This is a real working ranch and farm. They have a large strawberry orchid to pick your own. Other times of the year there are blueberry and blackberries to pick. They also sell local produce and sides of beef. The staff gives you buckets to fill with strawberries There are three different types of strawberries spread out in different sections. Some are sweeter than others. There were no signs posted to differentiate them. . We picked all types. After you are finished they will bag and weigh your strawberries, and you will pay by weight. Picking strawberries is a good deal of work, walking on uneven ground and constantly bending to pick. The season runs from December to March, so the temperature is nice. The best way to store the strawberries is in the refrigerator, unwashed, and covered. The ones we picked have so far lasted one week and still taste fresh. read more

The local farm near me for strawberry picking seems to never be open when both my hubby and I are off work. JG Ranch is about an hour and a half away from me, and was the only place open when we had the time, and it was definitely worth the drive. The ranch was pretty easy to find, just a drive down a dirt road following signs to the farm. You pass some chickens on the drive up that you can park and feed for no charge. There's a mailbox that was full of bread upon our arrival, and we also brought our own bread scraps as the website said we could. Pulling up to the farm, you see lots of rows of beautiful bushes as well as a bunch of big ol cows and some babies. :) You can feed the cows for free from a bin of leaves or have a little lunch at one of the tables by the cows. The farm itself is lovely. They're currently in their strawberry season, where you can hand pick strawberries into a bucket, and you're charged by pound. $3.75/lb. Not bad! Behind the entrance they had other veggies available for picking such as kale, rainbow chard, cabbage, lettuce, etc. When we came, a very friendly woman showed us the four different strawberries they had available: wild strawberries, strawberries for chocolate dipping, big giant strawberries good for making juices or drinks, and super juicy strawberries that are supposed to spoil faster. She was super helpful and showed us how the farm was also labeled with markers so we would always know which strawberries are in front of us. One of the farmers was in the back tending to the strawberries and showed us an easy way to pick them off the stem, and he also gave me a big beautiful strawberry that he picked for himself. Paying was easy as they took card with no fee. The payment area was inside a shop with other fresh produce and some baked goods. I know here you can also inquire about fresh meats. Great place and friendly people! It is set way back off road but great (and cute) signs to get you there. Lots of space so your not all on top of each other! Several different areas. Strawberries were about done but plenty of blueberries! They have good selection of other veggies too. Just not as abundant but enough to find stuff for a salad. Just be prepared with shoes for mud. :) They aren't going to save you money compared to grocery store but a fun way to get kids involved with what they eat and off their devices for a few hours. They were actually excited to go home and make a salad (and me scones)! read more

Facebook says they have lots of strawberries. Arrived there on Saturday November 30 after driving down their dusty pot hole driveway and was told they didn't have any strawberries. The fields are barren, so no strawberries in the foreseeable future. Wish they would posted this before driving out there. Just a heads up. read more

We picked strawberries earlier in March, and were excited to come back for blackberries and blueberries picking. Blackberries were on thornless bushes and were at the beginning of the season for the harvest. However, the blueberry crop left much to be desired - but that's how some plants grow unfortunately. A blight hit most of their plants that killed off the blooms and blueberries. Our visit mid-April yielded very few blackberries and no blueberries worth purchasing, unfortunately. read more

Came here for u-pick strawberries at the end of February. It was easy -- $3 per pound and they provide the bucket. The fields were dry and easy to walk. You do have to bend over a lot, but that is part of the process... I would say the fields were a bit picked over on this particular day, but we had no problem picking 5 pounds of berries in about 45 minutes or so with three of us working (not too hard). The staff is very friendly and helpful! My daughter's favorite part was feeding the nearby cows. There was a bin of kale to feed the cows and they love it! We will definitely come back. read more

Came here over the weekend with my kids to pick some strawberries because the weather was absolutely gorgeous. They had 3 varieties to pick from: wild strawberries, a citrus variety and the big juicy ones that you can dip in chocolate. There was a great selection to pick from and because we were in no rush we were able to enjoy the farm. You could feed the cows, enjoy the tire swing (there were two) and shop for local honey and veggies. What a great place! Went here this morning for the first time to pick strawberries with our kids. I didn't get her name but the sweet lady with red hair greeted us and was so personable and friendly and took the time to tell us about everything. She made the experience even better! We came here to go strawberry picking in mid-February. The strawberries didn't have a lot of flavor and there were more rotting than ready to pick, but it was a really fun experience anyway, they have cows and other veggies to pick. I'd come back for the fun, and everyone was wearing masks so that was nice for COVID days. read more

I love this place. Everything is so fresh. Picking fruits and vegetables is fun but you can call in advance and they will make sure they have pre picked items. They are very knowledgeable about what they are growing. The only reason I did t give the 5 stars is because there is always room for improvement although I can't think of anything for them to add or change. I can't wait till blackberry season. Just picked up strawberries and they are yummy and sweet and big. Definitely worth the drive. read more

My boyfriend and I had a blast picking strawberries. $3.50 for a pound was a great deal, the beauty strawberry is our favorite! We loved the fact we could try each flavor strawberry to find the exact one we liked. They also had heads of lettuce, Swiss chard, kale, cabbage, savoy, eggplant, jalapeños, and peppers you can pick. We walked away with two pounds of DELICIOUS strawberries, a large savoy, and cabbage. Such family friend ranch with a great variety of quality grown produce!
