And the list never disappoints! Everything and I mean everything is amazing. Service: It's dang near as good as the food! Elina and her friends at the bar make it a fantastic experience. The servers are all super sweet and make you feel at home. It's A+. Not to mention Mike the owner is constantly showing face and shaking hands and making certain his customers have the best experience. There are beautiful views of the gulf. I would recommend reservations. It is packed at 4:30. There is an early bird dinner. The difference is smaller portions. For example you get one piece of grouper instead of two. We had 1/2 pound of steamed shrimp which I forgot to photograph for starters. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and delicious. I ordered the fried grouper and fries. It was the flakiest fish I have ever eaten One diner has the broiled grouper. She didn't eat it because she didn't like the seasoning. This place is my new favorite restaurant in Florida . Took the whole family here while we were in town visiting for a wedding and the fisherman's feast with added crab legs were absolutely amazing! We ate here on a Sunday around 1 pm. The location is great, right on the water in Hudson. They have plenty of seating with both indoor & outdoor options. The restaurant was cool so bring a sweater if you're sensitive to that. It was clean and the service was great. They have a lunch menu with a nice variety of options, my husband had the fried grouper with fries. The fish was a nice portion and it had a breadcrumb type breading. It was good. Nothing spectacular but it tasted fresh. The specials also came with soup or salad and we both got the Manhattan clam chowder. The soup was hot and it tasted nice but was on the saltier side. I had the captain's seafood platter with crab legs, fried shrimp and fried clams with coleslaw for the side. The fried seafood seemed like frozen and fried- it tasted okay but nothing special. The crab legs were a nice cluster and hot. The coleslaw was very sweet. The portions were plenty & we were full! Ok. Been living in Sea Ranch for 7 years. Inn on the Gulf is my go to place. I love it. The food is always outstanding. The bartenders , especially Nicole , really take care of the customers and "know" their drinks. In my opinion- best thing on the menu is anything to showcase the homemade blue cheese dressing. I wish they would put a buffalo shrimp or buffalo chicken salad on the menu. They will make them; but it forces the servers to really go above and beyond. Overall I love this place. Just wow! This place was epic. My husband and his friend got the calamari appetizer and it was huge and apparently delicious. I had the saganaki (flaming cheese) and it was probably the best one I've ever had. Huge portion and crispy outside! Yum! My husband had the special which was grilled grouper, 3 local scallops, 3 Gulf shrimp, and 2 sides! I think it was $34 and massive portions. Truly amazing deal for such high quality food! The Worst food I have ever had at a "supposedly" high end restaurant. The salad was horrible. It looked wilted, tasted as if it had some sort of gritty substance in it. The oysters rockerfeller were small and had little to no flavour. The bisk soup was brought warm NOT hot as was my girlfriends meal. The only thing good? The drinks and the bread. Wont EVER go back! Having heard good things about this restaurant, we decided to take 2 guests from the UK with us for dinner yesterday. Booking was handled well by phone, and I requested a table close to the door as my wife has MS with very limited walking and balance ability. On arrival our table was close by and as we were led to it, I held onto my wife to provide necessary support and assistance to walk. As we passed the dias at the entry, 2 young lady greeters were standing blocking the path for us to follow our hostess, and looked at us as if to show that we should go in single file around the main girl blocking our path. As I cannot let go of my wife, I politely asked her to let us pass, but she moved about 6 inches and stared as if my wife was drunk. I was not happy and this was not a great start to the evening, so we got past, and our hostess sensed there was a problem, so I shared what had happened after seating my wife. The hostess said, who did it?, by which time they had gone, so I left it alone and hoped that the evening would improve. Our server was great and our respective meals, 2 lamb, 1 pork chop, and 1 chicken parmesan were ordered, and with the exception of the chicken dinner were all served after our stuffed mushrooms were finished, and they were delicious. As 3 of us had our meals, we started eating at the insistence of the fourth party member, who's dinner arrived some 4 minutes later with no explanation as to the delay. The pasta in that dish was only Luke warm, but our friend did not tell us this until after we left, and it was abandoned after only eating half of it. She said that she didn't want to spoil our evening, so did not mention anything until later. The restaurant had all the makings of an enjoyable experience, but it was soured by these 2 simple issues. I think we will keep our special event restaurant to Vintage on 5th, in Crystal River as our "go to" place, as this one did not live up to expectations, and for $240, it should be tip top in every aspect. read more

We were celebrating our anniversary and the restaurants were between Sam's beach bar vs Inn on the Gulf, the win went to Inn on the Gulf because it was 10 minutes shorter wait time. We started off with mozzarella sticks and crab cakes which were fantastic. The crab cakes were made with fresh crab and had a lemony pepper sauce. We had ribeye with crab legs and steak potatoes and side salad. Shrimp scampi linguine with a cup of soup, chicken and orzo. Classic cheeseburger with steak potatoes. The seating out on the patio nearby beach access, the music that was too loud if we had stayed at Sam's was just perfect from the Inn on the Gulf. The food is generally good all except for the Seabass we had several months ago. That expensive piece of fish looked and tasted like it was either frozen prior or not seabass. I have had seabass at Inn at the Gulf in celebration of many birthdays and it used to be so delicious. Earlier this month, I met a few of my nieces and nephews for dinner at the Inn on the Gulf restaurant at Hudson Beach. We had reservations for 7:15pm inside. We arrived as scheduled, but the Florida weather was surprisingly nice and breezy so we asked to be seated on the covered patio. Not a problem! Tables and chairs for five were quickly pulled together outside. Heather greeted us as our server. She was very friendly and provided excellent service throughout the evening. Our orders started with calamari and stuffed mushrooms on to entrees of steaks, grouper, and Gulf shrimp with side dishes and drinks. Heather was very attentive and keenly anticipated our needs. By the end of the evening, she was saying, let's see what Auntie has to say about this question. And we laughed and had a great time! We have dined here a few times before, although not together. In the past, the food has always been delicious, kept warm, and served timely. Tonight we expected nothing less and you nailed it! As usual, the sunset views of the Gulf are spectacular! read more

My brother and sister and I took my mom here for her 89th birthday. My brother recommended this restaurant because all my family loves seafood except my sister; and Inn On The Gulf has very good steaks as well as an abundance of seafood. Started off with my personal favorite: Vodka Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. Then I ordered Stuffed mushrooms for my appetizer, salad with honey mustard dressing (I liked that the dressing was served on the side without even asking), and lobster and shrimp for my main course. All the seafood was delicately seasoned and delicious. Makayla served our drinks and food with great timing. As soon as we finished each course she was there to clear away the dishes and present the next course. Each time she remembered who has ordered what and gave all 5 of us the correct dish. She was also quick to bring extra napkins and MORE blue cheeses stuffed olives (there is no such thing as too many blue cheese stuffed olives!). Altogether the bill was $342 (including generous tip for Makayla). Well worth the price! read more

Went with grandparents who love Inn On The Gulf and frequently dine there. The food was great, the atmosphere was nice, and I highly recommend the early dinner menu for a good deal on their seafood. The service on the other hand wasn't so great. Our server, Sam, was rather impatient and unnecessarily demeaning toward our late 80s grandparents during every interaction. Whether it was when they were ordering or trying to pay with a gift card, she was extremely condescending, which thankfully it seemed our grandparents didn't pick up on. We were by far the youngest people there as the majority of their customers are elderly folks and I watched her have this same rude attitude with all of her other older customers as well. Every other server and host was kind and welcoming so I'm not ruling the place out entirely, just intend to never have this server again. read more

Our neighbors told us about this lovely restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised of how it reminded us of seafood restaurants that we had here in Florida back in the 60's and 70's. The food was very reasonable and cooked perfectly. My wife had the broiled grouper and she loved it. I had the mariners platter that had a pound of snow crab, 4 large coconut shrimp and fried clam strips that were delicious and tender, not like rubber that some places serve. The staff was very friendly and polite. Our server Bella was a gem. She made us feel welcome and appreciated. When we go back we will ask for a table that Bella is assigned.
