The chicken has a mellow, but buttery flavor with just a dash of pepper. The gravy marries everything together. I enjoy that it's not a sage or smoky sausage used. The servers are all fantastic. The food is always quick, even when people are packed like sardines into the place. This is a busy breakfast spot for a reason!

My hubby had been working outside all day and asked if we could wait for an inside table. The host personally went and cleared/reset a table for us. My husband tried to tip him and he would not accept it. Our server was Cassandra and she was amazing. After dinner and dessert we asked for some recommendations amd she had some great ones. We had the lamb, a filet and a ny strip. All were cooked perfectly. The standout for me was the fried chicken. You can add a breast or thigh to any meal. I had a thigh and it was one of the best I have had. Crispy, tasty and the chicken itself was tender and juicy. When I come back I am definitely ordering the chicken! If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try. There is free valet parking, which is helpful since there is not a lot of parking. The valet were hustling! Did I mention the heat? Don't forget to tip them. The faster they move the higher the tip in my opinion.

Very southern I actually thought I might be in Georgia. Menu isn't too complicated and we were trying to keep this simple so here's what we ordered: Grilled chicken caprese. Just what it says. Layers of mozzarella and sliced tomatoes with grilled chicken on top drizzled with a balsamic reduction. If you want greens there's two pieces for decoration. I enjoyed this dish. Chicken was moist and had great flavor. I do wish there were a few more pieces on it for the price point. I felt I got about a third of the breast. Ivy Caesar Salad: my husband loves Caesar Salads and he said this was just ok. He didn't like that some of the pieces looked old. This salad was fine and not anything special. Raspberry Tea: very sweet with a weird tang. Didn't really seem like tea at all. Wouldn't get it again. Overall this place has great ambience even if it is rather pretentious and over the top. Staff is friendly and food came out at a reasonable amount of time. Not sure if I'd go there again. Lunch is pricey. Without tip this was a $40 meal and that included only one NA drink.

It was early evening and when I walked in I thought the decor was so adorable. Quaint and just really lovely. I was getting a good feeling and wondering why I never had stopped in here before since I love coming downtown and going to different places down here. The whole vibe to me is just very comfortable even though it can get busy there is something that makes you feel calm in this area. We were seated and I looked at the menu wanting steak and even though it was early they didn't have any ( rib eye ) Yes it was on the menu but that was ok, instead I chose a Wam burger and fries. To be honest I wasn't impressed. I asked for medium rare and my burger came out well done. It was a bit flavorless to me and the fries weren't even hot nor crispy. The service was just ok and when we had gone the restaurant hadn't even been very busy. I may give Ivy on the Square another try if I have a good reason. We will see. I wonder what you think. I received blessings from my ancestors this Black History Month as I finally made time to get to Lucille's and my soul is HAPPY. After seeing my fellow Elites, Kim and Kamia, rave about Lucille's, I knew I had to visit! I absolutely love Gainesville, but it's difficult to find great southern cooking, with no tofu, kale or upgraded extras in tow at times. Not at Lucille's. This is a restaurant serving your favorite comfort food just like your grandma makes! When I entered the unassuming restaurant tucked away in an eerily quiet plaza, I almost thought I was in the wrong place. But nope! There's Lucille's, the true star of the lowkey plaza. Upon entry, you're greeted by walls adorned with images of black heroes in history and glowing pics of their team - I love it! I was immediately taken back by the delicious aromas in the air on my first visit on a Friday when the Pot Roast, Turkey Wings and Fried Wings were on the menu. Everything looked DELICIOUS!! I'm terribly indecisive and went with wings on my first visit. They were out but no worries for me, the cook fried me up an 8-piece fresh!! These wings were SO GOOD! Fresh, crunchy, juicy, omg. On my 2nd visit, I went with the oxtails and wow. Who told my greedy self to go back on a weekday for an incredible portion of Oxtails, to then find the nerve to ask for extra gravy? *Facepalm* I'll no longer be an XS if I keep going here and eating like this, but I'd risk it all! Delicious food, people that make you feel like you're amongst family and supporting a local black owned business, what more could you want? Skip prepping dinner one night this week and let the team at Lucille's take you back home with each bite.

I highly recommend Lucille's. With food like this, I am sure that God is going to bless them to open up their very own restaurant and business is going to explode. I will be visiting again in the future. I have to try the other dishes. Move over Cedar River and Corky Bells!
