Pork lumpia rolls
Denise A.

Still the same great food a service! This cute little restaurant is still a great place for breakfast and lunch! Its casual ambience makes it very comfortable and nice. It's always very clean and the nice. The food is always spot on from breakfast to lunch. A the service is is always great. Everyone is is always so nice and you never lack for anything. I love how the owner walks around to make sure everyone is doing good and thanks them for coming. We come here often and it has become a staple in our breakfast needs.

Tried this new place for breakfast when I was in town. My eggs, grits and bacon were all cooked very well. Service was quick and staff was friendly and attentive. Interior is attractive and very clean. I would definitely return.

What a wonderful little Filipino restaurant! The dishes are served cafeteria style where you choose…read morea side (rice vs pancit) and 1 or 2 main dishes. I usually shy away from this especially since Covid due to sanitary concerns, but all my worries went out the door when I put the food in my mouth!!! Pancit - 8/10 - great flavors, the noodles were a little dry but that may be because it was sitting out too long. Shrimp obud - 10/10- absolutely delicious! it had bamboo shoots in it and the curry was so flavorful I could drink it. Dinuguan - 7/10- it was tasty but couldn't get over that it was pork blood.... Pork Adobo and Chicken curry-8/10- both had great flavors. Really friendly guy behind the counter that recommended the best dishes.

One of our favorite places for Filipino food! We occasionally come here when my husband misses his…read moregrandma's home cooking and this cafe never disappoints! The cafe is more on the smaller side but it's cozy and the customer service is always happy and friendly! When you walk inside, there's a hot bar with all the food items available that day. You can check their Facebook page for their menu each day! You can get combos like an entree and a side, two entrees and a side, etc. On the shelves near the windows, there are local Filipino desserts like crinkles, puto (rice cake), flan, etc for sale. They also sell mac salad in the fridge and some dried fish on the shelves. What I love about this cafe is that they have a small snacks/drinks/candy market next to the dining area. The dining area is a good size and faces the parking lot. On this particular Saturday, we had the following entrees and sides: Lechon (roasted pig), Kaldereta (Filipino beef stew), and some rice! The lechon pieces were big and the skin (my fav!) was crispy, salty, and golden! The meat was also juicy and not dry. What I like to do is dip the meat into some white vinegar to give it some acidity since the lechon is on the heavy side after a few bites. The Kaldereta was hearty, rich, flavorful and it reminded me of an elevated beef stew. The potatoes and carrots literally melted in my mouth! I gave my combo plate a 8.5/10! My husband had Humba (braised pork belly that is slow cooked in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, bay leaves, fermented black beans, and sugar) and he thoroughly enjoyed it. He shared some pieces of it with me and it was smooth as butter. It was sweet and salty and his rice soaked up all the sauces. Definitely a must try! I would give it a 9/10 because the flavors were so rich and it made me want even more! The prices are reasonable for how much food you're getting! They also sell desserts like halo halo (shaved iced with fresh fruits, taro ice cream, toppings like flan, condensed milk, jellies, beans, etc.) I've personally had the halo halo and it's one of my favorites! Super refreshing on a hot summer day. They also sell mango and taro flavored cakes but you have to call in advance for whole cakes. Their cakes are light, delicious, and fluffy! I especially enjoy the mango cake because you get chunks of fresh, champagne mangoes on and inside the cake. We've been coming here for years and don't plan on stopping. My husband is a bit of a Filipino food snob at times, but Lola's definitely has a special place in his heart! They do military discounts too, FYI!

I met up with some friends at the bestBet Food Truck Rally for dinner and snacks. No matter how…read morewell I plan beforehand what trucks I want to eat at the plan always falls through. So I went to plan B: When at a food truck rally, all ways look for the trucks with the longest lines. There were a couple that were long but Manila seemed unusually long. A quick browsing of the menu made me realize why. Lumpia, Pork and Chicken Skewers, Pancit, no wonder. Not only did it sound good it smelled wonderful. We made our way to the back of the line. Wait wasn't painfully long as some folks ahead of us gave up and walked off. Patience is a virtue that will be rewarded. The guy taking orders at one point told us in line that they had to stop taking orders for 10 mins just so they could catch up on the orders already placed. Wow. By the time we got to the stand they had ran out of Adobo (pork stew) and the Lumpia entrees. Luckily we could still have lumpia as a side item which meant we couldn't get 7 but instead 3. Cool. I ordered the Liempo (grilled pork belly) Combo with garlic rice and lumpia. It took less than 5 mins before it got to my hands so they were cranking out some food. OMG everything was delish. The liempo was grilled to perfection. Usually anything grilled needs some kinda sauce over it. This needed none of that. If I could I would just order a platter of liempo and pop them in my mouth like popcorn, very tender and juicy. The lumpia was freshly out the fryer and was hot when bitten into, very good. The garlic was a nice compliment to the liempo. I was expecting it to be real garlicky but it was subtle and pleasant. I definitely enjoyed everything and will be returning to this truck in the future.

Great food! We shall return! Ordered lumpia, pancit and chicken! Yum! Great and fast and friendly…read moreservice also!

Yummy chicken pancit! I'd heard great things about Marivic's food from a neighborhood blog/forum…read more(nextdoor.com) so finally ordered some & we met today for the money/food exchange. Hadn't had pancit in years and my taste buds were thrilled to say the least. It was hot & ready to be eaten straight from the pan. Plenty of little bites of chicken and crisp veggies along with the rice noodles and lots of flavor. I ordered 1/2 pan and it can easily feed 8-10. The picture I've included is after my hubby & I ate 2 huge servings. Doesn't even look like we put a dent in it. ;-) I'm happy to know that when I get a craving I can text Marivic & place an order. And she told me today she's at the Nocatee farmers market when it's open every 3rd Saturday of the month so I can also go there. And something I didn't realize until after I got the pancit was that she uses local ingredients and there's no preservatives. Win-win!
