Even though prices have risen since last year, we decided to get the cold cuts to make sandwiches for a picnic lunch. The store has a fresh produce section, deli section for sliced meats and cheese, and a wonderful meat/chicken/pork section. It reminds me of a local store when I was a child in the inner city. The fresh baked goods they carry are good - but I wish they still carried the items brought in by The Village Bakers in Jacksonville, a renowned bakery in northeast Florida. We alway get fresh rolls from them to make our sandwiches. The crumb cake slices are amazingly delicious - just like back in NJ where I grew up. The quality of the meats they carry is top shelf - we have never gotten anything that wasn't terrific. Hubby prefers Boar's Head brand, and they are cheaper than the grocery store that carries it nearby. I will always recommend them and return for my grocery shopping. I have been here twice and have found that the employees are friendly and helpful. Awesome little shop! Great resource for the neighborhood. If I'm in the area, I'll probably stop again, but it's certainly not worth a 30 min "destination" trip. The meat looked great, but prices seemed a bit high. If you're a Walnut Fames fan, or custom labeled mass produced sauces, you'll be happy. They also carry a bunch of real italian products, fresh produce, and some condiment/sauces I've not seen before. I can't wait to go back! I am enclosing photos of their seafood because I didn't see any already on their page. Doing a quick comparison between cod price here vs Publix, I already noticed getting more bang for my buck. The meat counter people were super helpful. Everything looked so fresh and appetizing. They have a whole isle where you can portion out as much or little of the product (grains, lentils, candies, etc.) or fresh nut butters and honey. They have breads and baked goods that are sooooo delicious. I've had great experiences with the meat department, especially for the holidays when I need to find something I can't get at a standard grocery store. The service is always friendly and helpful, making it a pleasant place to shop. I would definitely recommend Murphy's to anyone, especially if you've never tried it. I simply LOVE Murphys market. They have the feel of a small Italian deli but the meat selection of a large butcher. Their freezer plans are MY favorite thing about them. I get protein for a month at one shot with these plans while saving lots of money too. The fact that I can sub out an item or two for something I prefer more is fantastic. Thank you, Murphy's, for being the only market in a 3-county area to carry canned wheat! So, every year, my Italian friend Maggie makes an Easter pie. She moved to DC a few years ago and has had a hard time locating canned wheat for this traditional delicacy. I was going to DC the week before Easter and she asked me to pick up two cans. She used to live in St. Pete and knows Mazzaro's carries it, so I went there to pick some up. However, they hadn't received their shipment yet. So then I called Cacciatore & Sons, and they had some, but it had been pre-sold! They suggested we contact Murphy's in Spring Hill. Luckily, I had a meeting in Brooksville, so I swung by and lo and behold, a half shelf full of canned wheat!! I bought 4, just to be on the safe side! Oh, and the market was very nice.
