Cloudy whip cream with condense milk and Kumquat rinds. I think one slice is the serving size. It scales up every byte. High bitter fruits tend to have a scaling effect. Every byte multiplies the bitterness. Not bad in a slice size. I recommend a flush with beer or clear soda. I think next time i am around ill try their pastries. read more

We stopped by for coffee, my siblings and I spending the day out and about. We had coffee, cuban toast and egg sandwich. We thought the prices were very good but could not get them to refill the coffee dispenser while I was there so only 1 cup of coffee. We were one of the few in the restaurant and watched as they talked in the back while waiting for another coffee. We did not wait long for cuban toast and it was fair not toasted really well. I ran into this little bakery after lunch hoping to grab some dessert to take home. I couldn't resist the name (it was my MIL's name). When I walked in the door, the smell hit me through my mask - I cannot describe it other than just imagine the ideal delicious bakery smell. Their sign says they do sandwiches and soups as well, but all I could smell was that pastry smell - sugar, yeast, dough. If you know that smell, you know what I mean. Mmm... No excuses for not taking pictures. (Smacks hand, bad me.) The pastries were HUGE. You are just going to have to take my word on it. Huge donuts and muffins and other delectables. I'm on a huge guava kick right now, so as soon as I saw the guava and cheese turnovers, I ordered 3 to go. Then I saw giant chocolate chip cookies and ordered one of those as well. (LOL) The young lady who waited on me was super sweet. Got to the car with my mom and told her I got us a cookie to split before we drove home. That sweet young lady in the shop stuffed the bag full of napkins. How did she know? Must be experience. LOL That cookie had huge chunks of chocolate and was super soft. SO good. Oh man. Saved the turnovers for dessert. My husband was shocked at the size. (I DIDN'T TAKE PICTURES! OMGOODNESS) These things were amazing. Huge, flaky, FULL of guava goodness, and real cream cheese - but not sweet. So you got these bites of savory cream cheese with sweet guava and flaky pastry and then the glaze? Amazing. Hadn't been in ages and couldn't wait for a breadstick. I ordered some small ones when I usually get the longer ones - it tasted like old grease/very stale - barely ate one - the rest were tossed - they were also placed in the box so when I opened it, they were icing side down and the icing had to scraped off the inside box and put back on the breadstick. Requested and pointed to the cream filled donuts when ordering - when we opened the box later, found they were custard filled and so they were tossed as no one liked or wanted those. So disappointed because we don't get by here much. Instead of watching them put the right donuts in the box, I was trying to deal with the do it yourself coffee section that was irritating to navigate esp. trying to make 2 coffees while balancing a purse and keys etc. The coffee tasted old and burnt. So disappointed because Olga's has always been 5 stars to me. Had we noticed all of this before we were far away, I literally would have come back to get the order corrected. First time diners. Located on the main drag in charming downtown Dade City. Spacious dining area. Chose this location for breakfast. Note that breakfast selections are very limited and ends at 11am. We had a breakfast sandwich with meat on croissant and were satisfied. They have a robust selection of baked goods. We tired the red velvet cookie, glazed donut, cinnamon roll and a roll with raisins. All were tasty. The glazed donut was thicker than expected. Staff was friendly and patient. Best donuts in Dade City! I've been coming to Dade City more frequently for business. On one occasion, my team brought donuts from Orlando for a meeting and someone exclaimed, "OMG are these from Olga's?!" It was not, but I quickly opened my yelp app and bookmarked this location. I've since had two meetings and brought 2 dozen from Olga's every time. The locals love it and those of use coming from Orlando love it too. Their breadstick donuts are pretty popular with the locals with the really tasty cream frosting. But our Orlando folks were hoping that it was cream filled instead and favor the cream and jelly filled, along with the cinnamon sugar twists. Overall, a great local donut shop. Street parking. Very friendly staff. Will try them out for some sandwiches and coffee next time. read more

I made a brief stop early this morning in Dade City and saw Olga's and stopped in. Lots of homemade pastries, donuts. This is a cozy place downtown and on this Friday morning locals kept streaming in. Some like me ordered their breakfast sandwich which is a fried egg, cheese and I chose bacon on a croissant. Delicious. Sandwich, custard stuffed Bavarian cream pastry and coffee was $5 and change. Very affordable. Patrons very friendly as well as Olga's employees. Fast service, everything home made. Talk about sugar high this morning. I first heard about Olga's thanks to Charley Belcher's feature of it on Fox News. The breadstick donuts are pretty popular here. Today, someone brought them into work and I finally tried it. The icing all I can think of, tasted like amaretto, quite different than the usual. It's way sweet like I feel like I can hear and feel the crystal of the all the sugar, but it's good and different. People say they can't eat just one. I think I can though. All that sugar, I think it's hurting my teeth it's that sweet. But it's good and a bit different! U gotta try it! Came across this gem while out for a Small Town Saturday! There really are not enough words to describe this place! The donuts are the perfect sweetness! The cheese grits were just the right creamy texture! Biscuit and sausage gravy, the sausage not spicy at all, which I loved! This was my first time visiting Olga's bakery, and based off of the reviews, I thought that it was going to be a nice spot to grab a quick breakfast. I was sadly disappointed in the Cuban bacon, egg, and cheese. There was no taste, and very dry. I also tried the guava and cream cheese turnover, and the guava seemed like it was some thing that they got out of a can. Olga's Bakery is a small, storefront bakery on the main drag in Dade City. The outside is incredibly normal. If one hit the main strip driving slightly over the speed limit and having no idea what they were looking for, one could easily drive right past. But on our visit a few weeks back we knew what we were looking for. We wanted the place that we had heard so much about from out dessertie friends. The one with the fresh made donuts, cookies as big as your face, cupcakes piled high withe icing and the amazing "breadsticks" (which are not the garlic and cheese sticks I imagined when someone recommended them to me) and the made-to-order sandwiches. When you step inside Olga's the first thing you notice is the cases that are stuffed full (or half to a quarter full depending on what time you arrive). It takes a dedicated man (or woman) to stroll past those cases with nary a glance and head to the counter to order a sandwich. The four of us did just that. We each got a different sandwich. Mine was a veggie, no cheese with lots of mustard. The others at our table were an egg salad, Cuban and some other meat filled one. Olga's offers you the choice of Cuban bread or a roll. I went with the Cuban bread. The sandwich did not disappoint. First and foremost that bread was some of the softest I've had. It just seemed to pillow itself right down my throat. The veggies Olga's throw on were pretty standard: black olives, lettuce, pickles, tomato, green pepper and red onion. Oh yeah, green olives too. Say what? Yep, green olives. The inclusion of those little circles of salty delight are what made this sandwich. Anyone can take normal sandwich veggies, put them on soft Cuban bread, cover it in mustard and call it a day. Not everyone can do that with a kiss of green olive envy. Olga's did. My counterparts enjoyed their sandwiches too (although the one who ordered the Cuban got the smaller sized one and complained it wasn't enough...go figure). As we were about to leave, sans any baked goods, I mentioned to my co-workers about the breadsticks. They couldn't believe they almost forgot. Olga's offers a special if you buy a dozen so one of my co-workers figured why buy four when you can buy twelve. Olga's "breadsticks" are like long iced donuts. My co-workers loved every bite of them. I'm not in Dade City much but I will have to return at some point to introduce J-Fur to Olga's breadsticks and eat another green olive covered veggie sub. read more

WOWZA!!!! My boss brought these in for the office this morning and wowza they are yummy! I have not been to Olga's myself but have had the pleasure of trying their "bread stick" donut! The frosting is amazing and the donut itself, while it does not the conventional donut shape but does have the taste of a classic old world donut! I love it! If I am ever in Dade City I will make sure to stop in here and grab some donuts. I think it is awesome that they have named this donut a bread stick, I myself was confused at first, as I though this would be a bread stick with frosting but it is so much more!
