Angel's Diner, Florida's oldest diner. Palatka Florida

Good food. Tasty Burgers are huge. Try a Pussalo to drink. Hostoric dining car atmosphere or car service.

Angel's in Palatka! Best Burgers in Town!

Had to try this place - billed as the oldest diner in Florida (in operation since 1932). It has a true retro vibe - cool dining car, records on the walls, lots of pink. (Restrooms are outside - very clean, very small but cute! Service was great - one waitress was managing all the diners and the takeout orders and did a fabulous job! I ordered the cheeseburger platter (platters come with fries and 2 onion rings). Cheeseburger was good but not real hot, but the bun was cold (my personal preference is a toasted bun). The fries were amazing! A lot of people like their onion rings but I did not care for them - they had an overwhelming flour taste to me. Hubs had the patty melt and enjoyed it. Overall a fun experience.

Make the trip to Angel's. A downtown Palatka staple they are not to be missed. Hand spun milkshakes as well as delicious burgers and fries, you can't go wrong. The space is small but there is outdoor dining as well as dining from your car if you so choose. The staff are very friendly and accommodating even with a couple small children in our party. All in all, if you're in the area, stop by and give them a try.

This place was extremely cute. One of those cool old places that didn't disappoint at all. Eye catching stuff everywhere. The place seems very clean as well. My food partner had a great experience, loved the food and the service. For me - I was very excited to see the delicious looking burger (1/2 pounder). Wow! But, here was the thing: I can't do onions and specifically stated no onions, and the server affirmed the order. The sad occurrence was the burger was loaded with extra juicy onions. I called the server back, she was apologetic and took the order back. As she entered the kitchen, I saw her grab gloves and it was at the time, I knew that she was going to mess up (pick the onions off and return it to me). She brought it back - same burger, soaked bun in onion juice (along with all the other delicious stuff) and told me "here ya go". I told her to just take it back and remove it from the check. After a few minutes and after the other diner was done with their meal, the server came back and asked if I wanted a new on cooked without onions (which should have been done in the first place). I opted out. It looked sooooo good, needless to say - I was 100% disappointed at the delivery of the missed cook burger, but more so (if possible) at "picking off" the onions and trying to reserve it. Shame on them. I would definitely go back, because I wanted to experience a great burger (just without onions).

It was quaint, the wait staff was attentive and lovely. The food was everything I expected it to be. We both had the black bottom burger with fries, and we shared an order of fried green tomatoes.

You definitely get this spot - don't believe Elvis has ever been here - but they have a Elvis put outside

Yummy! The best old school lunch I've had. I can't wait to go back. The French fries weren't as good as the onion ring. Trust me!

You Have To Try The Milkshakes!

Found this gem on "Vanishing America-Florida" Very nostalgic! Simple menu & delicious cheeseburgers, the strawberry shake was AH-mazing!!! Great throwback from 1932. If you can manage your expectations and live in the moment, this is 5 stars all. The way

We know diners.. NJ.. NY. We had to try Florida's oldest diner and we were pleasantly surprised. We sat at the counter, our server, Cheyanne, was very friendly and polite. The burgers were good The nostalgia was perfect! Great ambiance.

If you're looking to step back in time and have been wanting to dive in to some nostalgic feels, then Angels is for you. You'll be welcomed with large patio seating and a tiny counter inside what appears to be an old airstream-esque building. Angels has been slinging classics since 1932. It is Florida oldest diner. The food however, is merely average. While the burgers were properly cooked to temp, they lack seasoning. The slaw dog is your typical jumbo dog covered with store bought slaw. The onion rings had potential to be great, but just lacked seasoning and texture. The milkshakes were proper though. If you're in the area and feeling nostalgic, grab a burger. If you're going out the way for this, skip it.

If you want to be taken back in history and get a true diner feel, this is the place. Had the long diner counter with 45 records in the walls. Only thing missing was the large Juke box. The inside is very small so don't go with a large group of people. The seating at the counter is not made for larger folk and is pretty uncomfortable. The tables barely seat 4. Service was quick and all the food was like real!! The hamburger steak and the patty melts were like something I would have made at home...definitely looked hand and homemade. Nothing was overly salty and everyone enjoyed their selections. It would have been nicer to have an option of mashed potatoes with the hamburger steak but the fries were excellent crisp thin fries with little salt. The sodas were da bomb!! Loved them and we each got two...so we could try multiple flavors. They are a little pricey but were worth the splurge. There are many flavors to choose from and you can even make your own combination. Had fun experiencing real diner feel and, when in town again, will definitely stop by for another patty melt and soda.

I visited Angels for the first time for lunch. It's an old school diner. The ambiance was really neat. It was clean and well decorated. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the fried.chicken lunch special. It was very good. The chicken was tender and moist. I chose coleslaw rather than French fries. I was not disappointed. The price was 8.99 for the chicken dinner. The total cost with ice tea was $14 with tip. I plan on going back. I recommend it.

They asked me if I would like to be seated or if I wanted to go order. I've said this many times I absolutely love French toast, and I always judge it based upon whether or not it needs syrup. I ordered the French toast with one egg and the smoked sausage. The egg was your standard egg nothing special. The smoked sausage link was a sausage that I have never tasted it before, but it was good very flavorful and was not fatty at all. And now the king of the show or queen depending on who you're talking to... the French toast. I will say that the French toast was good however to me it tasted more like when you get a slice of bread at home, put butter on it with cinnamon and sugar and you put it in the oven on broil and let it toast a bit. It WAS delicious. The bread was delicious, but it did not taste like your typical French toast to me however, I would go back and order it again. They also had some really huge cinnamon rolls in there. I did not get one of those, but they were quite literally about the size of a person's plate. All in all I definitely would visit the diner again I could go without the egg, but the French toast and sausage definitely would have.
