I got 13 samples of artificial turf and interviewed 7 companies for my tiny yard in SF. I'm Type A and have been screwed over by many contractors, what can I say, I'm gunshy. What won me over with Turf World was: 1. Jason's transparency about the process with sending me his You Tube videos (the job went exactly as promised); 2. The turf itself was the best (was the closest replica to grass, the Catalina Pro was not the softest turf I sampled but was the sturdiest and prettiest and stood up the best like grass, and even my 6 year old daughter saw that it was the most realistic looking of 13 samples); 3) his communication, always prompt and complete, and 4) his price was the best. After researching this for 2 months, I went with Turf World and I am thrilled with the result. My advice? Go around and look at installations. Watch videos. I did and after a ton of consideration I went with Turf Word and I am a 100% happy and satisfied customer, And I'm not an easy target. PS remember as you are comparing the turf samples that soft turf flops easier. Update: After posting this review, I received a demand letter from Turf World's ATTORNEY disputing my account and requesting that I remove my review. The facts remain the same: I accepted Turf World's quote on July 14, 2026. After receiving no communication regarding next steps, I called Jason twice on July 15, 2026, to request an update. During that conversation, I was told Turf World would be at my property the following week and that I would receive a call or text with scheduling details. I never received that follow-up communication. I'm unclear how I could be considered in breach when I accepted the quote, proactively followed up, was told I would receive scheduling details, and then received no communication for weeks. A customer should not be expected to wait indefinitely without any update from a contractor. Turf World's response states that they "thought that we would get to you this week still being within the legal 20 day timeline" and that they "never received a cancellation of our agreement written or verbal." For clarity: I did not cancel the agreement in writing or verbally. I was waiting for the follow-up communication I was promised regarding scheduling. At no point did Turf World contact me to provide a schedule, confirm a start date, communicate a delay, or discuss any issue preventing the project from moving forward. The issue was never that I expected immediate installation or to be prioritized over other customers. The issue was the lack of communication after I accepted the quote and followed up myself. I have records showing my calls to Turf World and the absence of any subsequent calls, texts, or emails from the company regarding the status of my project. I find it concerning that a customer sharing a factual account of their experience resulted in a legal demand to remove a review. I initially reached out to get a price quote on my backyard after we removed all of our trees. I am trying to turn my back yard into a space I want to be comfortable in (like most everyone else.) Jason initially reached out to us and offered to come take a look at our yard the very next day. He arrived promptly and was so personable and offered his expert opinion and recommendations. My main concern was having turf that looked like grass to me but would also maintain well against my pets and he delivered and helped us pick the grass that would best fit our needs. I also loved that he made design recommendations that would work well for our yard. His team did a fantastic job even went above and beyond to fix a broken latch on our gate. I had been planning to get turf for a while and created a project in yelp to get quotes. I got 4 quotes total and Turf World was the best fit for our budget. We wanted a low cost but good installation for our dogs who would be constantly on it. They came out the next day to provide a quote. They were the only team to give a quote on the spot and correctly measure our yard. They also were the only team that wouldn't charge us extra for our weird shape/unused turf. There was an option for gopher wire, we declined but nice to know it was an option. All quotes were in the range of $12-$18 per sq ft. I signed the quote easily through their tracking system and communicated with Jason via yelp messenger. One week later, they came out and did the install from 8am-2pm and as promised, they cleaned everything and even fixed some wire plant fencing the dogs messed up. They had asked me about water lines but I wasn't sure and they ended up accidentally punching a nail into one. They very quickly patched it up and continued on. That is totally my bad for not knowing, they informed me immediately, and they were very professional about the mishap. Payment was easy through their payment portal and a text came with the link to pay just as the team finished their work. We are so happy with the finished product and couldn't be happier with the quality of the team. The efficiency was unreal. We thought this would be a much longer project but 1 week later, here we are! Bonus: some things we learned about turf - turf comes in 15ft wide rolls which determines if you'll have seams - most installers are using the same turf and they all cost the same price - larger installer companies will charge you more because they outsource to smaller and medium sized companies like Turf World so you might as well go right to the source. - whoever you get to install can recommend the best type of turf for your use case (ours was need for lasting turf for dogs) - there are layers to turf, not just the grass on top so the cost includes gravel, sand, siding, staples, weed tarp, hauling away dirt, etc. you can't just roll out turf you buy yourself and have the same result. - the reason for the layers is partly because of drainage, you don't want soggy turf! If you look at the underside of the turf, you can see the drainage holes and depending on what you want, you may want a turf with more drainage holes. read more

We will not recommend this company as they were a No Show for our ~ $4000 + backyard turf project and the owner did not even know about his crew not showing up. We found them unreliable, unprofessional and not trustworthy. However, we did like Kevin who came for the initial consultation, showed us turf samples and took time to answer our questions. But after we accepted the quote and scheduled the installation, despite the text reminders we got about the installation date and email confirmation from this company, nobody showed up the morning of installation!! We had re- arranged our work schedules and other projects for that day to be at home and to prepare our backyard for installation. The contact information of the crew was never communicated to us. We kept waiting for 40 minutes past their scheduled arrival time of 8 am and finally when we called them, Jason, the owner was surprised and said the 'crew should have showed up at 8 am ' and that he will check with them. Then gets back saying that the ' crew did not get the memo about the project today ' and if we can re- schedule it to tomorrow. No apologies, no "sorry for the inconvenience caused" . I reached out to Turf World to see if they could help get the dog urine smell out of my little patch of turf. They asked the size, gave me an estimate and then were available the next day. They came by and brushed up all the grass, added anti-pet odor sand, and hosed the whole thing down with enzyme spray (it turns out the one I had been using was a watered down knock off). Now it smells great in my little yard. All in all it was like $500 for their time and the materials, which looks a little pricey, but they came right the next day, fixed the whole issue, and now I know how to take better care of the turf in the meantime.
