    Thai Golden Curry ($18)
    Rachel L.

Tried a total of two dishes from their menu! We got the Hue Style Noodle Soup and the Thai Golden Curry. It was plenty of food for two people; we had trouble finishing it all. Starting off with the Hue Style Noodle soup: so delicious! It was comforting, umami, mildly spicy, and full of flavor. Loved the rice noodles also which were the perfect slippery texture. The Thai Golden Curry, on the other hand, was not great. It was much more watery than usual, the flavor was lacking, and the eggplant in it was a little undercooked. Service was really good when we went! Despite it being busy they were still decently attentive. The inside is really cozy and cute.

I always love finding great Vietnamese restaurants and Silver Chopsticks definitely made my list. We got fresh spring rolls (shrimp and chicken) and chicken cartilage to start - highly recommend both. We also go the vermicelli with pork and pho with well-done and rare beef. The meats in both dishes were so tender and flavourful. The broth for the pho was rich and clear. Although I'm not in the area often, I definitely would make my way out just to have the food here again!

I think the food looked better than it tasted. No real complaints. There was no MSG. It's just that the food was "ok". It was not mind blowing. Kids liked it.

We came here for dinner with my family. Party of 7 and the servers were super nice. At first they asked if we minded sitting in separate tables because they only had seating for max 4 but some nice customers moved so we could get the whole center 8 seating. Food wise, most everything was good (coming from someone who worked for a popular viet restaurant in NYC). The bun Bo hue was plenty flavorful, the beef pho was decent and the Bo Luc Lac and chicken Com was really good. Beef could be a bit more tender but overall flavor was really good. The fake blossom tree in the middle of the restaurant was a great centerpiece and the decorations were really cute. Tiny hanging hats and other things you'd typically find in Viet. Decently authentic and I'd recommend it if you're in the area!

Due to some flight problems, we had to stay overnight in Toronto. We stayed at the holiday inn airport East and I was craving pho because I love the pho from Toronto. This was the closest place and it didn't disappoint (approx 8 min walk from the hotel). I ordered the beef pho with rare beef and tripe and the crispy corn while my partner ordered the pineapple fried rice and the vegetable spring rolls. We also ordered a mojito and a Long Island ice tea because it's been a weekend. The crispy corn wasn't crispy more chewy but it had a good flavor, kind of reminds me of a mildly sweet cereal. I saw the egg yolk pieces in it but it didn't taste as salted as I expected. The pho was good but I expected the rare beef to be sliced more thin. The broth is very good though. My partner doesn't like shrimp so I had his and that was cooked perfectly. I like the plating for the pineapple fried rice. The drinks were more juice than alcohol though, a bit too sweet for my liking. The two people working were quick and efficient. The only odd thing was the spring rolls came out after all the other food and drinks, just guessing it takes longer to make/fry.

Restaurant was very pretty and service was fantastic - the food was a little bland though

Excellent. Extremely fast and courteous service, attractive food plating and tastes clean, fresh and healthy. The Rainbow Stir fry has a mild lemongrass flavor, Thai chicken peanut Salad (it has cashews) and Fresh Vietnamese Spring Rolls (cut into 4 pieces) are great. Their Vietnamese cold coffee was refreshing and with a nice caffeine kick. If you are stuck in a Airport Hotel for a night, try it.

More like a 3.5 :) The service was really good and we were seated in the heated outdoor patio that was tented. There were at least 2-3 heaters around our table and the tables were very spaced out. We ordered the normal beef pho, crispy pho, Tom yum noodle soup and a salted egg crispy corn. I found the items to be hit or miss. The hits were outstanding and I would gladly order again if in the neighbourhood but the misses I would not miss. The pho was very generic and just nothing to write home about. The tom yum soup is one of the better ones I've had in GTA but not as rich as I would've liked. Still on the hunt for an awesome tom yum!! The salted egg corn was the highlight!! I could have eaten the whole bowl! Each kernel was well flavoured and crispy! Meanwhile the crispy pho was so interesting. Kind felt like a dip platter. The pho slices were crispy and crunchy. I personally did not really like the dip portion. Reminds me of high level cornstarch saucy goo at times. Sorry! It tasted great just the consistency I disliked. Overall, if I'm the area, I might try other places but I also would not mind returning (just not high up on my list).

Ideally would've given this 3.5 stars but alas, Yelp still doesn't allow that. The food: taste of food, ambience in restaurant. The bad: slow service, small portions.

Food was excellent and service was accommodating. I had beef rib pho and complimentary warm tea. The sauce to go with the beef rib was quite good. I got the rest of the pho to go, as it was a huge serving. It was a bit of a challenge trying to put the contents of the huge bowl into the takeout containers and I imagine other people have this same issue. Will definitely be back. Next time I'd like to try their banh xeo and com sườn bì chả.

They specialize in meat platters where you can create DIY fresh rolls. The platters come with lettuce, mints, vermicelli, rice paper and house special sauce. They also have pho, rice, and vermicelli dishes as well. Washrooms are located downstairs which are not accessible. They only accept cash (with a 10% cash discount) or debit. I previously have had Anh Dao for take out before - their pork sausages (nem nuong) are delicious and perfect when you wrap them with vermicelli and fresh herbs. Even when I got take out, the restaurant gives you plenty of fresh ingredients to create your own fresh rolls. I recently went to Anh Dao for lunch to dine in at the restaurant on a Friday around 12:30pm. The place was pretty quiet as it seemed like I was their first customer that day. During my time there, there was another party of 2 that also came in to eat lunch. I opted for the house special soup pho ($19.95). Service was friendly and my food came at a reasonable time after I ordered. The house special pho included slice rare beef, beef brisket, beef balls, and tripe. The soup was slightly sweet with a nuttier flavour. The noodles were unfortunately not the fresh kind but there were ample beef ingredients in the bowl of pho for the price you are paying. I love how in addition to siracha and hoisin sauce, there is also ground up chili sauce as well as a pickled sliced garlic and jalapeno pepper mixture at the table. Moreover, you get bean spouts, a red chili pepper, fresh herbs, and lime that you can add to your pho broth. Overall, a tasty bowl of pho where the quality of the beef was good. Anh Dao is a tasty option for Vietnamese food in the College and Spadina area. Definitely do try their meat platters as they are quite delicious!

I tried to finish the broth because it was so good. I would have given that first bowl 4 stars! Today was terrible! It just felt like a super water-downed broth that I didn't want to drink. Everything was just boiled and dumped in a water-downed soup base. The least they can do is use broth and dump it in the seafood tomato based soup. This was a 9pm dinner. They had their own family visiting to close up shop at 11. I tried asking them what happened to the broth today but they didn't speak English or just decided not to. It was disappointing for a bowl of $21 + tax noodle that was just pretty bland tonight even though it looked the part.... Sigh 2 stars today but couldn't average it out to 3 because now I remembered the spring rolls from the first visit were soggy Yes they are friendly but don't know if it's a place you should come before 7pm to catch the good broth?

The dry noodle dishes under the green column use egg noodles & those under the brown use rice noodles but the toppings & sauce are the same. The most pricey rice noodles are Japanese but otherwise the difference is width. Got the thin egg noodle version in large. It's recommended to add pickled garlic & red vinegar. The soup was pretty tasty with a natural sweetness, 2 springy half fishballs & a large, very fresh shrimp. The sauce was basically oyster sauce but pickled garlic, red vinegar, hoi sin & chili sauce were available to add complexity. The noodles weren't wet but were not dry either. Large was a very big bowl it came with minced pork, thin sliced pork beansprouts & greens. The pickled garlic was good. Also got a shrimp fritter on the side for $2.50. It was big with one tiny shrimp. The juxtaposition was comical but it was cheap. It was not warm but the fritter was crispy & tasty. Unfortunately the shrimp itself was dry & brittle. Service was good, especially for an Asian place.
