Cookies and cream shake
Emily K.

We hit Silver Diner post baseball game to eat and kill a bit of time for the postgame crowd to clear out! We got seated right away and our server was attentive. I had a cookies and cream milkshake, which was a generous portion. I enjoyed the caesar (also a big portion!) and my parents liked their burgers. The menu is pretty expansive and gives a kinda cheesecake factory/TGI fridays feel, definitely chain-y. However I love a diner so would definitely come back and try brunch!

The Lumberjack Breakfast leaves you wanting more. It's your classic diner meal with pancakes, eggs, potatoes and meat, but by the end, I wanted more -- a testament to both the quality and portion size. Every bite was fantastic, but I wish the pancakes were larger and there was a little more of everything. Other than the portion size, everything else, from the service to the ambiance to the variety on the menu, was great.

Quinoa Coconut Pancakes

I met a friend for a breakfast before a soccer game and it wasn't too packed around 9am on a Saturday. The quinoa and coconut pancakes aren't your standard diner pancakes but they're very tasty and have a unique texture due to the quinoa and coconut in the batter. The pancakes include of course quinoa and coconut and also blue berries pecans, grilled banana and strawberries. It's a good portion and they're filling without leaving you in a sugar coma. They also come with a fruit cup which goes well with the pancakes. Service was fast and friendly here. Add an Irish coffee and you've got yourself a breakfast that's worth a try before a soccer game. I enjoyed my meal here and will come back.

One of my favorite places to eat in the DMV. This location is nice and new and across the Washington Nationals Ball park so a really cool vibe. Service was absolutely fantastic, quick and friendly. The upstairs area was really nice and outdoor seating was available as well. Food was hot , fresh and large portions. I am stuffed !

My husband and I are regulars for dine in and take out. My husband can't get enough of the short rib burger, but lots of dishes are great here. I love all the crab dishes: crab cake platter, crab pasta, crab melt sandwich, and crab cake Benedict. Really good quality and such a reasonable price. I also love the club sandwich and the vegan cauliflower pasta. We usually split an Oreo milkshake. The adult milkshakes are HUGE! Most stuff is generous in size here. Dog friendly patio and kid-friendly throughout. My sisters's kids loved their breakfast today. We also finally tried some breakfast items ourselves. The caramel French toast and the red, white, and blue French toast are both amazing!!!!! Join eat well do well, for lots of great promos. Good for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free dining. Happy hour daily until 9pm! Always friendly servers.

Found this place just by walking around our hotel on a recent DC trip. Old school diner vibe with a modern menu. They partner with 16 local farms and have a wide variety of dishes with organic ingredients. We loved it so much we ate here twice on our trip! We had clubs, bison burger, crab cakes and meat loaf. Lots of food for your money. Also don't sleep on the milk shakes! A variety menu too includes apps, salads, soups, burgers and a variety of entrees. Also they have a great drink menu and daily happy hour! Service was friendly and quick. Staff had orders in and food served a short time later. Highly recommend them for a pre or post game meal! Also, check out their sister place up stairs Silver Social for some great drinks!

We wanted to go to a nice diner so decided to come here for lunch. It had a nice family diner vibe - not too crowded or noisy. Overall the food was good - I got the philly cheeseteak and it was pretty solid. The service was good, and some of the food was halal too, which I always appreciate. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for a nice diner to go to with family and friends.

Five stars for service, friendliness, accommodating requests, and quality. Steak was cooked really nicely, not over done. Same for burger. Get the house made salad dressing, it was delicious. And the cocktails were really good too. Kid friendly with a great kid menu. Parking here is terrible, but metro accessible.

Food was so good I forgot to take a picture. Great location and was very close to my hotel. As I walked in, we were greeted by the hostess who showed us to our table. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for valentines day and they even had a photo backdrop. The server was great and the menu options were extensive. So many options to choose from. I got the caramel French toast with strawberry lemonade and it was amazing and delicious. Definitely worth my visit.

Tuna melt

I will literally always go to and recommend Silver Diner. The menu has options for any and everything and they add seasonal items periodically throughout the year. The tuna melt will always be my #1 though, it's perfection.

New! Mozzarella Spinach Artichoke Eggrolls

Solid food, happy hour from 3-9 PM, service depends on who you get. The shakes are great and I enjoyed the new egg rolls! Brownie on the sundae tasted a little plain and burnt.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy brunch with one of my friends. This is only my second time visiting a silver diner. The atmosphere was really cute. They have a silver social upstairs, which I will have to go visit. The server was sweet as can be as well as the hostess. Getting into the food, the seafood sampler was delicious the sauce that goes with the shrimp balance perfectly. The eggrolls were better than I imagined. I was not too fond of my crabcake melt. There were capers and corn, which I was not expecting. And the au jus wasn't my cut of tea. I forgot the name of the noodles. My friends got, but they were amazing. They had cauliflower and were Thai based. I would def come back for their happy hour and to try their expansive menu

My nephew and I walked in and were immediately greeted and seated. It wasn't long before our server came and took our drink order. After he came back with our drinks, he took our appetizer order. We ordered fried green tomatoes and they were absolutely delicious. Because it was late afternoon, and my niece was cooking dinner, we decided to try a couple different things and share. We decided on the Honey Butter Pancakes, and the Shrimp and Grits. When I say everything was delightful, I mean everything was flavorful. The appetizer and grits entrée both had a little heat or a kick behind them, but it was just enough to enhance the flavor. The pancakes were small and differently shaped and presented, but they were so good. I would've given them a five, but our server walked past us several times and forgot to refill our water glasses. I believe it was his manager who noticed that our glasses were empty and proceeded to fill them. And because of the time we came in, it couldn't be blamed on too many customers. Every bathroom stall was also out of the toilet seat covers and that's not cool. Yuck!

I will say the space is really open and modern which I liked and it's located within the Waterfront. My friend and I ordered a few dishes to share: Biscuits, Shrimp and Grits, and the Berry French Toast. Only one biscuit was soft and fluffy. The other was pretty dry and hard so we didn't finish it. The honey butter (I believe) was light and did compliment the biscuit very well. I just wished we could've enjoyed the same consistency across the two biscuits we ordered. The shrimp and grits was a solid portion. They didn't skimp on the jumbo shrimp or the sausage and this is definitely a dish you can share. I thought it was a little too salty for my taste but again, the meat in this dish was seasoned well. They used challah bread for their french toast which made it nice and dough-y. I thought this was the best dish that we ordered and again, can definitely be shared between two people. It's sweet on it's own, so if you don't have that extra sweet tooth, you won't need to add the syrup. I'd like to try this place again the next time I'm in town and maybe try out their mimosas and other entrees.

We hoped to find a place that offered decaf coffee since it was late in the day, but really wanted something warm since it was a bit chilly outside. Unfortunately, this location of Toastique does not offer decaf - they only have a single hopper for their coffee, so it is not an offering. We were going to find another place, however, they said how about a hot chocolate or a tea. My friend is vegan and inquired if their hot cocoa was vegan, as most places have dairy in the chocolate. The cashier went to look at the chocolate syrup and also had another person look at it to verify it's vegan. My friend ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk. Even though it was busy, we only waited about 5 minutes for her drink. We appreciated the effort to double check it was vegan, though I do wish they had decaf options.

The bread was too chewy, which made it difficult to bite off because there was no proper angle of attack since the toast was large. With that many toppings, it really should have been pre-cut, especially for a takeout order. I could not even cut it properly with the plastic knife they gave. Flavor-wise, it was fine but underwhelming. The salmon was good, and everything seemed fresh, but the overall balance felt off. The cucumbers were plain, and the toast leaned dry, like it needed more sauce or spread to bring it together. For $18, it felt like a ratios problem more than a quality problem. Overall, it is not bad, but I left a little underwhelmed given the price.

My friend ordered the croque madame, and after one bite, I already know what I'm getting next time. Rich, decadent, and that cheese sauce? 10/10. We also shared the apple bread with pistachio butter, which was such a nice surprise--not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced and delicious. I ordered the shrimp and grits. My friend ordered the breakfast plate. Each came out to the table and I was honestly disappointed. I didn't know what to expect with the flavors. And the number one thing that ruined, the shrimp and grits for me was the amount of Parmesan it overloaded the plate that the smell was disturbing and made the texture of grits not to my liking. There were also only three shrimps in the entire dish just very underwhelming. Also, I was not happy with the freshly squeeze orange juice. It's not good at all. In my opinion overall, I will rate them at five out of 10.
