Every time I am in Palatka I stop by the Cheyenne Saloon. It feels familiar and welcoming. Throughout the years I have noticed that they have really cleaned things up to make it more inviting and less "divey". There's a jukebox, a pool league on Monday & Tuesday nights, with pool tables for regular patrons as well. I visited this place on January 27 2024... It's a neat biker style bar but is also family friendly as well... I have to say though my experience here wasn't good. The service was terrible. It almost seemed like they couldn't handle the crowd but it wasn't even extremely busy. Also I had shrimp that I'm thinking were overcooked or something...and the wings were average at best.. The only reason I am giving this two stars is the second waitress Robbi had really tried to correct everything the first one messed up. The first waitress who we will name (Morgan) Only cared about one table who we found out to be her friends while Robbi waited on seven tables. Yes we took the time and counted. This is a cool little local place. Nothing really all that special, typical kind a divey bar. What makes it really special and an amazing place to stop at, is that it's been in the area and one of the oldest bars in the county since the 1940s. They've taken a picture almost every 20 years to show the changes that have happened and murals. The only Miral I didn't capture I didn't see was the one from the 1920s, which is still yet to come. It's a cool place, pretty quiet, I love, absolutely love, what are the doorways into one of the add-ons that I've done over the years, it is a jail door. I don't need a façade. I mean a real jail door super heavy metal. If you hear that clanking clunk to the end it is super heavy metal jail door probably restored from another frisbee location but it's a cool place. We love dive bars and Cheyenne is one of our favorites. The bartenders are friendly, they have a full bar, and beers are cold. The variety of patrons is what we enjoy, from business people to bikers, all are having a great time and are friendly. I especially love that there is no inside smoking allowed. Apparently they have a great breakfast too. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the area! So if you've ever been to Bike Week and have stayed in the area around Daytona Beach then you are probably familiar with the mega-outdoor bars like Iron Horse and Broken Spoke and places like that. This is the same thing only about 50 miles northwest of Daytona beach in Palatka. I've you've never been, then what you can expect to find is a normal brick and mortar dive bar/restaurant with a large, rustic, outdoor area with a separate bar in back to accommodate all the bikers. There's also live entertainment and all that sort of stuff back there. We've only ever been here during Bike Week a few times so I don't know what this place is like the rest of the year. Judging from the inside I imagine it's a fairly popular spot and looks like the type of place that gets a lot of locals once Bike Week is over. I'm only giving it 3 stars because it's a typical place not unlike all the other similar places. Don't take this as a criticism though, it's not meant to be. Actually, if you happen to be in Daytona Beach for Bike week and you're tired of going to all the same local places over and over again, the ride up to Palatka is very nice and you can take a number of different scenic routes to get there. If that's your plan, then I would say this destination is worth the trip and in that regard is a solid 4 star. I'm not sure what their food is like because we haven't eaten there. The bottom line: This biker oriented and biker friendly bar is a good place to visit, especially if you make it a destination or stopping point as part of a longer ride from somewhere else. It isn't all that different than some of the other places (in atmosphere if not size) closer to Daytona Beach but it's worth the trip. read more

The waiter was nice. It wasn't his fault... The place was way understaffed (I'm going with that because the alternative is that they just dgaf). We waited 20 minutes for someone to hand us some menus. The water tasted REALLY weird like there was leftover alcohol or grenadine in the glass. Then we waited 45 minutes for our food, which required almost no cooking - 2 chicken salad sandwiches and a cup of chili. My dad wanted fries with his sandwich and was informed that they only do chips. After waiting so long, not even having been addressed as to why our food was taking so long g, we felt forgotten. For 45 minutes, I expected some bomb ass chips but they were the tiny 80-calorie bags of Lay's that you usually would only give to a small child. I have to say though, this place is a dump. Not what we were looking for. Chicken salad sandwich=unseasoned chicken mush with mayonnaise. Chili= can of stewed tomatoes and a pile of beans Bland food, grubby looking place, smoky, and you don't even have music playing unless someone inserts money. The bathrooms didn't even actually have locks on the stalls. The best I can really say is the bathrooms were clean. As much as I hate Golden Corral, it would have been a much better choice. Great inside, loud like a bar should be, beer was cold, staff wasn't! They have food at 10pm on a Thursday when I didn't want fast and had never been in the area before. Philly steak was great! My fiancé and I visited this place for the first time on thanksgiving. The staff was awesome and the beer was cold. Our bartender was Coen. She was absolutely awesome. We returned there the next night because we had an amazing time. Our bartender the second time was Hannah. Although she was new, she was still great. We also ordered food this time. My fiancé had the cheeseburger and I had the grilled cheese. (Not a vegetarian or anything. Just love grilled cheese. Lol). The only complaints we had was that we requested no tomatoes on her burger, but it still came with tomato. Meh, just pick it off. My only complaint on my grilled cheese was that they made mine first, then her burger, but they came out at the same time, so my sandwich was barely lukewarm. Oh well. Still love this place and will return again on my next payday. :-) read more

Stopped by here for lunch. I am sure this place is wild at night. Multiple open bars and I guess different areas to pull up your bike and hangout. But for lunch, it was dang good. I met very friendly people, and affordable 2 dollar on tap bud. charged my phone and was invited home for on the spot hospitaliy by a lovely couple. I was dver so grateful. they saved me from staying in a sketchy little campground down the way. I hope to be able to party here again. read more
