Thank you, Murphy's, for being the only market in a 3-county area to carry canned wheat! So, every year, my Italian friend Maggie makes an Easter pie. She moved to DC a few years ago and has had a hard time locating canned wheat for this traditional delicacy. I was going to DC the week before Easter and she asked me to pick up two cans. She used to live in St. Pete and knows Mazzaro's carries it, so I went there to pick some up. However, they hadn't received their shipment yet. So then I called Cacciatore & Sons, and they had some, but it had been pre-sold! They suggested we contact Murphy's in Spring Hill. Luckily, I had a meeting in Brooksville, so I swung by and lo and behold, a half shelf full of canned wheat!! I bought 4, just to be on the safe side! Oh, and the market was very nice. I bought some Italian cookies and got me a sandwich from the deli, since I was there. The folks there were all very nice! You saved Easter, Murphy's!! Thank You!!! read more

Tuesday, November 8th I visited this business because we passed it going to a doctor. To me it was like a candy store with hundreds of products that I was throwing in my cart. I purchased exotic vegetables, bottled products, odd pasta, a beautiful , thick chuck roast, even some packaged sugar cane. Then before leaving I stood with another lady customer way off to the left end of their very long meat counter in front of the pork chops. Obviously we weren't together. I stood there ten minutes waiting for her purchase. After she received her package he looked at me and walked away, as I called him. I paid my $60 dollars in purchases and left with a very bitter taste in my mouth. read more

This is a nice mom and pop market that has some of the best fresh produce and a nice meat and deli counter. They often have difficult to find items, such as sodas like Frostie Root Beer. I spent summers in Ohio and Michigan and loved Frostie. Often pretty busy. read more

Good quality and reasonable prices! The deli serves Boars Head foods which are delicious, but I typically go to Murphy's for the all natural products, the produce and the items in bulk to reduce use of plastics. I also typically do their meat packages and I'm able to substitute to fit our needs and preferences. I've never been disappointed. And for those who use Food Stamps - I saw they accept them. I am really sorry to give such a bad review. I love their food, the meat is good and priced right however I went there today and was horrified at the lack of precautions. Only a few people had on masks, everyone was crowded in and definitely not 6 ft apart, people couldn't help but to touch each other. No one appeared to be sanitizing anything and no one seemed to care. Ihad just shopped at Cosco and was so impressed with how they were treating this virus that it made it even more disappointing to shop here with no one caring. Surely being a Christian store they don't believe that that is enough to keep everyone safe. I will not shop here again until the world is free of this virus and that saddens me. read more

The diamond in the rough. What a great little place. Since a Trader Joes isn't close by, this lettle gem gets the job done. Great deli with Boars Head quality meats. The freshly baked bread is amazing. We cleared them out (5 loafs) last time. And personslly, seeing produce still with the soil on it, you can't get anything better or fresher. Fair prices. I wish they sold some wine but I know having a liquor license can be a pain. Some amazing and surprising products like rose infused water?! I love it. Been coming here for years only to find they were closed a couple of weeks ago. Went today, they are open again BUT the grated cheese is now 9.99 a pound - that's a 2.- increase, ridiculous nothing gets that much more expensive that fast. They can keep it, will not be coming here as often as I used to, that's for sure. 'Very limited fruit choices and veggies were more expensive than the supermarket. The bread was limited, not fresh at all, ended up with a loaf of sliced instead of a nice crunchy Italian bread - not worth the effort, Publix has much better. Already swore off their frozen seafood since the oysters were so bad our dog wouldn't eat them. Frozen ravioli is ridiculously expensive, much better prices in supermarkets. All in all, they have priced themselves out of competition. Was a Sat. and no crowd -- tells you something. No idea what made them think they could raise prices so drastically, but I don't think it will go well. read more
