Breakfast is my favorite meal out and this local place doesn't disappoint. They have breakfast specials that include coffee or tea, making it very economical to eat here. I have always had a friendly smiling face, telling us where we can sit, greeting us as soon as we enter. I love the nautical coastal decor in both sections of the restaurant. Food is always served quickly and hot, and coffees are refilled quickly. Leaving with a full tummy is a great start to the day. Our go-to place! read more

Heard about this place when on television. Absolutely the one of the best restaurants in the area. Food portions are very large. Great service and folks seem to appreciate your business. Very clean in all areas. Highly recommend read more

A "seat yourself" or "sit anywhere" sign would be amazingly helpful. I mean it's a solid 3 stars. Nothing fancy. Great use of menu items to create extra dishes. There are way too many odd menu special boards to read before ordering. We saw two outside and another 3 inside, and we stayed in the dining room without the counter. The service was great and super friendly. Definitely a neighborhood local vibe sort of place. The food was ok. Nothing great, nothing horrible, all certainly edible and palatable. The prices are pretty good too. My poached eggs more like flattened hard boiled eggs on my country beni. The pancakes needed syrup to give them some flavor. I'll be back to try a lunch or two, but we probably won't be back for breakfast because of other really good local breakfast places. read more

Food is amazing. Staff is very friendly. Whether you're looking for breakfast lunch or just a bowl of soup it's all fantastic. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for just a relaxing reasonable price meal. read more

I won't wait another day to compliment this restaurant! I've been here at least three times in the past month, and it's always been consistently good. My two breakfasts here were second to none. Their award-winning hashbrowns are crispy with a seasoning I'd love to duplicate. I ordered mine with onions on top and that brought it to another level. The soft scrambled eggs were soft!! Who knew that would be done correctly? The sausage links were yummy too! My cheeseburger at lunch was cooked on a griddle! It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside!! The perky on-top-of-it staff kept the water and iced tea flowing. What a cute place. So happy I discovered it! read more

Great breakfast at a reasonable price. Service is excellent; your coffee cup will not get empty. Local diner atmosphere in a shopping center. More than adequate parking. Busy but not crowded when we visited. We had no wait. Note: 3% added for credit card. read more

Was nice to get eggs. After twenty minutes served by the speediest of waitress , says she's the owner. Apparently she's the owner's daughter and what she really owns is a straw for all the cocaine that went up her nose at 8 o'clock in the morning. She had a white look like she touched a powdered donut on her nose with a little drizzle running out. Worst part is, you could tell by the smell she was at an all night. Group adult sleep over read more

Heard this place was under new management. So we decided to check it out. The good: we enjoyed the fluffy biscuits. The bad: the food, service, and attitude. Another angle - the flooring has been partially replace with different flooring that was a different size under our table. The table was then place with one leg in the hole. We were able to balance it ourselves.... But should we have had to get down on the floor like that? Finally the syrup we received was in a honey container that looked like it had been microwaved until it melted. We ordered two sausage Benedict's and the 2 2 2. We ordered our hash browns crispy and eggs over easy. The gravy came out cold, the sausage was colder still. The potato's were undercooked and not crispy. The eggs came out cooked to well done. We sent the Benedict's (both) back. The new ones came out in the same condition. The sausage gravy still had the unpleasant flavor that comes from being fresh from the can - and barely warmed up. The biscuit was nice. The sausage had clearly been cooked at some point. We had to ask for refills - from a different waitress, who quickly brought them out. We asked to speak to the manager and were told the manager is the cook and was too busy to speak with us. The (second) waitress sent a message back to him for us, and he offered us 10% off, and told us that the first waitress was her boss and the owners wife. The owners wife came over pretty quick and began to scold us for not liking the food. She was very defensive and rude. Apparently they store the hot food by the back door that's open to the outside. She did promise to take one of the breakfasts off the bill... then didn't. Neither did they give us 10%. They did take a coffee off... but with bad service, dated interior, weird flooring, and everything else... it's going to be a long long time before we go back. The oaks had things better under control, when these same people managed that. read more

I'm so sick of driving up to Sunnyside up to get breakfast before I go to work I leave my house early and just because the owner doesn't feel like it. He opens when he feels like it. It's bullshit last time I ever come to this restaurant again You can trust your employees to open up a damn store how hard is it? You have great workers they can't get paid to support their families because you don't feel like waking up why don't you trust them? Well you lost me as a customer I will never ever be back to your store again because I don't feel like it just like you. read more

Great prices, service and awesome tasting food, wish they were open for dinner. Friendly staff

My 2 kids and I walked in, and wasn't immediately noticed, so we stood there waiting until we knew what to do. Nothing happened for a minute, so I stepped in a couple feet more to see if anyone would say anything. As I looked around the corner to my left, finally a woman told me we can go sit over to where I was looking. After sitting for a little bit, a waitress who seemed like wasn't having the best day came to ask if we wanted anything to drink. My daughter asked if she can have orange juice and she didn't answer, but wrote it down anyway. A few minutes later our drinks came, and she walked away. Nothing, nothing, nothing and finally about 20 minutes had gone by and she came to take our order. I smiled and said hi and she looked at me like "Why are you even saying that?" So, it was very awkward for a second...my son asked for pancakes, my daughter asked if she can have banana Nutella pancakes and the waitress mumbled they don't have bananas on them...so, we weren't sure what that was about. Anyway, I got the breakfast bowl. The food was pretty good, a little more potatoes than I would've liked in it, but it was still tasty. While the menu is a good one, and the food is decent, the service always ruins it for me. I might try it someday later but not right away. read more

You definitely tell that the new owners of the sunny side up diner has gone out of their way to put their heart and soul into this small restaurant, and still working on interior improvements. Our meal was delicious. The BLT and midwestern pork tenderloin sandwich was humongous fresh lettuce tomato and onion , Texas fries were crispy as I had requested. We'll return to check out more of our favorites... read more

On a recent vacay to the burgeoning retirement metropolis of Hudson, Florida, I noticed something: it's cheaper to eat out for breakfast! Sure, you can say "well let's just stop down at the Winn-Dixie and stock up on bananas and yogurt and save ourselves some money on going out for breakfast." But really, you can't. It's actually CHEAPER to go out for breakfast. Every. Single. Day. (Luckily for my waistline, we were only there for a week.) Sunnyside Up is definitely a solid choice for that most important meal of the day. They have a long list of specials, and their food is darn tasty. The service is friendly, too, and the coffee is frequently refilled. I enjoyed the half order of biscuits and gravy (yes, I have a b&g weakness!), and about 27 cups of coffee. It's also conveniently located right next to a large W-Dixie so if you've got shopping to do this is a great choice for breakfast. Three cheers for Sunnyside Up! Oh, and for the bathroom snobs, due to a couple of the reviews I took a gander in there and it looked A-Ok to moi. read more

Service is very good!!! Steak was surprisingly very good and at a good price.. atmosphere service and very good food cannot beat the prices these days when going to Sunnyside up you're treating your wallet

Super long wait like suuuuuuper long. Do not recommend. The home fries were burnt to crisp and very bland.

64-minute wait for food. The heavyset lady wouldn't even acknowledge me. The younger lady, nice and friendly finally helped. 3 out of 5 of us will not eat there again... ever. So sad to see a restaurant going doing hill so fast! read more

Went to this restaurant asking for a simple hashbrowns and veggies they kept bringing me different dishes even after explaining I am vegan and can not eat animal products after the THRID time the waitress just said she was just going to take it off the order since it's too much back and fourth. I'm not sure why the negative reviews. We loved this place. We went there for breakfast We are Tourists in the area and always look for somewhere that's not a chain restaurant to eat. I've never had biscuits from the grill but I liked them. There was a decent crowd and we were served food right away. Over medium eggs were perfect and I had a delicious brkfst bowl gravy on the side. Tami our server was sweet and funny and she and along with other friendly customer gave us great area information. read more

Fast service for food although you can taste flavors in your food from other items on the grill, ie my pancakes tasting like fried onions. Service was terrible. Our server didn't look us in the eye, stood at the table expecting us to order without saying a word and then as soon as our food came out slammed the check on the table and walked away. read more

I like this casual breakfast and lunch spot even though it's in a strip mall. The interior is pretty cute and they have some pretty tasty sandwich, omelette and breakfast (pancake, eggs etc) specials. My omelette with spinach, feta and tomato was excellent. My friend had the turkey with swiss on rye. It was good and they accommodated our special requests for things on the side or additions no problem. The home fries were crispy. Service was attentive and helpful. The owner was there which is always a good sign. I was happy with our meal and would go back. read more

Great little place, glad I found it, definitely my new place for Breakfast. Good food, great prices, friendly staff.

First time at Sunnyside Up. Had the bacon & egg omelette with grits for breakfast. The food came out quickly and was enjoyable. The waitress came by several times for coffee refills. All in all this was a good experience and I'll be coming back. read more

Rudest experience I've ever had. I came in today for an application and the first thing the "hiring managers" mother says is "Do you even know how to write a ticket." Which I respond to with "Yes. I have 6 years of serving experience." Then she goes "Well we don't have time to train. So you'd need to learn the menu and know what to do." Which I respond to as "okay." Then she grabs an application and asked if I have a pen which I didn't, and she announces over the restaurant "You should have a pen. If you're out job hunting you should be prepared." Then continues to talk about it with customers and asking them if they have pens. As I'm filing out the application, multiple servers are walking by rolling their eyes at me. She was rude from the start, couldn't even spare a smile. Completely disrespectful, unprofessional and rude. If you're not hiring , just say that instead of being unprofessional. read more

We were the first first-time customers in the door from Colorado and Washington State last week. Our waitress was so warm and friendly and generous with service any time we needed something. The food was great and we'd stop by in a heartbeat just to see her again. We were in town for a memorial for our mom. We don't know when or if we'll be back, now that our mom is gone, but we'd recommend it to friends who still live in the area. I'd be a regular if I was local, very affordable and a good variety of items on the menu. Thanks for your hospitality and humor. Joe B. and the princess. read more

This is the worst restaurant I have had the misfortune to enter. There were four other people seated at three tables and am had their food. We sat down and waited twelve minutes to be acknowledged. Waitress said she'd be right with us. We waited another 6 minutes for her return when she gave us menus. At this point we decided to stay just for the fun to see how bad the experience was going to be. She eventually returned to get our order. Meanwhile the other patrons left. None if those tables were cleared. There was food on the floor also. Finally the food came. It was edible bit barely. Never again. read more

The service is fine. Atmosphere is similar to a dinner. Omelettes are too wet with grease. Green peppers in the omelette are not really green obviously from a can. My daughter wouldn't even try their pancakes. Sadly a disappointment. read more

We've eaten at Sunnyside a few times but will never go back again. The last straw was mid morning 10-7-17. First, service was bad. Our waitress was totally inattentive. Second, the food was disgusting. I couldn't eat the hash browns. They were old and inedible. My friend couldn't eat her piece of ham. It was literally rubbery. I ate my omelette but it was the worst I've had in at least 20 years. My wife went to the ladies restroom. It was incredibly filthy and gross. The health department needs to check this place out. read more

The worst place to eat. Bad food, bad service. Been here 3 times but gets worse everytime . Stay away..

If I could give no stars I would. This place is a joke. No service to speak of. Waitres took or drink order brought my unsweet tea, brought my husband only half a glass of Pepsi. When HE ASKED why it wasn't full her reply was " that's all we've got or I would've brought you a full glass". WOW! ordered Bacon and egg sandwich (no cheese) stressed to her No Cheese. Both had, you guessed it, cheese. Also told them no paper towels in the ladies room, had to use my napkin to dry my hands. Asked for another napkin. Never saw anyone put towels in bathroom or got a napkin. Finally just got a rolled silverware off of another table to get the napkin. Will NOT be going back. read more
