Nice little diner that is clean and a friendly staff. I have been wanting to try this one based on the positive reviews. At 1pm I was surprised to see only a couple of tables filled and one other person at the counter plus one guy waiting on an order to go. There was only one staff member handling the entire restaurant and acting as cashier, but she kept smiling, kept my coffee cup full and didn't make me wait too long to pay. The food is typical diner fare with lots of choices. I settled on the meat lovers skillet breakfast. The potatoes were nicely browned and there was plenty of meat and cheese. The eggs were pretty small and more medium than easy so unfortunately the yolks didn't run into the potatoes. All in all it was pretty good and I'd stop again if I was in the area, but for me there are other diners closer to home. read more

When someone tells me to picture a mom n' pop spot, this is it. Look no further than Tin Can Cafe because this place is awesome from start to finish. My best friend and I were seated immediately and greeted by our server, Sarah, who made our brunch feel like eating at a friend's house. She was friendly and helpful in the most genuine way. She had our waters and coffees out in a flash, and I love the big mugs they serve the coffee in. We were given plenty of time to order, and once we did, our food came out quicker than I thought it would. And it looked so good! I had the country fried steak breakfast, and made selections (which were included) of three sunny-side up eggs, home fries, and rye toast. The country fried steak came out absolutely smothered in gravy. Might've been too much gravy for others but that's what your toast is for. The eggs were -perfectly- cooked, and I was amazed with how photogenic they were. (I'm just saying, go look at that picture.) The slices of rye bread were not just one slice cut into two triangles. These were two full-sized slices of rye, toasted and buttered just right. And the home fries? OMG, y'all. They were seasoned thoroughly and made this meal one of the best I've ever had in Hudson. To top it off, Sarah asked if we needed hot sauce, which is always a green flag to me, and they had 3-4 kinds if I remember right. Of course I got that Crystal Hot Sauce and drizzled generously. It was so much food that I couldn't finish it in one go, but it made for some amazing leftovers this morning! 1st time here... Our waitress Tami was amazing with suggestions on their specials that were amazing. She brought everything ahead of our meal.. like extra napkins, hot sauce etc.. Tami and staff always were coming over and asking us if we needed more coffee. The staff were very polite and it was nice to see that everybody was happy enjoying their job. I had their special Greek toast with avocado, they gave so much I had to bring half of it home. Everything looked clean in the seating area. We will return. read more

Jackie's Place is closed!! That said, the new place in the same location, with new owners, menu, and staff (Tin Can Cafe of Hudson) is awesome!!! They also own Tin Can Cafe in Clearwater. Still head to Jackie's location, but prepare to be pleasantly surprised!! Yelp moved my review of Tin Can Cafe of Hudson to the old Jackie's Place Yelp review page, and changed the name of the page to Tin Can Cafe of Hudson - so almost of all the photos and reviews are for the previous owner Jackie's Place. This was our first stop into Jackie's. We ordered a couple of omelettes, hash browns, toast and a side of sausage links. The food came out hot, and was a FULL helping for I believe it was $6.95. The only real issue we had was the waitress asking for my fork so that she could take my sausage off of another patrons plate and plop it onto my plate after accidentally almost serving it to him. Then walked back over to the other patron and gave him his now correct order. I think some side plates for side orders might help resolve this issue. If you don't mind the dinner atmosphere and are craving breakfast you will get your moneys worth. Though this place is close to our home we will unfortunately not be back here due to the sausage incident read more

Driving thru town one morning on my to Ocala and I come across this local favorite. It was great. It seemed like one big community inside. Everyone was friendly, staff and customers, not to mention how my Lilly stole the show getting everyone's attention. One of my frequented places, particularly because they have the freshest fruit that comes w/ so many platters. You can substitute for potato any time. Omelets are exceptionally good. Good do a bit more to make it a wonderful local place: perhaps some curtains, flowers on the tables. Could be outstanding if the tables in the center were painted bright colors but still a very good place to stop in. read more

We didn't see a specials board until we were leaving as the board is on the wall where you exit. For breakfast for 2 and only 1 of us drinking coffee seems high. Am I turning into a senior?!?! Breakfast cost us what lunch normally would. Tasted like canola or vegetable oil was used on the griddle. Not a big fan but unfortunately it's common in the diner type places. I didn't take pix but the food was presented well. Service was good. Waitress very accommodating. Everyone was friendly! Ambiance? Cafeteria atmosphere with home made tables mostly. Kinda sparse but the food makes up for the atmosphere. Kinda echoey in there but clean so it's all good. Parking lot. Beware! There's a cliff on the driveway edge that's so deep you'll wreck a normal cars undercarriage. Park around the side off saltwater if you drive a Honda or corvette! It's so deep I hear they're going to offer donkey rides down to the bottom like the Grand Canyon! Talk of a gift and souvenir shop at the bottom too. That might just be a rumor though.
