I heard about this company in the neighborhood. Contact Mike who was the site manager at the time. He was great and the crew did a nice paving work around my yard. Over few years, there were some thin line opening along the edge of the paver due to unknown reasons from surrounding areas. I contacted Halex two different time to fix two different sections. I hired Halex and his crew to install pavers and artificial turf in my backyard. It was overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend / hire him again for future projects. Halex came on site to review the scope of work, he was great at explaining what the process would look like, what my options were, and answer all my questions. I also needed some concrete + woodwork that he doesn't normally do, but Halex was able to help bring in a sub-contractor to help with this, which made my life a lot easier. My backyard used to be an absolute mess with a rotting spa+gazebo and a fishpond breeding mosquitoes and overflowing during the rainy season. I had unusable back and side yard. Filling and compacting the fishpond and demolishing / disposing the gazebo / spa was a massive job aside from paving that area. These guys were methodical and diligent. I recently had Paver Express install pavers in my front and back yards. After comparing bids from three reputable contractors, I decided to go with Mike because he really cared about my project and wanted to make it beautiful for us. I felt that if we had to make a change later, he would be much easier to work with than other contractors. More on this later. I also visited some of his previous projects and was confident with the quality. I signed the contract with a deposit. Mike gave me an estimate start time of mid June. I was expecting some delays from my past experience working with other contractors, but the project started right on time. In the first week, Mike showed up with his demo crew during a heat wave. He was there the entire week driving the Bobcat and working with the crew to clean up the site. Then it came the first change order, we decided to do the backyard at the same time (original order was for front yard only) for a more uniformed look, which turned out to be a great decision. Mike modified the contract on the fly and ordered the extra Belguard pavers, which at the time was difficult to find due to manufacturing issues. Installation started in the second week, Mike continued to show up at the site on a regular basis and monitored the progress, even his crew was doing an amazing job and didn't need a lot of supervision. The crew moved along quickly while accommodating some design changes here and here including electrical wires underneath the pavers, drainage pipes, etc.. Mike would go around the site and mark any paver with minor divots (manufacturing defect) and have the crew replace them. The installation took about three weeks including cleanup. We are super happy with the result. Numerous neighbors stopped by and complimented the design and workmanship. Overall, Mike and Paver Express did a fantastic job. They are professional, very pleasant to work with, very reasonable with changes. They really want their customers be happy with their pavers. I would strongly recommend Mike to anybody. We had Paver Express do our backyard that includes a pool. Mike was straight forward, available anytime and a great partner during the whole project. The team removed a old concrete that was also the pool coping. Paver Express brought in advice and experience to redo the coping and paving. As we have a freeform pool, I was concerned on how it will look; it looks great, what an amazing job. Some areas in our backyard are with a difficult slope and required creativity or stair steps, no problem, Paver Express solved it at the agreed price. After finishing all the paving, we found some leaks from the pool plumbing, no problem, Mike send the crew and cleanly opened the location with no delay. We got estimates from several companies before going with Pavers Express Group. Besides their responsiveness and genuine approach to business dealings, they were more knowledgeable than the others and were willing to put forth their thoughts and design ideas (which is what we were looking for)! Others seemed to change the design based on whatever we said, even though we had no experience doing this kind of work. We really appreciated their expertise and opinion. It didn't hurt that their price was reasonable and did not include the markups that other companies impose because they subcontract out much of the work. Our main contact was Mike Talerico and we loved working with him. Company owner, Bruno, stopped by a couple times during the process as well. We installed pavers and a planting bed in our backyard to replace a decrepit redwood deck and dead grass. The transformation is astounding. They also installed a retaining wall below ground along one side of the patio to make sure the dirt was held back effectively since it borders a neighbor's yard. We made a last minute decision to put lights under the stairs and couldn't be happier with that decision. We chose the very popular Catalina Grana stone in Victorian for the patio and the Weston stone, also in Victorian, for the planting bed wall, with a Charcoal border. We appreciated Mike's counsel on what would look best in our backyard. The demo and install team - under the leadership of Jose - were polite, respectful, and hard-working. It took about 5 weeks to start the job (due to their popularity!) but once we got going, it was complete in just under 2 weeks. As you can see from the photos, we have a lot of planting/landscaping still to do. The open patch at the back of the yard will soon have a lemon tree. We recently have our backyard paved by PEG. The communication with Bruno was excellent, he was responsive to calls and emails during the COVID-19 pandemic. We had to get HOA approval before we start and when we finally got approval, we were able to get started in a couple of days. The crew was very attentive to details during demolition to make sure they didn't damage other area. Murry (I am not sure I spelled his name right) was great communicating with us the height of the pavers with respect to our 2 patio doors and the side door from the garage to ensure there's no steps required. There were a few days delay due to the pavers manufacturer was a little behind schedule during this pandemic but that's not PEG's fault. Their crew came on time everyday and they cleaned up the area before they leave. We are very happy with the end result and PEG. We are now in a process of getting HOA approval to do pavers on our driveway and we are going to go with PEG again! We used Belgard Catalina Grana in Riviera and in Charcoal for border. I searched high and low for this color in the internet and found very little pictures so I am attaching pictures of the pavers for those who might be interested. Bruno and Crew did a fantastic job on my backyard project. I hired them to redo the path and steps from my front yard, through the side yard, and up into the backyard. They put in a small retaining wall, multiple steps, french drains, over 1,000 square feet of Patio space, an awesome curved stone bench with light posts on top, and built me a paved fire-pit area with a seat wall to match. Where to begin? Mike from PEG was the last contractor out of six I met to discuss paving my backyard. Two contractors didn't bother to provide an estimate after we met and discussed the budget. Natually I wasn't too optimistic when we talked on the phone. 5 stars for Pavers Express. Our parking area is on a challenging hillside. The original asphalt, which we had patched and resurfaced a few times, was badly cracked and the original retaining walls were failing. Before and after photos posted below (different angles, apologies). We're very happy with the result. Mike, the foreman and salesman, provided clear, responsive communication throughout. He explained the installation process and worked with us on alternatives for the retaining wall and railings. Once the job started, his team worked full-time on the project until it was complete. They did an artful job of the paver, wall and railing installations, as well as some tricky removal of concrete under the failing parts of the driveway.
