What an amazing experience with Silva Contractors. The price was reasonable and fair. They actually did more than we asked, taking time and carefully paying attention to every small detail. He has an amazing team of trusted employees and sub-contractors who did an amazing job demoing and preparing my backyard for paver installation and new sod. The paver design was absolutely perfect, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect layout and completion. Also we had two short fences installed, and they were very well built and the gates are the perfect height and perfectly functional. Some might not like a contractor bringing too many workers onto the property, thinking that they are just doing a rush-job, but with this team of guys they all worked very efficiently and got the job done in only one week. That's pretty darn fast. Also the cleanup work was also very thorough, and (very important) they brought a port-a-pottie so we didn't have to worry about where the workers would relieve themselves. read more

I want to express how happy my husband & I are with the services we received from Silva Contractors Inc. It took us almost 8 months to finally find someone good and trustworthy. I reached out to Daniel and Rick. They both were so helpful. Rick Silva was so kind and set everything up so fast. They originally told us it would take a week to pave our front driveway area and it actually took them only two days to get the job done. We are beyond thrilled with our beautiful front newly paved driveway. It has transformed the front look of our house so much! I highly recommend Silva Contractors Inc!!! They are not only nice people, but they are super hardworking and they go above and beyond to satisfy all of your home improvement needs. Thank you Silva Contractors Inc for helping us with our new pavement! Looking forward to working with you again in the future. read more

These guys are not good. They are amazing. I had several bids and I am so glad I went with them. Hugo came to give the once over and bid. He runs a very tight ship, Excellent communication, always updating me , ahead of schedule, present to oversee the work. His team is amazing from the incredible demo guys to the Paver guys to the electrical guys they worked like a really well oiled machine they actually went above and beyond and gave me great design ideas. I actually was able to get much more space for my driveway then I thought. I watched them daily. They really did go above and beyond by doing things positively which I didn't ask for. Excellent work. The job was to demo my existing cement driveway, which had Redwood roots, tearing it apart and lifting it making it dangerous. They demoed cleaned up, smoothed out with beautiful pavers. Gave me more space than I realized I would've had. This team has been around for over 30+ years with so much experience. Hugo was amazing. Rick, who is the owner came and gave great design ideas for the project. Incredible value at the price point and superb quality of work. I've had many companies construction companies work with me and this is by far the best. Silva Contractors reached out to offer help with my repair/fixing needs for my current status of backyard. Met with two representatives whom made the effort to go out of their way to battle Bay Area traffic to accommodate my time after work during the week. I even kept them waiting since I was stuck in the same traffic. Upon arrival, I was greeted with smiles, laughter, and was treated with professionalism. After their measurements they provided an easy quote to read and follow. Even though we need more time to move forward, it's good to know there's still good people who are passionate about their jobs. read more

When I was searching for contractors, I heard back from Silva Contractors right away. They were able to come out and take a look at my project and provide a quote within a short time frame. Even though it was a small job, Rick assured me it was something they could take care of quickly and efficiently. I also know Rick was being very honest with me about the area where we needed the work done, and what would be the best options that would last. I appreciated his honesty. He also gave us a reasonable quote. I had to reschedule our original date and they were very flexible. The day of the job, they were there early and got the job done quickly. They cleaned up after themselves. They also kept in touch when there were questions. Michael and the other gentlemen were very respectful. We are very pleased with the work performed and definitely recommend them for your project, you won't be disappointed. read more

Marciel earned this 5-star review. Marciel and his team got the work done on time and on budget. I hired Silva Construction to replace two ceiling beams in the kitchen. We recommend Silva Contractors for your patio work. From the beginning they were very responsive to meeting with us, discussing our vision, and implementing our plans. We had an old blue stone patio that we wanted removed so we could create a new patio with areas for planting and a fire pit. We also wanted to make the new patio level with our driveway, address drainage issues, and retain access to a clean-out that was located under the step that leads from our back door. Paulo Silva, our project manager, assured us that everything would be done to code and all our requests would be met. The project would be done on time and on budget. No additional surprises. The team of workers were amazingly efficient. The existing patio was removed in one day and the old stone was stacked neatly away. Each day the crew cleaned up and left the yard neatly accessible. Our new patio is beautiful and I love the color. We love sitting in the sun having our coffee. We love looking at the plants that we put in. Paulo even added a water faucet near the flower bed to make it easy to water. The fire pit is so cozy to sit around as the evenings cool. My mother who is wheelchair bound can easily access our patio. He replaced the existing step leading out of our house and now it is more attractive and inviting. It has been raining heavily now and we have no standing water on our new paver patio just as they assured us. They finished the project within the time frame they promised and there were no unexpected increases. We are so pleased that we picked Silva Contractors for our patio project. read more

We worked with Silva last month to remodel our backyard and couldn't be more happy with the process, staff and results! From the moment we met Paulo and Pablo we knew it would be a great fit. They quoted within 24 hours, great pricing, and were able to start within 10 days. The process took less then 2 weeks and we were impressed by their communication throughout the process. All of the on site workers were professional and talented! They did the removal/demo of the fence, deck and most importantly concrete around the pool. They then put in pavers, lawn/sprinklers, lighting and fence. Couldn't be happier!!! We will definitely be using Silva Contractors again in the near future! read more

Worked with Silva contractors on a driveway replacement, steps and a path (all pavers). Paulo came out twice to quote the project based on changes I requested (added some sq/footage). Was very easy to work with a the most responsive of the vendors I talked to. The quote was affordable and competitively priced. Project went really smooth - brought a large crew in for demo day and couldn't believe how quickly they got the old concrete out of there. From there a smaller crew prepped the site and laid the pavers over the next few days. All looked great but there was a fence post that got damaged as it was supported by the old concrete. Fortunately Paulo sent over someone who put in a new post (stronger than the old one) at no additional cost. Overall I wish we'd done this project a while back - it looks so good. Would definitely work with them again. read more

Great to work with and hard working crew. Job was some earthmoving to fill in a ditch and landscape. Rick Silva was really responsive, came out and gave me a reasonable estimate and timeframe. They scheduled it in quickly and had a short form contract to keep things professional. Junior Silva came out on the day scheduled to manage the job and had things under control with a good group. Job took two days as predicted and to keep to time Junior increased the crew on the second day. They leveled things off and did a good clean-up including any dirt on the sidewalk and road. Definitely would recommend. read more

Silva Contractors just completed a backyard project for us last week. We used them once before back in 2021. At the time, they had done a paving project for our side and front yard, which my wife and I were extremely pleased with. The side yard included a pathway from the front porch area to the side gate along with a retaining wall in front of the house. So for our backyard project, we knew who to call again. We worked with Rick both times and we brainstormed together on what we wanted. At certain points, he made suggestions which we ran with. Our backyard project included, a demo of the existing concrete, leveling the ground, new drainage including a french drain, paving the entire backyard aside for a newly placed patch of grass with a new sprinkler system. In addition we had beautiful rocks placed in our garden bed area and retaining walls in front of the fence, which we are very pleased with. He also installed a drip system for my wife's garden beds. I can't say enough, how happy my wife and I are with the results. If anyone is looking for a high quality paving company or landscaping for that matter, look no further! read more

My husband & I have been wanting to redo our driveway and also add an additional RV driveway to our front yard. Silva Contractors was very responsive when we reached out to them (same day). We worked with Rodrigo as our point of contact, and he had open lines of communication throughout the whole process. They also did our front landscaping & side yard. There was a delay getting the synthetic turf from their supplier, but they still managed to finish the entire 3,000+ sq.ft. job within the promised time! The crew runs a tight ship with their entire operation. Many neighbors have stopped to admire their work, and give us compliments. I can't recommend them enough! read more

Silva Contractors really went above and beyond my expectations. Starting from initial call, Rodrigo was very responsive, came out to discuss the project and measure everything, and provided the detailed quote within a few days. What's even more impressive was that he committed to start the project almost immediately - and did! It was a full backyard remodel and a large project. I expected it to take at least two months, but Silva completed the entire project in just three weeks - and all to our utmost satisfaction. Everything was done with great detail and care, and all of our requests were exceeded. Even Mr. Silva came by regularly to check on the progress and making sure that we were completely satisfied. Creating a garden waking path was our dream. After getting quotes from multiple contractors, we find Silva Contractors to be the best in terms of deals. They defined project to be 4 days in length, which actually took 4 days spanning over 10 day period. Guys were professional, easy to deal with and their work was perfect. They made sure to deliver quality they promised. They delivered the exact same pavers in look and feel as we initially pointed out in their catalogue. I asked them some favors along the way for paver extension around water tap which they happily did at no extra cost. I would definitely recommend to take a look at deal they offer and I will rehire them for my future projects. read more

Why waste a customers time if you don't want a job? I got 4 quotes for basic demolition work. This contractor shouldn't have even replied to the Yelp request. Quote was $10.5K which was 3x higher than the second highest, and $8k higher than the next. The estimator wanted to charge $1500 to protect wood flooring that is about 250 sq/ft. Ram board is $63/roll. Two rolls, max 1 hour to roll it out and tape. Insulting. read more

Four companies came out to estimate the work I wanted done, which was replacing my wood deck that was beginning to rot and finding a solution for my lawn that had died. None, except Silva, even bothered to return a quote. Silva Contractors was the only company that said "We want your business" and returned a quote right away. They began work very soon after they got the materials and the crews were on site every day for 3 weeks (including a couple of Saturdays). I am so happy with the finished result. Silva Contractors is run like a family-owned and operated business. The guys were all very friendly. I am a perfectionist so I did made some requests for changes along the way. The workers were always very respectful and eager to make sure I was happy with the final results. Many of my neighbors have requested a "tour" of the back and I am happy to show them. If I could, I would give it 10 Stars!! Silva is the company you want to work with!!! I don't usually write reviews but I feel like I am obligated to provide a review for Silva's outstanding job and services. We received a quote from Rick on 11/30, (by the way, Rick is the person you want to ask for, he is reliable, honest, and makes you feel like he is working this project for his own house). The paver project started on 12/9 and it took 10 days to the completion. The entire crew is nice, friendly, and professional. They left us a beautiful, clean new driveway and backyard without even one small issue. We received 5 quotes from different contractors, the highest quote (referred by our neighbor) is almost doubled what Silva has offered, Silva won our contract and we are so lucky to hire them. Their work qualify proved we received more value than what we have paid. Highly recommend. read more

Completely UNACCEPTABLE service. First we went ahead with their bid for our retaining because they proposed the best price and were licensed. I gave the deposit a month in advance to secure the date. A week when I double check the start time, I was informed that date won't work and was pushed back by a day. Then the day of the work the foreman, Ricky, shows up and says they undercharged us for the project and that we are missing 47 sq ft of concrete. After the first day he says the wall won't cover the dirt and recommended we put $$$$ to cover the difference because the job was already started we agreed and then the next day we find out by the crew that the extra concrete is still not enough to cover the dirt despite triple checking with the crew. When I call Ricky, he RAISED is voice and threatened me that he was not changing the order again despite it being his mistake. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! I just wanted to add that the y destroyed two of our plants and broke a part of our retaining wall in the backyard with no remorse and nothing to make up for the damages. I have included additional photos in the update. read more

I found Silva Contractors through a friend who gave them rave reviews for what was done to their front landscaping. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to be done but had a vision and a few ideas. I knew I wanted more of a hardscape look, clean lines, drought-friendly plants with some trees for privacy, a side nice fence....and some lights. I sketched something out on paper (I am not an artist...lol)...we meet a couple of times to discuss, shared a few pictures of other properties that I liked and they went from there. I work from home and I could see that the crew worked hard every day, and were diligent about getting the necessary tasks done while taking pride in their work. They also checked in frequently with me to make sure I was satisfied along the way. The job took 1 week to complete and I absolutely love everything about it. Silva Contractors brought my vision to life...even better than I imagined. So many nice touches from how the walkway pavers are laid out, the additional extension to the side deck, the lighting on the steps along with lights for the trees, and lighting that highlights the beautiful fence. Things I hadn't thought of...or envisioned. They even cleaned up the driveway area a bit and laid out some rocks and mulch to tie the driveway in with the front yard. That was a total surprise! They also repaired my broken fence door that was not able to shut. Unexpected bonus!! I'm very happy I took my friend's advice and hired Silva Contractors....one of the best decisions I could have made. I still can't believe it's my front yard. read more

I am wholly disappointed with this company. In late July, I requested a quote from them regarding the creation of a driveway and driveway apron. The gentleman came and promptly did a measurement and gave me a reasonable quote. He said he would follow up with additional information. The next day, he increased the quote by about $2k. He said he miscalculated the cost of supplies. Somewhat understandable. In early August, I sent a follow up email asking for further information as well as a quote for just the driveway apron. He said he would call me back and never did. I sent several emails and left multiple voicemails. I even spoke to his receptionist and she said she would definitely remind him to call me. I emailed and called in September as well. NO RESPONSE. I was just going to let it go when I received a Christmas letter from them, looking for future business, like I was some satisfied customer. I am beyond UNSATISFIED. This project was vital because it was intertwined with my refinance. If he couldn't do the project, he should have just told me. Instead I waited 6 months for a response... only to get a random Christmas card for someone who couldn't return a simple call, voicemail, or email. read more

We wanted to give our small patio (~200 sqft) a facelift by replacing the original mulch ground cover with stone pavers. After comparing a few inquiries we decided to go with Silva Contractors because their quote was reasonable, and unlike some general contractors, paving seems to be their specialty. It was easy to communicate with Paulo via text, and the pavers were delivered in about a week. The two-man crew showed up soon after delivery and it only took them two days to complete the project. Not only did they fulfill all of our requests, they even went above and beyond by making the overflow pipes go underneath the pavers as they had noticed there was leaking. We couldn't be happier about our new patio and would recommend Silva to anyone looking for professional, high quality paving work. read more

Excellent Customer Service and timely follow up! SCI installed a very solid retaining wall back in 2021. During the recent storms, water backed up near the retaining wall. I called Rick at SCI and within a few days SCI sent out Gustavo and Michael who did a thorough assessment and testing of the drainage system SCI installed in 2021. I had pavers installed front and back. This was to be completed in 3 weeks. Took more than 6 weeks. They made numerous decisions without consulting the homeowner. The front steps did not meet safety considerations and needed to be redone. Free standing walls had wiring exposed on the side of the walls. Had them redo this and place all low voltage wiring under wall caps. They brought in a new crew to fix these issues. They proceeded to cut and grind pavers with no attempt at dust control. Landscaping and house covered in silica dust This was the worst experience I have had with a contractor. No communication through out project. I needed to point out all of the defects with their workmanship. They did correct these areas what a headache. Don't trust the Diamond Certification they flaunt. Italo and his crew did an outstanding job on our backyard patio project. The project consisted of jacuzzi and surrounding building removal, deck demo and removal, 2 yards of topsoil removal and disposal, building an open shed, repairing some siding on the house, building a patio and a firepit. The reason we chose them was that they were the only company that was able to do all the jobs in house. They started the job exactly when they were supposed to and finished on time as well. Contracted Ricky the owner to install pavers in April after I agreed to his price. He said there might be a delay and they might not finish until the end of May. May came and went and Ricky and his company never notified me of when they would do the job. I got a hold of them in June and they apologized and promised to do the job at the end of the month. However they never showed up or even call. They apologized after I called and said they would have the job finished by the end of the month. Again nothing. In August Ricky assured me our job was absolutely going to get done by the end of the month. Finally in September, a full 4 and a half months later I gave up on them. We recently completed a complex project involving removal of a portion of my yard, installation of a paver driveway, moving of my mailbox and the creation of a gate to the side of my house. All of this was to allow us to move our RV off the street and next to my house. We were being encouraged to get our RV off our driveway by the city of Hercules. The project was a complete success and the result is beautiful thanks to Silva Construction. From the first time we met, Rick Silva understood the complexity of what was needed and he even guided me to an engineer who was able to provide me with a design drawing which I presented to the Code people at the city of Hercules. The drawing and project were approved the day I presented them. Construction started a week or so later. Rick's crew did quality work even in the face of last-minute changes that I, the homeowner, was responsible for. In searching for a firm to work with I accepted numerous offers. Therefore, I knew Rick's quote was reasonable because they were all very close. Rick helped me through the project approval phase and stayed with all of the changes to ensure that the final product was an excellent result. I think they are very worthy of 5 stars and I would use them again. read more
