We eat out at least twice a week. They had the best chicken fingers of sny restaurants. We just went and grabbed lunch and now it's an oversized McD nugget. Hard, no flavor. Awful!! If we were 5 we'd do it. Please change it back. Next time it's pizza for lunch. read more

Great little country restaurant out in the country , I started with Norma D's southern comfort plater , loved the country fried chicken steak with biscuits and gravy , the best I've had truly delicious the gravy was thick and delicious real homemade even the home fries were so fresh tasting , the biscuits were outstanding. My friend had the uncle Paul's country breakfast he loved it specially the thick bacon love the home fries, and my other friend enjoyed his fish and chips , the pancakes looked great . If it's on the menu, I judge a diner like this on their biscuits and sausage gravy and these folks got it right! Had lunch with friends on Tuesday. Shepards pie was delish. Chicken tenders very good and meatloaf was scrumptious. Homemade mashed potatoes and gravy. Cucumber and red onion salad, just the way I like. Service - great and friendly. Music was great and not too loud. Staff was accommodating and seemed to work well together. It used to be called Johnny's and it was wonderful. Under new management it is still outstanding. With soul food and dishes you remember from childhood you can't go wrong here. I stopped in for lunch and selected the special. Smothered pork chops with two sides. The rice n gravy and black eyed beans were fantastic. Everything is hand made and the selection is limited to five or six main dishes and lots of side to choose from. Fried chicken, meatloaf, chuck steak and other specials are offered as well as breakfast all day on Saturday. The locals take up many of the sparkling wooden tables and that is always a great sign. We were bicycling on the Palatka-St Augustine Trail & stopped to eat here. It's where all the locals are eating. Only open until "2:30ish" so mainly a breakfast/lunch spot. Well worth the stop! read more

So I have been trying to work at this place for many many months even when the old Manager was there I worked for Mike at main Pizza across the street. He sent me over there. She told me she was hiring then told me she didn't need any help and tried to send me to another store that was an hour and a half away from my house. I couldn't take that shift because the drive wasn't worth it for two or three days a week. It wasn't even three days it was due the weekends so I called back the other day. She answered the manager and I said are y'all hiring she said yes she said I'm only hiring for three days. I said well remember me explain myself. She's already done an interview with me. She had me take a picture of my the menu And she said yes I remember you. I said I have open availability. Three days are perfect. Great transportation I still have a picture of the menu and she said yeah I'll have you in Monday morning so I call her back. She tells me she has two or three interviews then I said OK I'll call you back Monday if I don't hear from you she said that's OK. Call her back and she says oh I'm calling people back after work for interviews. I never heard from her. I feel like this Manager does not know when she sees a good employee coming and she's all over the place, I would not recommend working for her And I have plenty of experience great transportation and open availability. I told her three days would be perfect just to get my foot in the door. read more

Needed a quick bite to eat while doing some business in Hastings and this place was recommended to us. The food was delicious, the waitress was very friendly, and the decor is super cute! I got a salad, which was HUGE and so good! My husband got a burger and was pretty impressed as well. If we are ever back in the area this will for sure be our go to spot! read more

I was in Hastings for the day on a work assignment and everyone said to go to Norma's for lunch, and they also said to go early if you want a table. We got there at 11:45 and got one of the last open tables, so our timing was perfect. The vegetarian report: Some places you go into and you know it's going to be a meal of sides. They had meal-sized salads, and there were a few dishes where I'm sure they would have easily left the meat out if I asked, but I was in the mood for classic diner sides and I was not disappointed. I tried the fried Mac & cheese (amazing), fries (excellent), and the carrot raisin salad which was perfect. The carrot salad instantly brought me back to Sunday lunches after church with my great-grandparents, and I had forgotten how much I liked it. I also got a giant slice of carrot cake to go, and it was amazing. Food was excellent, our waitress was very fast, and the food was great. Couldn't ask for anything better! read more

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and we are certainly looking forward to a return. They offer a full menu and have specials each day. We stopped in on Thursday and on that day their special was fried chicken and it was delicious! I believe it was around $9.00 and that included a 1/2 a chicken and 2 sides. I had the creamy coleslaw & some outstanding sweet potato fries. They actually had 16 sides to pick from. They do a tremendous business and place is bigger inside than it looks.
