Not sure why so many negative reviews. We dropped in on a whim for breakfast. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. The rooster theme was whimsical and we had no regrets about breakfast. The service was a bit weak as we had to ask for coffee refills. However, I would certainly eat here again. read more

Went there for the first time Friday morning for breakfast, it was wonderful. Good food, good service. Went back Friday night for the fish fry and was NOT disappointed. Now it's not fancy but it's good. Friday is the only night they are open, but the lunch menu has quite a variety. I'm sure you can find something to fill your belly. read more

Went there today first time wow I'm impressed with breakfast it was very good . The service was great the server was very friendly and picked out my meal. I had 2 pancakes 2 eggs 2 beacon so good. The price you can't beat I've been to places where this meal starts at $10. But for $8.99 you can't beat it. I will return with some friends you can count on it. At 8 AM on Sunday morning, this place was crowded and I can see why. It's cute. It's clean. Staff is friendly. Food is good. Prices are reasonable. And there's coffee. Rooster's is now my breakfast spot! The cheese omelette was gooey with cheese and that's what I like. The home fries looked kinda black, but turned out to be yummy. I ate them all. And raisin toast with real butter. I took half my omelette home. It's the neighborhood feeling and decor that I like most here. Brooksville is my new home and these are my new neighbors. Btw, not a single person in here was under 75 years old (except me). Maybe the younger crowd sleeps in until 10 AM? read more

Breakfast was typical. My complaint is I ordered iced tea. I only drank 1/2 (did not ask for a refill). I asked for a to go cup to take the other 1/2 of my tea with me. I was told the cup would be an extra $1.00!!!!! I spoke with the manager and was really not given any logical reason for this charge. If I was taking food home that container would not cost me anything!!!! Not going back. read more

This place is sooo good! Cute little mom and pop diner in the downtown Brooksville area. The food is absolutely delicious. It's your normal diner style food but the prices are cheap, food portions are big, and food is delicious. If you go early on the weekends, expect to wait. They are pretty good about getting you in fast but just expect to wait if going on the weekend. Service was great, everyone is super friendly and the diner just gives you this warm, homey, small town feel. Definitely a must visit if in the area. read more

This is not the combination I had expected at all. It's a very country feel with a lot of roosters (hence the name) throughout but owned by an extremely nice Asian couple. We have only been there for breakfast but I am intrigued by their lunch menu and I look at it every time we go in. Breakfast is typical with the menu made up of omelettes,fresh eggs, combination plates, bacon sausage etc. my husband had the sausage omelette which came with hashbrowns and toast and a plate was very full. I had the bacon egg and cheese muffin and it was huge. The muffin was not at all similar to what you would get at McDonald's. It was a lot of food and it was fresh and hot with the bacon overtaking the sides of the muffin. It is your typical breakfast place and the only reason why I don't give it five stars is because the service is a little rough around the edges. I also find that compared to our usual place that we go to our neighborhood, that it is a tad bit more expensive. For example, my muffin cost seven dollars and had no sides. If you're in Brooksville, stop in and have lunch and definitely let me know how you find it. I am willing to go back to try something different. Do I recommend it? Absolutely! It was just OK. As far as diners go, the food was standard fare, wholly unremarkable.Had breakfast with my mom on a Saturday morning while at a festival in downtown Brooksville. I ordered an omelette, home fries and toast; mom had a pancake, scrambled eggs and bacon. The food came out quickly and was fine. I was annoyed by the upcharge to sub the mushrooms that come in the veggie omelette with spinach (I hate mushrooms). Also an upcharge for Swiss cheese, which is one of the cheese options they offer with their omelettes. And yet another upcharge to pay by credit card...very annoying for a casual breakfast place. Service also felt rushed--the place was busy as, like I stated, it was Saturday morning--but not overly so that they needed to practically kick us out. It felt like they just wanted to push as many people through with little concern for anything other than making as much money as possible. Our bill came with the food; we were never offered a refill on drinks or asked if we wanted anything else; and I had to beg for a to-go cup for my mom's orange juice (which shockingly they didn't upcharge for). There are dozens of breakfast diners in this area turning out similar food, so I don't feel the need to return to this money hungry, basic place. read more

After living in Brooksville for so many years I can't believe I have just discovered this place! I am really happy I gave this place a try. This place is a great fix for people looking for a decent brunch place without having to go to a regular corporate chain restaurant along 50. When you first enter the restaurant, it is very apparent that they are keen to sticking to the "rooster" theme of the restaurant as there are roosters everywhere. Literally everywhere. The staff was very friendly and although it was busy, the waitress was very quick and attentive. I ordered the contry fried steak and it was delicious! It was topped with white gravy and came with a side of grilled home fries and scrambled eggs. The portion size was pretty big, so I ended up taking leftovers home with me. I love that this is a family owned business and I feel like it is a great restaurant to the Hernando county area. read more

Only two things about this place I liked - it's cheap and the unsweetened ice tea was very good - strong and obviously brewed. My son has eaten breakfast here a few times, loved the waffle breakfast, and told me about the Friday night fish fry. We used to go to one in Inverness that was great (closed now), so was looking forward to it. Well, it was just awful. The fish is some sort of frozen square, no taste, no seasoning - might as well eat cardboard. The fries were bland, no seasoning, as was the cole slaw. They brought vinegar, tartar sauce, and there was ketchup, salt and pepper on the table ---- all that couldn't mask the awful fish and tasteless everything. Their cook must be terrified of seasoning, he/she clearly stays away from all of it. My son said "Mom look around" - I did, seems the nursing homes, assisted livings, and senior enclaves had all emptied out and come here. Not to insult seniors, but this mob had left their taste buds behind some years ago. Forget it, it's no bargain if it's inedible. Still looking for decent fish fry. read more

Not our first choice for breakfast that particular morning, our first stop had a 25-minute wait (and who can stand that in the morning when your hungry, right?) So off we went to this place after a quick Yelp search, and boy, were we glad... From the outside, Rooster's is frankly not much to look at. Even on the inside, though spacious and inviting (with ceramic Roosters hanging on the wall) it is pretty much nondescript as well. But aside from that, the place lived up to its hype. Service was super friendly, super chatty, and very patient with us as she helped us navigate the menu. Breakfast is served all day long so if you get a hankering for eggs and sausage at night, this is the place to go. For the actual breakfast, my wife had their croissant sandwich, piled high with ham, while I had their version of a McMuffin (without bacon.) Both were served hot and fresh. We also ordered a cherry topped Belgian waffle that was spectacular. Though the waffle came out a bit more crispier than I like, it was still good and I had to fight the urge of licking my plate.
