Went with a friend and we watched a few orders come out. So we decided to split a meal. We got veggie spring rolls for an appetizer then split beef pad Thai. Tried a total of two dishes from their menu! We got the Hue Style Noodle Soup and the Thai Golden Curry. It was plenty of food for two people; we had trouble finishing it all. Starting off with the Hue Style Noodle soup: so delicious! It was comforting, umami, mildly spicy, and full of flavor. Loved the rice noodles also which were the perfect slippery texture. The Thai Golden Curry, on the other hand, was not great. It was much more watery than usual, the flavor was lacking, and the eggplant in it was a little undercooked. I always love finding great Vietnamese restaurants and Silver Chopsticks definitely made my list. We got fresh spring rolls (shrimp and chicken) and chicken cartilage to start - highly recommend both. We also go the vermicelli with pork and pho with well-done and rare beef. The meats in both dishes were so tender and flavourful. The broth for the pho was rich and clear. Due to some flight problems, we had to stay overnight in Toronto. We stayed at the holiday inn airport East and I was craving pho because I love the pho from Toronto. This was the closest place and it didn't disappoint (approx 8 min walk from the hotel). I ordered the beef pho with rare beef and tripe and the crispy corn while my partner ordered the pineapple fried rice and the vegetable spring rolls. We also ordered a mojito and a Long Island ice tea because it's been a weekend. The crispy corn wasn't crispy more chewy but it had a good flavor, kind of reminds me of a mildly sweet cereal. I saw the egg yolk pieces in it but it didn't taste as salted as I expected. The pho was good but I expected the rare beef to be sliced more thin. The broth is very good though. My partner doesn't like shrimp so I had his and that was cooked perfectly. I like the plating for the pineapple fried rice. The drinks were more juice than alcohol though, a bit too sweet for my liking. The two people working were quick and efficient. The only odd thing was the spring rolls came out after all the other food and drinks, just guessing it takes longer to make/fry. read more

We came here for dinner with my family. Party of 7 and the servers were super nice. At first they asked if we minded sitting in separate tables because they only had seating for max 4 but some nice customers moved so we could get the whole center 8 seating. Food wise, most everything was good (coming from someone who worked for a popular viet restaurant in NYC). The bun Bo hue was plenty flavorful, the beef pho was decent and the Bo Luc Lac and chicken Com was really good. Beef could be a bit more tender but overall flavor was really good. The fake blossom tree in the middle of the restaurant was a great centerpiece and the decorations were really cute. Tiny hanging hats and other things you'd typically find in Viet. More like a 3.5 :) The service was really good and we were seated in the heated outdoor patio that was tented. There were at least 2-3 heaters around our table and the tables were very spaced out. We ordered the normal beef pho, crispy pho, Tom yum noodle soup and a salted egg crispy corn. I found the items to be hit or miss. The hits were outstanding and I would gladly order again if in the neighbourhood but the misses I would not miss. The pho was very generic and just nothing to write home about. The tom yum soup is one of the better ones I've had in GTA but not as rich as I would've liked. Still on the hunt for an awesome tom yum!! The salted egg corn was the highlight!! I could have eaten the whole bowl! Each kernel was well flavoured and crispy! Meanwhile the crispy pho was so interesting. Kind felt like a dip platter. The pho slices were crispy and crunchy. I personally did not really like the dip portion. Reminds me of high level cornstarch saucy goo at times. Sorry! It tasted great just the consistency I disliked. Overall, if I'm the area, I might try other places but I also would not mind returning (just not high up on my list). read more

The Rainbow Stir fry has a mild lemongrass flavor, Thai chicken peanut Salad (it has cashews) and Fresh Vietnamese Spring Rolls (cut into 4 pieces) are great. The food, though passable, did not leave a lasting impression, being somewhat mediocre in quality. It was the convenience of location that prompted me to consider this spot for a lazy evening meal ordered via a phone app. Unfortunately, this decision did not pay off as expected. Following a less favorable review of certain menu items on the app, the restaurant responded not by addressing the feedback but by outright canceling my subsequent orders. This reaction is unsatisfactory and not in line with the customer service one would anticipate. Given the multitude of dining options available that consistently deliver superior food, service, and ambiance, it is difficult to justify revisiting this establishment. Despite initially considering a three-star rating based on my in-restaurant experience alone, the overall handling of feedback and order cancellations through the mobile app compelled me to adjust my rating downward. Poor leadership/management/whoever's in charge of their online side of the business, has therefore brought my rating down from a 3/5 to a 1/5. On my way to the Reptile Expo and stopped here to get my Thai fix. Reviews were very good. Started off well with friendly staff. Took a tribe for the worse when we got the coconut shrimp 2 minutes after ordering. Clearly it was pulled out of a bag from the freezer. Spring rolls much better, I assume are fresh. Then came the red curry shrimp and green curry chicken. Now this must be great. Sadly, no. Oily liquid. Over cooked shrimp. Under cooked onion. Even the rice was dry, clearly had been sitting in bowls ready to turn upside down on a plate, even though there were two sittings. The food was excellent and the portions were good. The proprietor and chef was so friendly and quick to prepare the food. Walked here from my hotel because of the reviews. They did not disappoint. Prompt service, excellent food, wonderful selection of dishes and good drinks. I should also mention they are very affordable as well. I would have preferred to sit outside, but Dixon road is just too noisy. I had the Pad Thai with chicken and needed to request some additional spice. I had fried egg rolls to start and they were amazing. I would not hesitate to go back there. A hidden gem of a place chanced by it when pho was needed after a crazy trip but that's another story. Lots of standard dishes on the menu but the crispy wontons had that made at home flavour that brings one comfort. The Pho was delicate, balanced and the beef silky. Hot and Sour Soup had a perfect broth with soft tofu and a good amount of lemon grass and sourness. Try the chicken knee caps btw! This is an item we don't generally use in North American kitchens other than in a stock pot. They don't taste like much but are crisp fried and have a great chew. The service was exceptional and VERY friendly. I think we shocked them that we wanted to try the chicken knee caps. Wonderful surprise! Turns out this restaurant does have very good tasting meals. Our first order was for Bun bo hue, and Com Tam. We were not dissapointed one bit. We have gone to many Vietnamese restaurants throughout GTHA, we feel this place is right up there with the best! While good enough is also fine with us, we include considerations like location. It's right in the airport area, and compliments the other types of food places here. We also learnt that it has been opened for one month. My husband had SC Special - Broken Rice with grilled pork chop and steam rice and I had Pad Woo Sen - Stir fried glass noddle with vegetables in Thai sauce. The food was delicious.
