This was an unexpected stop as we were traveling to Tallahassee but when the menu boasts "famous for Cuban sandwiches" we had to stop. This deli is in an old strip mall on the west side of Brooksville and can't be missed with the big blue awning outside. Plenty of parking and a few tables inside and outside; take out was extremely popular. Three of us ordered the Cuban and one of us got the Italian sub. Waiting for our orders, we grabbed cold drinks from the cooler and bags of chips. Hot and seasoned well, the Cuban did not disappoint! The bread was toasted perfectly while the cheese was melted enough that the pickles were still chilled. Decent sized sandwich and the pork was definitely cooked with love; it was the star in the Cuban. The Italian sub was equally good even though they were out of the one meat but quickly subbed with pepperoni. The gals in the deli were friendly, efficient and busy! We needed a sandwich on a Saturday. We stopped by around lunch time. Staff were friendly. I ask for roast beef and they were out. I ask for turkey and they were out. So I had to get a Cuban. My wife ordered a tuna sandwich. It took about 15 minutes to make the sandwiches. My Cuban was good but small. My wife's tuna was ok but plain. Today my husband and I went here for lunch (12" yankee cuban and 12" big roast.) We ordered and was told it would take 30 minutes, we went to the grocery store in the meantime. We come back and the 2 people working were so very backed up, it took about an hour total for the 2 sandwiches. The lady behind the counter making the sandwiches was very overwhelmed but still wore a smile. My order wasnt exactly how I ordered but They were working so hard today. I have had 3 sandwiches from Deli World. First the Italian. So much meat and cheese. Made fresh right in front of me as well as the other two sandwiches I ordered. The dressing on the Italian was so good . Second sandwich was a Cuban. I thought I was in Tampa. Again so much meat and cheese and pressed. An authentically made cuban. Used to go here all the time. The food was amazing and so was staff. It's gone down hill. The food made me feel like I was back in NY in a real deli. Now it's just garbage food with nasty attitude from behind the counter. The wait is way too long for over salted soggy food. Manager was rude and insulting to staff in front costumers. Since the new owners their food has taken a left turn prices are way too high for subpar food, I don't know how many chances you are to give a place but I don't go to a place to buy HOT food to get COLD food instead. And no I don't want to come back so you can heat it the way it was supposed to be before I left in the first place. Do not go here they are not good people they serve cold food and charge top dollar for it ripping people off. I ust had to go DEMAND my money back and they called the police because I wanted my money back and yes I was frustrated and annoyed but only after I called them and they hung up on me because I used the F word to describe my COLD sandwich that has happened multiple times. I do not recommend this place in fact I wish I oculd give time 0 stars because of how bad they are compared to the last owner. I often come to Brooksville for work and always cross town for lunch. Today I searched nearby sandwich shops and found Deli World. Funny, in all my years of coming to Brooksville, I'd never seen this place. When I drove up my first thought was to keep driving, but because of the great reviews I stopped. I'm really glad I did. They are getting skimpy on the tzasiki with the gyros. Very little on the sandwich and asking for extra yielded 1/3 of a tiny cup, they don't even fill the cup. Felt cheap. Gyros used to be great, not sure what happened. read more

What a great place. Our first time here and the owner was just so friendly and nice. We wanted the same Philly sandwich, but one of us wanted less veg on it. NO PROBLEM! The owner made us a 12" like a 1/2 & 1/2 , saving us $ vs. buying two 6" sandwiches. After the first bite, I told my hubs and the owner that this sandwich was the best I've had in 6 years (moved here from Chicago 6 years ago). The best bread roll, so fresh and soft on the inside while crunchy on the outside PERFECT! The meat, cheese and vegs were so bubbly and well melted together, PLUS it was almost too hot to eat. What a hidden gem. They have great specials and make an awesome $1.25 bacon, egg and cheese on an English muffin. I usually stop on the way to school up the road and eat 1 or 2.
