Not sure there is a better restaurant in Brooksville...The only negative here is they are not open for dinner. First, the staff is awesome. They work together as a team, often checking on each other's tables and filling drinks. Now, the food is insane. Excellent sandwiches, incredible soup, and their sides are good too. Just doesn't get much better than this. Dropped in town for work didn't wrap up until 3:30 and the MSE closes at 4, so they say. I heard it was the best Reuben and it was mighty delicious, paired with the pasta salcouldn't have asked for a better "linner". It's a great atmosphere and you can tell the staff appreciate working together and enjoy their jobs from all the hugs and kisses(platonic fashion) they shared as some were leaving. My wife & I went out looking for dessert and found this little gem. The environment captivated us the moment we arrived. The food here was so delicious. I had a Rolling Acres Salad with fresh veggies and scoop of chicken salad. My friend had a chicken salad sandwich. We both had the orange creamsicle icebox pie-OMG we swooned over the flavor and texture. Next time the peanut butter pie. My only negative was the poor service. This is a small busy mostly sandwich diner in downtown Brooksville, Fl. The service was good and the servers were attentive and friendly. We had a pressed Cuban sandwich with a small cup of beans and rice, and roast beef sandwiches on ciabatta rolls with a cup of soup. The Cuban was pretty authentic and good for the price. The bread on the roast beef sandwiches was way too dry. The meats on all were sparingly applied, but at around $7.50 to $8.00 a piece, in this economy, we understood this. We ordered a peach cobbler to share for desert. It was unremarkable except for us noticing after we paid the bill, that we were charged a fee of $3 for the use of 3 spoons. No one advised of this and a search of the menu revealed no mention of a rental charge for spoons. This caused that little scoop of peach cobbler with a little whip cream and small amount of "ice cream" to cost almost $8. Definitely an eye opener! read more

Right when we walked in we were greeted and sat right away. The they waited on us quickly and we got the food fast. One last thing. The staff were communicating non stop to each other. Nice little deli on the corner of main street. Easy street parking and friendly people from the staff to the customers. Everyone seemed to know each other. It's a small space, but just as many customers placed to go orders as those who dined in. We started with chips and salsa just to have something to munch on while we waited for our order which came pretty quickly. The house made bean and hamburger soup was richer and sweeter than expected, but quite delicious and filling. The potato salad was the highlight for me - chunky with just enough dressing. Their sandwiches, especially the Cuban looked amazing, but we were in the mood for soup. All in all a solid place to dine or order out for a delicious filling meal. read more

My parents and I came here on Saturday afternoon and we were very pleased with our experience. This is a cute little restaurant in downtown Brooksville. We were greeted and seated immediately by friendly staff members. The servers were excellent and very patient with all of our questions (my parents had a lot of questions). I ordered the Turkey Berry sandwich ($6.99) because I'm feeling that Fall feeling and indulging in it. At first, I thought the sandwich was rather small for the price, but really, it was the right size. It was delicious and fresh and completely satisfying. The pasta salad was tasty, too, but not too exciting. Both my parents were pleased with their dishes. For dessert, we ordered the Pumpkin Pecan Cobbler with vanilla ice cream....Wow! It was heavenly! My parents loved it so much they enquired about ordering a whole cobbler, which would cost $28.00. I will definitely come here again when I'm in the area, and I look forward to trying out their other cobblers/desserts. Great place! read more

Everyone was very nice and helpful when it came to questions about the menu. But the food was just ok. Never been to Brooksville before so to find a good lunch place I used Yelp as a guide. Main Street Eatery came up as our second choice as the Kracker Kitchen had a long wait. MSE is a basic sandwich shop with eat in service. The wait was longer than what I would consider acceptable for a sandwich shop and our group of five was considering leaving for another place just as our food arrived. I had the pressed Cuban sandwich which is advertised as the best in Brooksville, probably because is is the only place in Brooksville to get a Cuban sandwich. I have had plenty of Cuban sandwiches in Miami and MSE is good but not very authentic. The place looked clean and restrooms ok except the trash was nearly over flowing. Lunch for party of 4 + kids meal was about $45. Yelp had them at 4.5 stars I have them at a solid 3.0 and a good second choice. read more

I stopped by on a whim. This is such a quiet, cute place. The waitresses are really nice! Not to mention, I got 10% off because I work for the state. The sandwich was really good. I got the Peggy special. The bread is so soft and good! Best part of the sandwich to me! I got the potato cheddar soup. It was ok. Nothing amazing, but it wasn't bad. Next time, I will have to try another soup. And their sweet tea is just so good. It is not too sweet like some places. For checking in, I got a free cobbler.
