coffee flavors are amazing, even when I get a black cold brew.

This is like an unexpected gem in Brooksville. I ended up here looking while looking for donuts on my way home. They did not have donuts but they did have pop pastry's and burritos (which were just as delicious as donuts). I got an iced americano and a strawberry pop pastry hoping it would be okay and it was DELICIOUS. I ate half and then ordered a breakfast burrito and it was just as delicious. It had the right amount of meat to egg ratio I was actually very impressed if I'm being honest. Knowing that this place is a short 15 minute ride from home is kind of dangerous. I love it here.

One of my favorite coffee shops in Brooksville Fl! Make sure you check out their house made seasonal flavors especially right now their peppermint flavor is unlike anything you'd ever had

Both locations are fabulous! This is For the new one on the west side of brooksville. Every time I come back from that end of town, I try to stop for a cup of black coffee. Their African coffees are amazing, naturally since Ethiopian beans are the Best and make the smoothest coffee. Lately they have been serving South American. Is also very good.

Wow! Not sure how long this place has been here, but the coffee is amazing! From just a cup of coffee to a latte! Oh wait lavender latte! Yum! The pop tart pastry was amazing, the crust is lite and crusty but not hard, soft and buttery the filling is plentiful, I had the brown sugar, my friend had strawberry and we both agree was delish! I'm glad I was only visiting from out of town, cause I would be sitting there until I'm not!

Passing through the area and have heard a lot about this place. It did not disappoint! We tried a Large Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte iced and one hot with a total cost around $11. Both are delicious! I like that is a local owned business that also sells different roasted beans. There is also a cold case with other offered beverages. There is a separate room called "the market" with different products for sale. This particular location is open daily 7am-7pm. On Fridays at 7pm, they turn into a bar and stay open until 10:30pm. I highly recommend you trying this place out! We will come back again!

I ordered a caramel iced latte and it was great!! Service and people were awesome! I will be back.

I ordered the orange martini and asked if it was sweet - server said no... it came a couple mins later not full and extremely sweet. I asked her to pls fill the martini glass and use vodka to cut the sweet. Came back as palatable, albeit still sweet. Lunch came and the gumbo was excellent! Wife's shrimp po boy was on a bun, not a roll as expected, and was meh... lacked flavor. Still acceptable and came with an order of fries that was great. When the bill came I noticed the martini (14$) was on the bill as expected, but also had an addl 8$ for an extra shot. I asked what this was for and she said she added more Tito's, so I was charged. So now we have one full Tito's martini (still over sweet) for 22$. Wish I would have just returned the shitty drink and ordered a beer. When no bartender at place and servers need to make drinks this shit happens. Dumb move as we'll not ever go back. Lesson learned. Food is good, but stick with beer in this place.

It's an old house that's been transformed into a restaurant and each room has a theme. Super tight and small private parking lot so recommend parking on the road. All parking is free. When we arrived it was around 11:40ish and the wait time was 1 hour! Yes we waited. I was starving. We got called around the 40 minute mark. Taken to our table and waited and waited and waited -- probably 20ish minutes later we got our order taken! Drinks came out and the ice was already lacking, you could tell it was melted. They were out of the butterfly tea. The regular iced tea I ordered unsweetened with a bit of sweet was bitter and very dark in color. Bleh. For food I ordered the Honey You Must Try This which is fried chicken, spinach, tomato, crispy onion straws, house made cream cheese and honey mustard on top. The crepe itself was good but there was nothing that set this place apart for me! It did need more dressing and I think they forgot my cream cheese because I didn't see or taste it. Took awhile for the food to come out. Overall we were there a little over 2 hours! Crazy! The place is crazy busy and I'm not sure if it's a staffing issue or what but some improvements are needed. They need more shade in the front areas where they have benches and such for guests to wait. It's FL and the heat is no joke! The AC inside doesn't feel cold because so many people are inside and it's an old house. Staff and service is lacking. Not once did we get checked on during our time here. Actually if we needed something we had to get up and find someone or wait until they came to another table and flag them down. Decor is great and cute.

Add a half booth, you know, the time with a bench on one side and chairs. On the other where we were presented with 2 coffee mugs and asked if we wanted anything to drink While we looked at the menu, we told the host that we will order shortly. So she said okay and left. Upon looking around, we noticed that several tables were empty. But still dirty, and then we looked at our coffee mugs, and saw that they were dirty. So when our waitress showed up within a couple of minutes we asked for new cups And some coffee, and as soon as she came back to the table, she just poured coffee into 2 new cups without us. Even looking at them and then given a few more minutes to place a order We noticed that the table beside us was starting to get cleaned then they left without taking the dishes, we thought that was kinda odd being that my friend and I were previous restaurant owners ourselves what we understand that people get busy and then about 5 minutes later, the person came back and finished up the table. And at that time we placed our order Of which I ordered a special that they were running at the time. Mine was a italian type sandwich, and she ordered a taco neal without avocado, the food arrived not too long after we were there presented to us in a decent manner. They both looked good but to our surprise, both of our meals were pretty bland and the aforementioned coffee that was given to us had a very burnt, bitter taste to it. So we both decided to just drink our lemon water which the limits for the most part and her bowl of fruit, whether the best tasting options that we were given. Because my Italian sandwich was bland and the chorizo on the sausage are in the sauce was very overpowering. And I really would like to have enjoyed my sandwich but it was bland and almost tasteless. It did look good as did my friends breakfast tacos, she told me that the best part of it was the fruit bowl to help take away the taste in her mouth from it, i like trying different things whenever I go to a First Watch when I go. But this one did not seem to match the expectation that I've had at others I've been to And lastly, as with a lot of restaurants these days, as we were opening straws And discarding napkins and putting in a nice pile for the waitress to take away, it sat there until after we were done with our meal. Typically when you go to a table and you're asking questions and credibility with customers, you would clear away any trash and stuff around them if you can And do anything you can to comfort your customer other than that the waitress was attentive, just in my opinion, not awake yet, I don't know if they had a bad weekend or what but this is not what you would want. At a higher end breakfast place, I may try it again in the future. And see if they get their stuff together, in my opinion, or I may just go to another and see how they compare.

High tea is a small…read morepassion of ours, and over the years we have experienced many tea rooms across the country and abroad, so we arrived curious and ready to be charmed. The tea room itself is a beautiful, eclectic house. Spacious yet cozy, decorated in a delightful hodgepodge of styles that somehow comes together harmoniously. It feels whimsical without tipping into chaos. The kind of place where teacups don't match, and that is precisely the point. Making reservations was pleasantly easy. I emailed on a Sunday for a Wednesday seating and received confirmation by Monday. I was mildly surprised they did not require a credit card deposit, something many tea rooms now request given the labor-intensive preparation and delicate perishables involved. Their trust in the process is refreshing. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Amiee, the owner and our server, was friendly and engaging, walking us through the tea selections, the promise of unlimited pots, and explaining the offerings that would arrive throughout the experience. We ended up trying five different teas, each pot a small surprise thanks to Amiee's suggestions. I cannot remember all the names, but I can happily say we liked every one of them. One in particular tasted remarkably like banana bread in a cup. Warm, aromatic, perfectly balanced, and thankfully not overly sweet. We were also delighted by the Peach Apricot, bright and cheerful, and really enjoyed the Pomegranate Vanilla Lemur, which had a lovely layered flavor. We began with a creamy mushroom soup, rich and comforting. The scone, served before the tiered tray, was warm, buttery, and quite good, though notably without the traditional Devonshire or clotted cream. Still, it stood proudly on its own. The finger sandwiches were fresh and thoughtfully varied. The bread did not appear homemade, but the selections complemented each filling nicely and everything tasted fresh. The cheese muffin was flavorful, though we both mused that two smaller ones with a slightly moister crumb might have been even better. The sweet tier was satisfying overall. I was initially skeptical about the bread pudding, but the mini chocolate tart and a delicate lemon tart on filo more than made up for it. One of the highlights of the afternoon was chatting with Amiee about the journey of the tea room through the years, including the challenges of navigating the Covid era. I am always impressed by those who pursue a vision in the food industry. It is a difficult road, and places like this exist because of persistence, courage, and a genuine love of hospitality. Another pleasant surprise was the pricing, which is remarkably reasonable compared with the often lofty cost of afternoon tea elsewhere. All in all, The Tilted Teacup offers a warm, charming, and thoughtful tea experience. My friend and I left very pleased, well fed, and with the comforting sense that we had spent the afternoon exactly as it should be spent: with good tea, good conversation, and a table full of small delights. I happily recommend it.
