I happened upon this place by accident. Looking at it from outside leaves one questioning the cleanliness. I entered and saw lots of dirty tables from former diners. I had to ask a customer if I was supposed to seat myself. She said yes. I went in search of a clean table. Finding one, I sat and was met by a very nice waitress. She took my drink order then dropped off a menu. There was an elderly, friendly brown man, a regular, who told me the food is great and so were the prices. I placed my order and watched as people packed in. Tables were cleaned rapidly. My food arrived. The pancake was large, fluffy and delicious. The bacon was perfect. The grits were a little runny for my liking, but good. The staff chatted with customers, making me feel like I was in a family friendly place. All in all, the food was good, great customer service and great prices. The parking is horrendous, very tight. Don't let the outside detour you from giving the Siren's Spoon a try. I recommend you try it. Give me a follow and I'll take you to many places.

So the Paison and I decided to make a return visit to My Nanny's restaurant on US 19 for breakfast this morning.. I had been here previously and loved the food and especially the good service but he had never been so I decided to treat him. We see now that there are new owners, and it is now actually called The Siren's Spoon! and the pictures will say everything. Their water bagels are fresh and crispy and absolutely delicious. Everything here is super fresh. I was very impressed by that. Give it a try-you won't be sorry. It's a small place. It's nothing fancy, but oh boy, let me tell you what- Chrissy is the best server I've seen in a long time for a Mom and Pop Place! I have a feeling this little gem is going to expanding and do very very well . Give it a try y'all. They have done some work inside the restaurant with some very cute aquatic themed silk prints and they have "Siren TV" which shows some cute mermaids holding different specials offered every day. But enough about the TV and all -that the food was spectacular. I had one of the best Mediterranean omelets I've ever had in my life! Swim on in and have a fabulous meal! ‍

New flooring, new layout and especially refreshing was the smell of FRESH BAKED flatbread. Staff were extremely helpful and cheerful (excited and proud to share their products). We both ordered flatbread sandwich combinations (pesto chicken) suggested from their menu and soup. The meal was fresh, tasty, contained fresh herbs (which made it extra delicious). It left us satisfied but not bloated. This is the difference between chain food and true Mom and Pop stores like this! Owner (Andy?) was so pleasant that we repeatedly returned. They also make homemade bagels which were again, unlike anything we have purchased from other stores. Truly incredible and we actually leave you dreaming/daydreaming about returning. This should become a chain... it's THAT delicious.

We came in and ordered two regular sized subs for our lunch, and were quickly greeted with a smile where our orders were placed. Hubby ordered a tuna fish, and I ordered the Italian Jersey Shore special. Meat is freshly sliced for your sandwich, which I ordered on white bread. Toppings are located at the next spot behind the counter, and we opted for the lettuce, tomatoes and onions (with juice - red wine vinegar and oil) to complete our sandwich. I also asked for pickles, which made me happy. The storefront is bright and clean, lots of windows make it feel bigger than what it is. Tables and chairs are convenient to eat in or take your sandwich home. An assortment of chips and cookies are also displayed in front before the cashier, and fountain drinks can be refilled after your lunch. Overall this location will be a favorite one for us, bringing back fond memories from our youth and the Jersey shore. We only needed a boardwalk outside to complete the memory.

Owner frequently seems unhappy/annoyed which makes ordering awkward. We ordered an online special for BOGO footlongs, applied the coupon to cart and prepaid. When we went to pick-up the order, we received a different special which was 6" subs. We didn't realize this until we got home and weren't able to feed our family properly. Also, the whole grain bread was substituted for white and it seemed like there was less meat on both subs (especially the sweet onion sub with perhaps 4-5 tiny squares). We frequently receive Subway deals and specials via the app. However, we have trouble applying Subway deals at this store site. Many deals disappear when you click this location. So it seems they simply don't honor all corporate deals. We discovered that another store on Spring Hill Drive (by US 19) always honors these deals. So, do us (in these financial times) it's worth the few extra mile or two drive to save more money. We hope they start honoring more deals, so we can frequent this newer establishment on Forest Oaks more.

Friday is the tuna, and your choice of chips and a fountain drink. You can choose type of bread for your sandwich, have it toasted, and finished with a great variety of toppings. Hubby rated this location as the best one we've ever visited and the pleasant customer service added to our experience. We will now frequent this location.
